Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of academic resilience on student engagement among Psychology students at Surabaya State University. Changes in the learning system in the digital era require students to have high adaptive skills to academic pressure, making academic resilience a crucial factor in maintaining learning engagement. The research approach used was a quantitative correlational approach, with a population of all active students in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study sample was determined using proportional stratified random sampling with a minimum of 200 respondents. The main instruments used included the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) (Cassidy, 2016; adaptation by Erawati, 2024) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale for Students (UWES-9S) (Schaufeli et al., 2002; Carmona-Halty et al., 2019). Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 26 to determine the effect of academic resilience on student engagement. The results showed that academic resilience had a positive and significant effect on student engagement. Students with high levels of academic resilience tend to demonstrate greater engagement in behavioral, emotional, and cognitive aspects during the learning process. These findings confirm that students' ability to cope with academic pressure and manage negative emotions is a protective factor against decreased learning engagement. Furthermore, descriptive analysis shows that levels of academic resilience and student engagement are in the moderate-high category, with variations based on year and gender. Theoretically, these results support Self-Determination Theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000), which states that students with high academic resilience have stronger intrinsic motivation because they are able to fulfill basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and social connectedness. Practically, the results of this study are expected to provide a basis for developing psychological interventions and learning strategies that support increased academic resilience and active student engagement in higher education.

Abstract

Contrastive analysis is valuable in second language teaching due to certain assumptions: learning difficulties are wholly or partially caused by differences between the mother tongue and the foreign language; the more significant the difference between the first language and the second language, the more pronounced the learning difficulties become; the results of the comparison between the first language and the second language are necessary to anticipate the problems and errors that may arise when learning a foreign language. This study aims to uncover the process and steps of contrastive analysis between Badi' science materials and the Indonesian language style. In this study, it yields Contrastive Analysis Steps: first, description—this step involves two stages, namely explaining the definition of Badi' science materials and elucidating the themes of language styles and their characteristics; second, clarifying the similarities and differences between Badi' science materials and Indonesian language styles; third, predicting difficulties. The author employs Clifford Prator's theory to predict or anticipate the challenges of learning Badi'.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to partially determine whether motivation has a significant effect on employee performance, motivation has an effect on job satisfaction, job satisfaction has an effect on performance, and whether job satisfaction mediates work motivation on employee performance. This research was conducted quantitatively using an explanatory and descriptive approach and data collection through questionnaires. A total of 40 employees of the Sukoharjo Regency Satu Pindu Investment and Integrated Services Service consist of 27 civil servants, 3 PPPK and 10 freelance daily workers (THL). Regression correlation analysis was used. The results of the analysis show that work motivation has a significant effect on performance and job satisfaction, job satisfaction has a significant effect on performance and job satisfaction has succeeded in mediating work motivation on employee performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to find out: (1) The impact of changing subjects on learning planning at Madrasah Diniyah Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Midad Lumajang. (2) The impact of changing subjects on the learning process at Madrasah Diniyah Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Midad Lumajang. (3) The impact of changes in subject matter on learning outcomes at Madrasah Diniyah Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Midad Lumajang. This study uses a type of field research with a qualitative research design. The results showed that changes in subjects from the 2014-2015 school year to the 2022-2023 school year led to improvements in the subject structure in the form of adding subjects at the Ibtidaiyah and Tsanawiyah levels. Increasing the quantity and quality of subjects at both levels has an impact on problems: (1) equating teaching material in one subject with different teachers at each level, (2) study time and, (3) assessment of learning outcomes. Alternatives taken by madrasah diniyah to overcome this problem while improving the quality of learning are pursued through new policies by forming: (1) subject teacher meetings, (2) scheduling rote submissions once every two weeks and (3) forming Takhossus Kitab Kuning and Reading Al-Quran classes Koran. The process of changing subjects is carried out based on the evaluation results which are routinely carried out at the end of each school year

Abstract

Al-Qur’an senantiasa menjadi objek kajian yang tak ada batas. Semakin lengkap piranti yang kita gunakan untuk mengkaji, maka semakin banyak pula yang kita peroleh. Berbagai model kajian bahasa seperti ilmu Fonologi (ilm al-ashwat), Morfologi (ilm al-sharf), Sintaksis (ilm al-nahw), Semantik (ilm al-dalalah), Balaghah (ilm al-balaghah) dan lain-lain, lahir melalui al-Qur’an. Semua itu tidak terlepas dari keberadaan al-Qur’an sebagai kitab suci yang mu’jiz sepanjang zaman yang selalu dipelajari oleh manusia, terutama umat Islam. Karena itu, tulisan ini memfokuskan pada peran badihiyah (kemampuan alami) yang telah ada pada diri manusia sebagai bekal untuk mengenal ayat Allah.

Abstract

Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa dapat disebabkan karena metode pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru. Metode pembelajaran yang monoton dan kurang variatif membuat siswa tidak semangat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran Amplop Misteri dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas IV di SDN Margomulyo 2 Ngawi. Peneliti menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Dalam teknik analisa data peneliti menggunakan data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil tes belajar siswa di setiap akhir pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Margomulyo 2 Ngawi dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas 4 tahun ajaran 2023/2024 yang berjumlah 13 siswa terdiri dari 4 siswa laki-laki dan 9 siswa perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan media pembelajaran “Amplop Misteri”. Presentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa yaitu pada siklus I yaitu sebesar 75,08% dan siklus II sebesar 92,30%.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of curriculum system changes on student behavior and character patterns at SMA Negeri 2 Batu, Kota Batu, related to the transition from Curriculum 13 to the Merdeka Curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum is part of the Merdeka Belajar program, which aims to provide freedom to educational units, teachers, and students to develop their potential to the fullest. The results show that students face complex dilemmas. Although project-based learning in the Merdeka Curriculum offers a deeper learning experience, students face various challenges such as high workloads, risk of stress, and the "flood" of information through technology. Students must filter information, develop critical thinking skills, and maintain moral sensitivity. It is important for the education sector to pay attention to student welfare in implementing project-based learning. Measures such as managing workloads wisely, increasing access to resources, and psychological and social approaches can help reduce the negative impact of this curriculum change. The application of Pancasila values is also necessary to shape good attitudes, behavior, and morals in students. Thus, students can reap the maximum benefits of project-based learning without sacrificing their well-being and life balance. Penelitian ini menginvestigasi keterhubungan antara sistem kurikulum yang diberlakukan dengan pola perilaku dan karakter siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Batu, Kota Batu, terkait peralihan dari Kurikulum 13 ke Kurikulum Merdeka. Kurikulum Merdeka merupakan bagian dari program Merdeka Belajar yang bertujuan memberikan kebebasan kepada satuan pendidikan, guru, dan peserta didik untuk mengembangkan potensi mereka secara maksimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dihadapkan pada dilema kompleks. Meskipun pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam Kurikulum Merdeka menawarkan pengalaman belajar yang lebih mendalam, siswa menghadapi berbagai tantangan seperti beban kerja yang tinggi, risiko stres, dan "bajirnya" informasi melalui teknologi. Siswa harus memfilter informasi, mengembangkan kemampuan kritis, dan menjaga kepekaan moral. Penting bagi pihak pendidikan untuk memperhatikan kesejahteraan siswa dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Langkah-langkah seperti pengelolaan beban kerja yang bijaksana, peningkatan aksesibilitas sumber daya, serta pendekatan psikologis dan sosial dapat membantu mengurangi dampak negatif dari perubahan kurikulum ini. Penerapan nilai-nilai Pancasila juga diperlukan untuk membentuk sikap, perilaku, dan akhlak yang baik pada siswa. Dengan demikian, siswa dapat merasakan manfaat yang maksimal dari pembelajaran berbasis proyek tanpa mengorbankan kesejahteraan dan keseimbangan hidup mereka.

Abstract

Keterampilan berbicara di depan umum dalam dakwah berbahasa Inggris menjadi semakin penting bagi para santri pesantren, seiring dengan arus globalisasi dan dinamika baru dakwah di era digital. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas metode peer teaching dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pidato dakwah berbahasa Inggris pada santri di Sekolah Kesetaraan Pondok Pesantren. Latar belakang pengabdian ini didasarkan pada kebutuhan untuk memperkuat keterampilan public speaking santri sejalan dengan tantangan globalisasi dakwah kontemporer. Pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif-partisipatoris dengan melibatkan 30 santri sebagai partisipan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi video, dan analisis dokumen pidato dakwah. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar observasi, rubrik penilaian public speaking, dan pedoman wawancara terstruktur. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan peer teaching secara signifikan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, partisipasi aktif, serta kemampuan menyusun dan menyampaikan pidato dakwah berbahasa Inggris di depan audiens. Para santri menjadi lebih proaktif dalam proses diskusi dan lebih kolaboratif dalam penyusunan materi, dengan kontribusi tutor sebaya yang membuat suasana pembelajaran lebih nyaman dan interaktif. Selain meningkatkan performa pidato, ditemukan pula adanya motivasi intrinsik yang lebih kuat serta tumbuhnya karakter kepemimpinan santri. Sebagai kesimpulan, peer teaching merupakan strategi yang efektif dan inovatif untuk memperkuat keterampilan dakwah berbahasa Inggris di lingkungan pesantren, serta relevan dalam membangun ekosistem pembelajaran kolaboratif yang responsif terhadap tantangan global. Public speaking skills in delivering Islamic preaching in English are becoming increasingly important for Islamic boarding school students, in line with the currents of globalization and the new dynamics of preaching in the digital era. This community service aims to examine the effectiveness of the peer teaching method in improving the ability of da'wah speech in English in students of the Equality School of Islamic Boarding School. The background of this community service is based on the need to strengthen the public speaking skills of students in line with the challenges of contemporary da'wah globalization. This community service uses a descriptive-participatory qualitative approach, involving 30 students as participants. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, video documentation, and document analysis of da'wah speeches. The instruments used include observation sheets, public speaking assessment rubrics, and structured interview guidelines. The results showed that the implementation of peer teaching significantly increased confidence, active participation, and the ability to compose and deliver da'wah speeches in English in front of the audience. Students were more proactive in the discussion process and collaborative in the preparation of material, with the contribution of peer tutors who make the learning atmosphere more comfortable and interactive. In addition to improving speech performance, it was also found that there were stronger intrinsic motivation and the growth of student leadership character. In conclusion, peer teaching is an effective and innovative strategy for strengthening English-language da'wah skills in the pesantren environment, as well as being relevant to building a collaborative learning ecosystem and responsive to global challenges.

Abstract

Abstrak Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata di PT. Karunia Armada Indonesia, Kecamatan Tabang, Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara, dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepatuhan karyawan terhadap aspek keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui sosialisasi K3LH dan pendampingan praktik penerapan Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) di area workshop. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pelatihan interaktif, demonstrasi penggunaan APD, dan observasi perilaku keselamatan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Program diikuti oleh 22 karyawan, dengan 14 orang diantaranya mengikuti pendampingan praktik LOTO secara langsung. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan kepatuhan penggunaan APD dari sekitar 60% menjadi 85%, serta peningkatan penerapan prosedur LOTO dari 30% menjadi 70% pada aktivitas perawatan alat. Perubahan ini mengindikasikan bahwa program KKN efektif dalam memperkuat pemahaman dan budaya keselamatan kerja karyawan, serta berkontribusi terhadap penerapan standar K3LH yang lebih konsisten di lingkungan industri. Kata kunci: Kuliah Kerja Nyata; K3LH; LOTO; keselamatan kerja; pengabdian masyarakat. AbstractThe Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata—KKN) conducted at PT. Karunia Armada Indonesia, located in Tabang District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, aimed to enhance workers’ awareness and compliance with occupational health and safety practices. The program was implemented through K3LH (Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment) socialization and hands-on mentoring on the application of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures in the workshop area. The activities involved interactive training sessions, demonstrations of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and observational assessments conducted before and after the intervention. A total of 22 employees participated in the program, with 14 individuals taking part in direct LOTO practice mentoring. The evaluation results indicated an increase in PPE compliance from approximately 60% to 85%, as well as an improvement in LOTO implementation from 30% to 70% across maintenance activities. These findings demonstrate that the KKN program effectively strengthened workers’ understanding and safety culture, contributing to more consistent adherence to K3LH standards within the industrial environment. Keywords: community service program; K3LH; LOTO; workplace safety; industrial engagement.

Abstract

This qualitative case study investigates the implementation of Self-Determination Theory (SDT) strategies to enhance Arabic spoken language performance among students of the Arabic Language Education Department at Universitas Kiai Abdullah Faqih, a pesantren-based institution in East Java, Indonesia. The study involved five high-achieving students and three lecturers. Data were collected over a three-month period through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis (audio recordings and reflective journals), and analyzed thematically using NVivo 14. The findings reveal eight key strategies categorized according to the basic psychological needs outlined in SDT: (1) Autonomy a) integration of salafi-modern materials, b) personal goal setting, c) self-recording); (2) Competence d) daily speaking challenges, e) role-play activities); and (3) Relatedness f) language community engagement, g) classroom discussions, h) utilization of social media. The study concludes that fulfilling the needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness through SDT-based strategies significantly improves speaking performance. Moreover, it addresses a research gap concerning the application of SDT in developing Arabic oral proficiency in pesantren-based educational settings, with implications for curriculum and pedagogy design grounded in intrinsic motivation.
