Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of an organizational culture based on Islamic values at the Manarul Quran El Yadah Islamic Boarding School in Bambu Apus. Islamic organizational culture is understood as a value system that not only shapes collective behavior but also fosters the spiritual and moral character of organizational members. This study uses a qualitative descriptive case study approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The results show that values such as trustworthiness, sincerity, discipline, and Islamic brotherhood have been embedded in various aspects of management and social interactions at the Islamic boarding school. The leadership of the kyai, who emphasizes exemplary behavior, deliberation, and honesty, is a key driving factor in maintaining this culture. Senior students are also empowered as agents of internalization of Islamic values in the students' daily lives. Despite challenges such as inconsistent implementation of rules and a low understanding of spiritual values as a whole, the organizational culture at this Islamic boarding school has been proven to support the formation of a religious, orderly, and character-building educational environment. This study recommends strengthening the strategy of internalizing values in a sustainable manner to maintain the continuity of Islamic culture in modern Islamic boarding school educational institutions

Abstract

The rapid development of financial technology has acceleratedthe adoption of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) services as a keydigital financing alternative among Generation Z. While its easeof access, flexible payment schemes, and seamless digitalprocesses enhance convenience, BNPL also reshapes howconsumers perceive debt and manage personal finances. Thisstudy aims to explore the meaning of debt in BNPL usageamong Generation Z using a phenomenological approach, addressing the limited qualitative insights in prior researchdominated by quantitative methods. This study employs aqualitative phenomenological design, with data collectedthrough in-depth interviews with Generation Z BNPL users inIndonesia. The data were analysed using thematic analysis toidentify patterns of meaning derived from participants’ livedexperiences. The findings indicate that Generation Z tends tointerpret BNPL debt not as a conventional financial obligation, but as a practical and flexible payment method. Repeated usagefosters the normalization of debt within a digital lifestyle andcreates an illusion of financial control due to the emphasis onsmall instalment amounts. However, this perception alsointroduces potential financial risks and psychological pressureas obligations accumulate. This study concludes that BNPLdebt represents a socially constructed meaning shaped bysubjective experiences, social interactions, and the digitalconsumption context. The findings contribute to thedevelopment of behavioural accounting literature and providepractical implications for strengthening digital financial literacyand consumer protection policies targeting Generation Z.

Abstract

Tourism-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in supporting local economic activities, particularly in coastal tourism areas such as Pantai Carita. However, their high dependence on tourist arrivals exposes them to significant financial risks, including income instability, rising operational costs, and cash flow constraints. This community service activity aims to strengthen the financial risk management capacity of MSME actors through practical and context-based interventions. The program was conducted on 15–17 December 2025, involving 50 tourism MSME actors from culinary, rental, and service sectors. A participatory approach was applied through counseling and direct mentoring. Counseling sessions covered financial risk concepts and simple bookkeeping, while mentoring focused on the practical implementation of daily cash flow recording and risk identification. The results show significant quantitative improvements: understanding of financial risk increased from 22% to 78%, daily cash flow recording from 18% to 72%, and emergency fund allocation from 10% to 60%. In addition, the ability to identify business risks rose from 25% to 80%, while financial-based decision making improved from 28% to 73%. These results indicate that simple and practical interventions effectively enhance financial awareness, managerial capability, and adaptive behavior of MSMEs in managing business risks

Abstract

Tourism-based Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in supporting local economies in coastal destinations such as Carita Beach, Indonesia. Despite their economic potential, these enterprises face significant uncertainty due to fluctuating tourist arrivals and seasonal demand patterns. The originality of this study lies in applying a simplified Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) framework tailored to small-scale, tourism-based MSMEs using empirical field data. This study aims to analyze the cost and benefit structure and evaluate the economic feasibility of MSME development in the tourism sector. The research was conducted on February 15–17, 2026, using an economic managerial approach, with data collected through observations and in-depth interviews involving 50 MSME actors across culinary, rental, and tourism service sectors. The empirical results reveal that all business categories demonstrate a Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) greater than 1, indicating economic feasibility. Specifically, rental MSMEs show the highest BCR (1.48), followed by tourism services (1.45) and culinary MSMEs (1.23). However, variations in cost structures and dependency on tourist flows influence the level of profitability and resilience. The findings imply that strengthening cost efficiency, improving basic financial recording practices, and adopting adaptive business strategies are essential to enhance the sustainability of MSMEs in tourism-dependent areas.

Abstract

The rapid development of social media has fundamentally transformed digital marketing practices, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Among various platforms, TikTok has emerged as a prominent medium due to its strong viral potential, short-form video format, algorithm-driven content distribution, and dynamic trend culture. These characteristics position TikTok as a strategic tool for MSMEs in building and strengthening brand equity. This study aims to explore how MSME entrepreneurs interpret and implement viral TikTok content strategies in their efforts to develop brand equity. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, this research investigates the subjective experiences of MSME actors who actively utilize TikTok as a marketing platform. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and systematic observations of TikTok content produced by MSMEs. The findings reveal that viral TikTok content strategies play a significant role in enhancing brand awareness, shaping positive brand associations, strengthening perceived quality, and fostering consumer brand loyalty. Content that is authentic, aligned with current trends, and delivered consistently is perceived as effective in creating emotional connections between brands and audiences. These results suggest that TikTok functions not only as a promotional channel but also as a strategic medium for constructing brand value among MSMEs. This study contributes to both theoretical discussions on brand equity and practical insights for MSME digital marketing strategies

Abstract

Tourism-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in supporting local economic activities; however, they are highly exposed to financial risks due to fluctuations in tourist arrivals, weather uncertainty, and the seasonal nature of tourism destinations. This study aims to identify the types of financial risks faced by tourism-based MSMEs, examine their impact on business sustainability, and develop a practical financial risk management model suited to small-scale enterprises. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and field studies conducted during an edu-tourism program in the Carita Beach area from 1–17 December 2025. The findings reveal that the main financial risks include revenue risk, operational cost risk, and cash flow and liquidity risk. Among these, revenue instability and cash flow constraints are the most significant factors affecting business continuity, particularly during periods of declining tourist activity. MSME actors tend to manage these risks through informal, experience-based strategies such as adjusting production levels, reducing operational expenses, and relying on short-term financial coping mechanisms. This study contributes by proposing a simplified and context-based financial risk management model that aligns with the operational realities of tourism MSMEs. The model emphasizes practical risk identification, prioritization, and adaptive mitigation strategies that can be implemented without requiring complex financial systems. The findings provide implications for policymakers and practitioners in designing more inclusive and applicable financial support and risk management frameworks for tourism-based MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a sustainable development strategy for tourism and the creative economy based on local wisdom in Kuningan Regency. The region has significant potential supported by natural resources and cultural diversity; however, its development remains constrained by limited funding, low innovation capacity, and suboptimal community participation. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using data triangulation techniques, including in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed through thematic coding with the assistance of NVivo software. The findings identify four key strategic factors: (1) the integration of local wisdom into tourism products, (2) multi-stakeholder collaboration, (3) the utilization of digital technology, and (4) community-based environmental conservation. These factors collectively shape a holistic and adaptive development model that strengthens regional competitiveness while ensuring sustainability. This study contributes by providing a context-based strategic framework that can be applied to similar regions seeking to develop tourism and creative economy sectors in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
