Abstract

Salah satu upaya guna meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di era revolusi industri 4.0 kepala sekolah menjadi komponen yang sangat penting untuk merealisasikannya kepemimpinan dalam lembaga pendidikan. Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah pada era revolusi industri 4.0 dituntut untuk bisa mengikuti perkembangan teknologi dalam menjalankan kepemimpinanya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, faktor pendukung dan penghambat kepala sekolah dalam menghadapi era revolusi industri 4.0 untuk peningkatan mutu Sekolah Negeri di kota Bontang Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data , dan penarikan kesimpulan yang kemuadian data diuji keabsahannya dengan trigulansi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa, kepala sekolah merencanakan pengintegrasian pembelajaran dengan teknologi, mengadakan workshop pelatihan-pelatihan digitalisasi pendidikan, menyiapkan sarana dan prasarana IT, merekrut operator IT. melaksanakan pembelajaran bermakna dengan memanfaatkan dan mengintegrasikan teknologi, pelatihan It dengan narasumber yang berkompeten dibidang IT, peningkatan keterlibatan siswa, dan kolaborasi dengan pihak komite. Evaluasi penilaian dengan menggunakan teknologi seperti e-rapot, melakukan evaluasi di akhir kegiatan, akhir semester maupun akhir tahun dengan melihat keterlaksanaan dan ketercapaian perencanaan dan pelaksanaannya. Faktor pendukung kepemimpinan adanya SDM yang berkompeten, anggaran yang ada, faktor penghambat masih banyak murid yang kondisi ekonimi menengah ke bawah, lingkungan yang kurang mendukung pendidikan anak.

Abstract

The importance of Adiwiyata is one of the elements that makes a school successful in creating a learning environment that supports improving the quality of education. The principal who also supports the success of the Adiwiyata program and improving the quality of education in schools. This study aims to describe the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of the principal's management in the Adiwiyata program to improve the quality of education. The approach to this research is qualitative with a case study method. The data collection method is carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis method uses the pattern from Miles and Huberman with 4 stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The data validity check is carried out using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The planning carried out by the principal holds a coordination meeting related to the preparation of the school towards a national-level Adiwiyata school, identification of school environmental conditions, development of environmental care policies, formation of work teams, procurement of supporting facilities and infrastructure, and budget management. The organization is carried out in a structured manner and involves all school residents actively, starting from the formation of work teams to the formation of students who care about the environment. The implementation is structured and comprehensive through various activities that integrate environmental values into students' daily learning and life, such as cleaning activities, greening, waste management, water and energy conservation, and environmental-based learning applied in various subjects. The implementation of the Adiwiyata program has succeeded in supporting or improving the quality of education in terms of forming student character and the quality of good student learning has an impact on students' final grades and the quality of student graduates also has environmentally aware life skills. Evaluation and monitoring of the Adiwiyata program at SMP Negeri 9 Samarinda is carried out systematically by the principal through direct and indirect monitoring which is followed up with internal evaluation of the planning, implementation, and results of the program. Schools need to continue to develop supporting facilities and infrastructure for Adiwiyata activities and can develop the characteristics of the Adiwiyata program at SMPN 9 Samarinda.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education has become a global phenomenon that is changing the way schools learn and manage. This study examines the implementation of technology and digital literacy in the context of continuous improvement at SMK Negeri 4 Samarinda, with the aim of improving the quality of education. This study uses a qualitative case study approach through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The results of the study show that SMK Negeri 4 Samarinda has integrated various digital platforms in the learning process, such as Google Classroom, Moodle, and the school's internal LMS, as well as interactive media such as videos, animations, and simulations. The school also implements a digital-based Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) to document and manage the education quality assurance process. In addition, schools use data-based management to improve the quality of learning, by relying on data on student learning outcomes, attendance, and teacher performance evaluation. The implementation of the flexible and student-based Independent Curriculum, as well as the use of digital technology in learning, has a significant impact on improving the quality of learning and students' skills. Technology-based evaluation and strengthening technical and soft skills also support students' readiness to enter the digitalized world of work. This research contributes to understanding how technology and digital literacy can strengthen continuous improvement in education quality management in vocational schools, as well as become a model for vocational schools in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Fact-based decision making is an essential element in the implementation of quality management systems in schools. This approach emphasizes the importance of using accurate, relevant, and accountable data in every decision-making process related to planning, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of educational quality. In the context of quality management, decisions made objectively based on facts can enhance program effectiveness, resource efficiency, and the trust of all school stakeholders. This study aims to provide a deeper explanation of fact-based decision making. The research method used is a literature review, which seeks foundational sources to build theoretical frameworks, conceptual thinking, and hypotheses. The results show that several approaches have been developed by experts to integrate data into the decision-making process. There are several key aspects to consider in fact-based decision making according to various experts. Strategies in decision making include structured approaches to quantitative and qualitative data analysis, as well as collaborative and participatory approaches. Techniques used in decision making include Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fishbone Diagram, and SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats).

Abstract

Manajemen Kepemimpinan transformasional dan pelayanan kepala sekolah telah banyak dikaji dalam berbagai konteks pendidikan, tetapi masih minim penelitian yang membahas implementasinya di sekolah yang berada di lingkungan hutan tropis lembab. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru melalui kepemimpinan transformasional dan pelayanan di sekolah dasar lingkungan hutan tropis lembab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di sekolah dasar yang berada di lingkungan hutan tropis lembab mencakup empat aspek utama. 1) Perencanaan saat memberikan kebebasan guru dalam menyusun strategi pembelajaran, mendukung pengembangan kompetensi melalui pelatihan, serta mempertimbangkan pemanfaatan teknologi dan kondisi alam. 2). Pengorganisasian dalam pembentukan komunitas belajar (kombel) dan kelompok kerja guru (KKG), kolaborasi dengan masyarakat, serta upaya mengatasi keterbatasan fasilitas melalui pengajuan bantuan. 3). Pelaksanaan mencakup penerapan workshop, pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal, pemanfaatan teknologi, serta kebijakan pembelajaran mandiri saat terjadi banjir. 4). Pengawasan dilakukan melalui pemantauan berkelanjutan, evaluasi rutin, motivasi dalam peningkatan kinerja guruTemuan ini menegaskan pentingnya kepemimpinan transformasional dan pelayanan kepala sekolah dalam menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang kondusif dan meningkatkan kinerja guru.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the administrative management and the performance of administrative staff at SMK TI Labbaika Samarinda. The main focus of the research encompasses three aspects: the process of formulating the school's vision and mission, the development of professionalism among educators and educational staff, and the implementation of improvements based on evaluations. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the process of formulating the school's vision and mission is carried out in a participatory manner, involving the principal, teachers, the school committee, and educational staff. The vision and mission are widely disseminated through print and electronic media. The development of staff professionalism is conducted continuously through internal training such as In-House Training (IHT), particularly at the beginning of the academic year and during curriculum updates. The implementation of program improvements based on evaluations is conducted regularly through monthly meetings involving all educators and educational staff. These evaluations serve as the basis for decision-making and the continuous improvement of the school's work programs. The study concludes that school management at SMK TI Labbaika has been carried out systematically and adaptively, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous evaluation as key pillars in improving the quality of education.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the role of strategic management in enhancing the competitiveness of higher education institutions in the era of globalization, with a focus on private universities in East Kalimantan. The method used is a literature review, analyzing various academic sources and policy documents related to higher education institutional strategies. The findings indicate that long-term vision-based strategic planning, digital transformation, adaptive leadership, internationalization, and good institutional governance are key factors in building institutional competitiveness. The implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Curriculum also significantly contributes to aligning graduates’ competencies with labor market demands. However, challenges such as limited human resources, funding constraints, and inadequate digital infrastructure remain major obstacles, particularly in regions outside Java. This study concludes that integrative and adaptive strategic management is essential for developing globally competitive private higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the effectiveness of the teaching factory partnership program at SMK Negeri 2 Sangatta Utara in improving students' work readiness in the Automotive, Mining Geology, and Merchant Ship Nautical majors. Teaching factory is a production and service-based learning model implemented in an environment that copies the real conditions of the industrial world. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach, which was chosen because it allows for in-depth exploration of the dynamics and context of teaching factory implementation in certain educational units. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews with 20 students, productive teachers, and industry partners, direct observation, and documentation studies. The results of the study showed that teaching factory provides contextual learning experiences to students, strengthens technical and soft skills, and increases self-confidence in facing the world of work. Partnerships with industry also strengthen the relevance of open materials and open up job placement opportunities for graduates. However, several challenges such as limited production equipment and practice schedules still need to be overcome to optimize this program. Thus, teaching factory has proven effective as a strategy to strengthen the link and match between SMK and industry.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education is an essential foundation in facing global challenges, which require educational institutions, including madrasahs, to carry out a comprehensive management transformation. One of the main pillars of this transformation is the adoption of technology through information systems, which are expected to optimize the quality assurance process. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the implementation of information system-based education management in state madrasahs in East Kalimantan. The main focus of the analysis is directed at the effectiveness of the system in supporting three pillars of management: administration, academic data management, and learning evaluation processes as quality assurance instruments. Through a qualitative approach with an evaluative analysis method, this study in-depth identifies various supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the success of system implementation in the field. The results of the study show dual findings. On the one hand, the implementation of the information system has proven to be successful in bringing significant improvements in terms of time efficiency in the administration process and increasing the transparency of education data. However, on the other hand, the main challenges that are inhibiting are the gap in technological infrastructure between madrasahs and the low level of digital literacy and technical skills of users. Thus, this study concludes that the success of quality assurance is highly dependent on the alignment between technology and human resources, and recommends strategic investment in strengthening digital infrastructure and continuous training programs. ABSTRAKPeningkatan mutu pendidikan merupakan fondasi esensial dalam menghadapi tantangan global, yang menuntut lembaga pendidikan, termasuk madrasah, untuk melakukan transformasi manajemen secara menyeluruh. Salah satu pilar utama transformasi ini adalah adopsi teknologi melalui sistem informasi, yang diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan proses penjaminan mutu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi secara komprehensif implementasi manajemen pendidikan berbasis sistem informasi di lingkungan madrasah negeri di Kalimantan Timur. Fokus utama analisis diarahkan pada efektivitas sistem tersebut dalam mendukung tiga pilar manajemen: administrasi, pengelolaan data akademik, dan proses evaluasi pembelajaran sebagai instrumen penjaminan mutu. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis evaluatif, penelitian ini secara mendalam mengidentifikasi berbagai faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang memengaruhi keberhasilan implementasi sistem di lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan temuan ganda. Di satu sisi, penerapan sistem informasi terbukti berhasil membawa perbaikan signifikan dalam hal efisiensi waktu pada proses administrasi serta meningkatkan transparansi data pendidikan. Namun, di sisi lain, tantangan utama yang menjadi penghambat adalah kesenjangan infrastruktur teknologi antar madrasah serta tingkat literasi digital dan keterampilan teknis pengguna yang masih rendah. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan penjaminan mutu sangat bergantung pada keselarasan antara teknologi dan sumber daya manusia, serta merekomendasikan investasi strategis pada penguatan infrastruktur digital dan program pelatihan berkelanjutan.
