Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the effect of using the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model assisted by snakes and ladders media on the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. The background of this study is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of students, which are caused by the limited variation of teaching methods and the lack of media usage that could enhance student interest and active participation in the learning process. The research method employed is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consists of two classes, namely class VA as the control group and class VB as the experimental group. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, consisting of pretests and posttests. The collected data were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test. The results of the study indicate that the average posttest score for the experimental group is 81.25, while the control group obtained an average of 67.92. The statistical test yielded a significance value of 0.005, which is smaller than 0.05, suggesting that there is a significant difference between the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the TGT model assisted by snakes and ladders media and those taught using conventional methods. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the TGT cooperative learning model assisted by snakes and ladders media has a significant positive effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers consider the use of this model and media to enhance students' learning outcomes in mathematics, particularly in learning that requires a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This qualitative study analyzed the condition of learning facilities at MIT Fathrizk Elementary School, Pekanbaru, through observation, interviews, and documentation. Results showed that most facilities, such as classrooms, the library, and the sports area, were adequate, with good lighting and ventilation. However, limitations were found in digital teaching aids, the school's health and safety room being integrated with the administration, and the less-than-ideal toilet ratio. Good facilities have been shown to increase learning motivation, while deficiencies hinder learning effectiveness. It was concluded that the school needs to improve learning technology and the quality of supporting facilities. Recommendations include the development of learning media and regular evaluation of facilities.

Abstract

In this study, the author encountered a problem frequently encountered, namely the limited use of digital learning media. Interviews, observations, and data obtained by the researcher in class V.C SDN 37 Pekanbaru showed that the use of digital learning media, especially in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) material, was still very limited. This was evidenced by interviews with the Principal, homeroom teacher, and students of class V.C SDN 37 Pekanbaru, namely the minimal use of interactive media caused students to appear passive and less enthusiastic in participating in project activities. This data is reinforced by the statement (Salahuddin et al., 2020) that the application of digital comics is expected to motivate a pleasant learning atmosphere. Children generally like illustrations, as are comics. In addition, the learning process will be more interesting, so that students' potential can be optimally developed in the 21st century (Zakiyah et al., 2022). However, the use of learning media at SDN 37 Pekanbaru is usually only obtained from printed books, so students easily get bored and their attention is often diverted during the learning process. This study used instruments in the form of interview sheets, questionnaires, and observation sheets. The R&D (Research and Development) method was employed. The development model used in this R&D is the 4D model. The stages of this development model consist of Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. The results of this study indicate that the media is suitable for use after undergoing validity testing. The material validator yielded a percentage of 86.36%, categorized as very good/very suitable, the media validator yielded a percentage of 93.3%, categorized as very good/very suitable, and the language validator yielded percentages of 87.5% and 84.38%, categorized as very good/very suitable. Meanwhile, the results of the student response questionnaire yielded a percentage of 85.15%, categorized as very good. The student response questionnaire for the six P5 dimensions of the fable-based digital comic media yielded a percentage of 87.94%, categorized as very good.

Abstract

The schoolyard is one of the learning facilities with great potential to be utilized as an active learning space, but in reality, its utilization is still low, which impacts the suboptimal development of interpersonal and mathematical-logical intelligence in elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the influence of the HOT BRAIN program, which is a learning model based on the use of open school spaces, on improving students' interpersonal and mathematical logical intelligence. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The study involved two classes: one experimental class that received the HOT BRAIN program treatment and one control class that did not receive the HOT BRAIN program treatment. The research results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in interpersonal intelligence (Sig. < 0.001) and mathematical-logical intelligence (Sig. < 0.001) compared to the control group, thus confirming that the HOT BRAIN program is more effective than conventional learning. In conclusion, the HOT BRAIN program has a positive and significant impact on developing interpersonal and mathematical-logical intelligence in elementary school students thru game-based learning activities, exploration, and social interaction in the open school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of digital-based interactive teaching materials for Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBdP) learning in elementary schools. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research participants included three expert validators, five SBdP teachers, and students from two elementary schools. The instruments used in this study comprised expert validation sheets, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test assessments of learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality testing (Kolmogorov–Smirnov), homogeneity testing (Levene’s test), a paired-sample t-test, and normalized gain (N-gain) analysis. The findings indicate that the developed interactive teaching materials are highly feasible across all assessed aspects, including content, language, graphics, didactics, construction, and technical quality. Teacher evaluations categorized the materials as very good, while students reported that they were easy to use, engaging, and helpful in improving conceptual understanding. The effectiveness test revealed a significant improvement in learning outcomes in both schools, with mean scores increasing from 45.60 to 74.70 and from 38.22 to 71.38, respectively. The hypothesis testing results showed that F_count > F_table, indicating a statistically significant difference. Furthermore, the N-gain analysis demonstrated that most students achieved a moderate level of improvement. In conclusion, the developed digital-based interactive teaching materials are valid, practical, and effective in enhancing SBdP learning outcomes in elementary schools.
