Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning profiles of students with intellectual disabilities, focusing on their learning styles in studying the basic laws of chemistry using e-LAPD based Liveworksheets. The participants were three students with intellectual disabilities from SMAN 10 Surabaya. A mixed-method approach with a concurrent embedded model was employed. Qualitative data were collected through interviews and observations and analyzed using Nvivo 11 software, while quantitative data were obtained from pretest and posttest results and analyzed using bar charts and N-Gain scores to measure improvement in learning outcomes. The quantitative data also supported the qualitative analysis of the relationship between learning style tendencies and learning outcomes. The results show that student DA exhibited a kinesthetic learning style, whereas E and RY demonstrated visual learning styles. Students engagement with e-LAPD activities reflected variations in learning style preferences. Quantitative analysis indicated an increase in learning outcomes, with N-Gain scores categorized as high. Therefore, a learning style that matches students characteristics can enhance learning outcomes. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that e-LAPD based liveworksheets can assist in analyzing learning profiles, particularly learning style tendencies that influence the learning outcomes of students with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

Local history learning in high schools has so far received less attention, one of which is the material on the news of the proclamation of Indonesian independence in various regions (localities) in Indonesia. This is due to the availability of learning resources that are not optimal in schools and researchers are developing special textbooks on the material of the proclamation of Indonesian independence in various regions. The purpose of this study is to validate the feasibility and practicality of the e-book developed to increase historical awareness of high school students. The research subjects involved 4 history lecturers as material validators and media validators, 1 history teacher and 33 students of SMA N 1 Rao as respondents for the practicality of the e-book of the proclamation of Indonesian independence. Data collection used a feasibility test instrument, and the practicality test of the e-book of the proclamation of Indonesian independence was in the form of a validation sheet in the form of a Likert scale. This study applies a quantitative approach using an average formula. The findings of this study indicate that; 1) the e-book material of the proclamation of independence in various regions in Indonesia according to the assessment of the material validator is categorized as feasible (the average score of the material validator is 3.25); 2) The e-book on the e-book on the proclamation of independence in various regions of Indonesia, according to the assessment of the teaching materials validator, is categorized as feasible (average score of 3.62); 3) the e-book on the proclamation of independence in various regions of Indonesia is categorized as very practical for implementation in history learning (average teacher score of 3.75 and average student assessment score of 3.53). Overall, it can be concluded that the e-book on the proclamation of Indonesian independence is categorized as very feasible and practical for implementation in history learning.

Abstract

The digitalization of chemistry education is crucial for ensuring inclusivity and equal learning opportunities, particularly for students with intellectual disabilities. This study investigated students’ functional learning profiles through digital student worksheets (e-LAPD) on atomic theories, integrated with individualized strategies based on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) via the Liveworksheet platform. A mixed-methods approach with a concurrent embedded design was applied, involving three students with intellectual disabilities at SMAN 10 Surabaya. Qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations, then thematically analyzed using NVivo 11, which yielded two major themes: the implementation of e-LAPD and students’ learning profiles. The analysis revealed that the implementation of e-LAPD effectively supported students’ understanding of the development of atomic theories, as evidenced by quantitative results obtained from questionnaire responses and pre-test/post-test instruments. Questionnaire data indicated that 100% of students reported improved conceptual understanding through e-LAPD. Furthermore, pre-test and post-test results showed a significant improvement with a high average N-gain score of 0.88. In addition, the findings highlighted students’ learning abilities and learning profiles, such as their tendency to engage with interactive visual media, their preference for verbal explanations, and their reliance on physical interaction during learning activities.

Abstract

This research aims to fill the research gap by combining in-depth analysis of learning profiles and measurement of learning outcomes for students with intellectual disabilities through E-SAS Liveworksheet with individualized learning on chemical law materials, especially Lavoisier's law and Dalton's law. This research involved 3 students with mild intellectual disabilities at Senior High School 10 Surabaya. This study used an embedded mixed-method design. Observations and interviews were used to collect qualitative data. Learning outcomes were used for collecting quantitative data. Qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis and matrix coding query with NVivo 11. Quantitative data were analyzed through the N-gain test on pretest and posttest scores. The study's findings indicate that when analyzing learning profiles, each student with intellectual disabilities has unique and diverse learning skills and styles. Learning skills include self-regulation, technology interaction, and information processing skills. Students' learning styles show the preferences of each student in the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The improvement in learning outcomes is indicated by the acquisition of an average N-gain score of 0.9 with high criteria. These research results demonstrate the importance of understanding the diversity of student learning profiles when creating learning processes and media, thereby creating effective learning impacting their learning outcomes.
