Abstract

People can develop their skills, realize their full potential, and acquire the knowledge they need to achieve their goals in life through education. School climate as one of the components of education can affect the students’ academic success. The study aims at examining the implementation of physical dimension as one of the school climate aspects in one of the Islamic Junior High School in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia. The present study utilizes descriptive qualitative research design by using observation and interview as the research instuments. The results of the study show that the school has implemented clearly stated policies, consistent and unambiguous consequences for violations, and a sense of physical safety within the school. It provides a strong foundation for positive learning and interaction, so that students feel comfortable and safe at schools. Therefore, it leads to positive students' learning experiences as well as the atmosphere and culture of the school.

Abstract

Supporting Digital Era Through Implementation of Discovery Learning and TPACK Framework to Increase Student’s Learning Outcomes and Interest.This study aims to increase student’s interest and learning outcome by implementing discovery learning and the TPACK framework in chemical bonding material. This study is a collaborative class action research with quantitative and qualitative methods. The subjects of this study were 33 students of XI-3 from Senior High School 6 Surabaya. The instruments used in this study were pre-research questionnaire sheets, teaching modules using the discovery learning model and TPACK framework, interest questionnaires, student activity observation sheets, and posttest sheets per cycle. The research was conducted in three cycles. The data analyzed descriptively and obtained were learning using discovery learning and TPACK among cycles 1, 2 dan 3 experienced an increase in student’s learning outcomes and interest supported with the increasing of activity in observed stimulus, involved in problem statements, accessed materials and technology, analyzed and processed data, and presented the result. The average of learning outcomes in cycle 1 was 77 and went up to 90 and 97 in cycles 2 and 3 while the classical mastery from all cycles went up from 67% to 91% and 100%. Student’s interest in learning chemistry also went up through each cycle seeing through the percentage of the number of students in the high interest category from 21% in cycle 1 to 58% in cycle 2 and 87% in cycle 3. From these data on student’s learning outcomes and interest, it can be concluded that the implementation of discovery learning and the TPACK framework was effective to increase the student’s learning outcomes and interest in chemistry class.DOI: 10.23960/jppk.v12.i3.2023.02

Abstract

Obesity is a growing public health issue, particularly among young adults such as university students. Lifestyle changes characterized by high consumption of fast food and low levels of physical activity are major contributing factors to the increasing prevalence of obesity. This study aimed to examine the relationship between fast food consumption habits and physical activity levels with the incidence of obesity among students of the Pharmacy Study Program at Medistra Health Institute, Lubuk Pakam. This research employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 59 students, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) to assess fast food consumption habits, physical activity questionnaires to determine activity levels, and waist circumference measurements as an indicator of central obesity. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rho correlation test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed a significant relationship between fast food consumption habits (r = 0.596; p < 0.05) and physical activity (r = 0.389; p < 0.05) with obesity incidence among students. The findings indicate that students who frequently consume fast food and engage in low levels of physical activity are at a higher risk of developing obesity. In conclusion, unhealthy eating patterns and sedentary lifestyles are key factors contributing to obesity among young adults; therefore, preventive efforts through nutrition education and the promotion of regular physical activity are necessary within the university environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning process of geography and to determine the factors supporting and inhibiting the learning process of geography during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMA Negeri 1 Dondo, Toli-Toli Regency. This research was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Dondo located in Tinabongan Village, Dondo District, Toli-Toli Regency with a qualitative descriptive research type and used the subject of geography teachers and students. Collecting data using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that: 1) SMA Negeri 1 Dondo conducted Geography lessons in accordance with a circular regarding the implementation of education during the coronavirus disease (Covid19) emergency, so learning activities were carried out online. This online learning will not take long because Dondo is still in the green zone, so learning can be carried out face-to-face with an odd-even system. Learning planning at SMA Negeri 1 Dondo has held training for teachers in schools in learning design, namely making emergency lesson plans. Teachers use learning outcomes and evaluations to determine students' abilities to improve further learning. 2) Supporting factors for the Geography Learning Process during the Covid-19 Pandemic at SMA Negeri 1 Dondo are the facilities provided by the school and training held at the school for teachers. The inhibiting factor for the Geography Learning Process during the Covid-19 Pandemic at SMA Negeri 1 Dondo is that there are still teachers and students who have not mastered IT and this is considered ineffective, as well as the odd-even system that is not implemented properly.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Meningioma merupakan tumor intrakranial yang paling sering terjadi pada orang dewasa. Progesteron berperan dalam perkembangan dan proliferasi sel tumor yang terkait dengan hormon, seperti meningioma. Morbiditas dan mortalitas yang signifikan dapat terjadi, ketika lesi terlokalisasi di daerah yang sulit untuk dilakukan reseksi bedah atau sangat infiltratif pada jaringan di sekitarnya. Banyak penelitian yang dipublikasikan tentang sifat molekuler yang terkait dengan perilaku agresif meningioma, termasuk matrix metalloproteinase (MMP), namun penelitian tentang hubungan antara ekspresi PR dengan MMP-9 masih belum banyak dilakukan. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian observasional analitik cross sectional. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi analisis deskriptif dan analisis bivariat. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan SPSS software. Hasil : Uji korelasi Spearman untuk ekspresi PR dengan grading WHO pada meningioma, didapatkan nilai p=0,492 dan koefisien korelasi -0.117. Hal ini menunjukkan korelasi yang tidak bermakna. Uji korelasi Spearman untuk ekspresi MMP dengan grading WHO pada meningioma, didapatkan nilai p=0,16 dan koefisien korelasi 0.236. Hal ini menunjukkan korelasi yang tidak bermakna. Uji korelasi Spearman antara ekspresi MMP9 dan grading WHO pada meningioma diperoleh nilai p=0.008 yang menunjukkan bahwa korelasi antara nilai PR dengan MMP9 bermakna dengan nilai korelasi sebesar -0.427. Kesimpulan : Tidak terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara ekspresi PR dengan grading WHO. Tidak terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara ekspresi MMP9 dengan grading WHO. Terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara ekspresi PR dengan MMP9.

Abstract

Salah satu keberhasilan program kegiatan adalah perencanaan yang matang. Dalam akreditasi lembaga pendidikan, perencanaan merupakan bagian wajib yang dinilai pada standar pengelolaan. Berdasarkan data laporan dari Badan Akreditasi PAUD dan PNF Provinsi Banten tahun 2019, standar pengelolaan lembaga PAUD di Kabupaten Pandeglang memiliki nilai terendah dibanding standar lainnya. Berdasarkan wawancara dengan kepala lembaga PAUD di Kecamatan Carita Pandeglang, mereka kesulitan dalam menyusun dokumen perencanaan. Maka Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan kepala Lembaga PAUD di Kecamatan Carita Pandeglang dalam menyusun perencanaan yang baik dan terstruktur. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 10 lembaga TK dilaksanakan dengan metode seminar dan pelatihan secara luring maupun daring. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan 10 dokumen perencanaan dengan tambahan draft laporan sebagai simulasi kesesuaian antara program perencanaan dan laporan. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara, penyebaran angket kepuasan peserta terhadap kegiatan dan angket penguasaan penyusunan dokumen perencanaan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan ini memiliki manfaat untuk peningkatan wawasan dan kemampuan kepala lembaga TK dalam menyusun program perencanaan tahunan lembaga yang mereka pimpin.

Abstract

Chemistry learning, namely chemical equilibrium material, is considered less easy to understand for students because they are less able to represent mutiples of chemical representations, and science process skills are low. This problem was found referring to the results of a pre-research questionnaire of students and interviews with high school teachers in Surabaya. Overcoming this, learning media that helps students understand the material according to the characteristics of students is needed. The purpose of this research is to produce a product in the form of Student worksheet electronic that is feasible to develop on chemical equilibrium material. The method used is research and development with the 4D model which consists of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating stages. This research was only conducted up to the development stage. Student worksheet electronic on chemical equilibrium material was tested on students of class XI-5 SMA Negeri 3 Surabaya who had studied chemical equilibrium material was the subject of this study. This research instrument is in the form of a review sheet, validation sheet, student response questionnaire sheet, observation sheet, test sheet. This research produces guided inquiry Student worksheet electronic media oriented to multiple chemical representations on chemical equilibrium material. The results of Student worksheet electronic validation from the aspects of content validity and construct validity, each obtained a mode of 4 so that it is very valid to use. The results of the student response questionnaire reached an average of 88.3% positive response with a very practical category. The results of pretest and posttest data analysis obtained an increase in science process skills as much as 80% of students get a high criteria n-gain score. It is concluded that the guided inquiry Student worksheet electronic oriented to multiple chemical representations on chemical equilibrium material is feasible to use to train students' science process skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss the possibility of using a problem-based learning-oriented e-worksheet to teach students analytical skills on chemical equilibrium material. The feasibility of E-LKPD may be assessed in terms of validity, practicality, and efficacy. The approach employed in this study is Research and Development (R&D), utilizing the 4D development process derived by Tiagharajan, which covers Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Based on the findings of the research, the e-worksheet earned mode 3 on the validation sheet, indicating that it is legitimate. The e-worksheet was deemed extremely practical based on the findings of the student response questionnaire, with a percentage of 86.44%. The e-worksheet is certified effective in terms of analyzing t test findings with a significance value of 0.00, implying that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The n-gain score for analytical skills was 0.55 on element analysis, 0.59 on relationship analysis, and 0.59 on organizing analysis. Based on these findings, it is possible to infer that the problem-based learning-oriented e-worksheet produced to educate students' analytical abilities on chemical equilibrium content is suitable for usage.

Abstract

The object of the study is Pirates of the Carribean‘s Movie series 1. The data of the study are in the form of explicit sentences and written dialogues . the data of this study are collected by doing the following steps: watching movie carefully for many times, identifying the data related to antagonist character, inventorizing the data, classifying the data, simplifying the data . selecting the data , and at last reporting the data into appendixes . there are several techniques to analyze the data . they are exposing , explaining , interpreting , and the last one is summarizing. the interpretation and the explanation are done from the point of view of sociological approach . The result of this study shows that there are many antagonist conflicts among the characters. the diiferent characters arise cause of individual and selfish societal aspects . Besides, the antagonist character is also found many sectors and has bad effects toward the third social class such as intimidation, physical attack , avoidance between first class toward to third class , and the last extermination. The third class is someone at low caste of social class that always received many kind of humiliation and never get a respect by the highest class of social. Therefore, they give some reactions towards first class who practice antagonist character to the third class such as submission, avoidance, and integration. Finally this study is expected to give more knowledge and understanding about Antagonist character in the real life between the first class among our society.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the effect of using flashcards for teaching vocabulary of the third graders at a public elementary school in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia. This study used quantitative research with a pre-experimental design by applying pre-test and post-test instruments. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Independent T-test formula test to determine the difference between pre-test and post-test on the students’ achievement using flashcards. In the pre-test value there is an average value of 50 and the post-test value has an average value of 66 while for the t-test value of 7.615 was higher than t-table 2.003 at the level of significant 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df ) 56. The results of this study found that the use of flashcards had an effect on the students’ achievement of the vocabulary mastery.
