Abstract

Learning materials have been developed which then conducted the study and validation to the expert lecturers and then tested to the students to find out the validity of the feasibility of learning materials in the field of Industrial Chemistry as one of the supporting subjects of Ecopreneurship in Chemistry Department. From the data obtained can be concluded that learning materials in the form of Lesson Plan, Worksheet, and Instrument Rating get very good criteria. These criteria are obtained based on theoretical feasibility and empirical feasibility. Based on these results, learning tools developed can be used as learning tools for Industrial Chemistry courses to support ecopreneurship.

Abstract

Dian Novita Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo dheenov@yahoo.com   Abstract The study deals with the effectiveness of Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) strategy in teaching reading comprehension. The strategy is the combined-strategies instruction that draws on both reciprocal teaching and cooperative learning. Specifically, the study is aimed at finding out the significant improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement after being taught using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR). Based on the calculation of a t-test, the results show that there is a significant improvement in the students’ achievement after they got treated using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) strategy when studying reading comprehension in the classroom. The t-test indicates that the score of the tvalue is higher than ttable (2.18 > 2.021). Here, the experimental group represents a better improvement after they received the treatment. Key words: Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR), Reading Comprehension  Abstrak Penelitian ini berhubungan dengan keefektifan strategi  Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) dalam pengajaran membaca.

Abstract

This study aims to produce the Practical KIT along with its devices that are effectively used as learning media to train students SPS on the sub material of the Reaction Rate Law. The method used in this study is Research and Development design. The research instrument used consisted of a sheet of pre-test and post-test. Data analysis was carried out in descriptive quantitative to determine the effectiveness of Practical KIT along with the devices developed. The media is said to be effective if it meets 2 requirements, namely the percentage of classical completeness <85% and N-gain value <0.3. The developed media has been declared effective as indicated by the increase in the value of cognitive learning outcomes in the "Medium" and "High" categories with 100% classical completeness, an increase in the value of science process skills of students after using the Practical KIT media. "With classical completeness reaching 91.67%.

Abstract. The aims of this study to identify  the profile of students’  conseptions and misconceptions on the concept of reaction rate using a four-tier multiple choice diagnostic test instrument reported in the form of misconception profiles consisting of students' conceptions, students' misconceptions and the causes of misconceptions experienced by students. Based on the results of the study shown (1) the students’ conception profile is as much as 78% understand the concept, 21% misconceptions and 1% do not understand the concept, (2) the profile of student’s misconceptions in each sub-material that misconceptions on sub-material of concentration 16%, temperature 19%, surface area 41% and catalyst 24% and as many as 1 student (3%) including the high misconception category, 22 students (67%) included in the medium misconception category and 10 students (30%) were in the low misconception category. Students’ misconceptions vary in different causes such as; associative thinking 59%, preconceptions 25%, incomplete resoning 13%, humanistic thinking 2% and incorrect intuition 1% .  Keywords: four-tier multiple choice, misconception, reaction rate

Abstract

Learning can not only be done in the classroom with direct face-to-face activities but can now be done with the help of IT, for example with learned learning. Although learning with vi-learn or e-learn cannot indeed replace overall face-to-face learning in the classroom. The world of education cannot be separated from technological advances such as this study because sometimes in carrying out classroom learning there are obstacles that cannot be avoided. These obstacles can be administrative in nature such as national holidays which coincide with the schedule of courses and cannot be replaced on another day due to limited space and insufficient time. In this study, learning tools for the English for TEP-based learning program have been developed to learn the verbal communication skills of students majoring in chemistry. From the data from the validation results, it can be concluded that learning devices consisting of enrichment modules and worksheets are feasible to be used in learning lessons. Likewise, from the response data, students showed a positive response from students in using enrichment modules and worksheets.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the feasibility of learning models, student activities, learning outcomes, analytical skills, and students' responses by applying guided inquiry learning models. The research method used was one group pretest-posttest design. The results obtained were (1) the percentage of the quality of the implementation of learning for three consecutive meetings, namely 96.87%, 96.87%, and 93.75%. (2) Students’ activities relevant to practicing analytical skills for three successive meetings are 88.67%, 90%, and 90.67%. (3) Student learning outcomes increased with the percentage of n-gain in the high category of 94.11%. (4) Each component of the students' analytical skills was, respectively, elemental analysis of 64.71% in the high category. In comparison, the analysis of relationships and organizational principles was 47.06% in the high category. (5) The students' responses were 92.70% and 91.92% for the learning model and LKPD. Therefore, the guided inquiry learning model can train students' analytical skills.

Abstract

One of the skills that must be possessed in the 21st century is the ability to think creatively. This study aims to apply student worksheets (LKPD) to improve creative thinking skills through guided inquiry learning models. The research method used a quantitative descriptive method where only one class was used without a comparison class with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The instruments used were observation sheets of guided inquiry implementation, student activities, knowledge test sheets, creative thinking skills test sheets, and student response questionnaires. The research results obtained data: (1) The implementation of guided inquiry learning models at the first and second meetings went well with a percentage of 97.72% and 98.71%. (2) The percentage of relevant activities is higher than in irrelevant activities. (3) The learning outcomes of the knowledge test and the creative thinking skills test increased as evidenced by the N-gain value on the knowledge test of 0.79 with the high category and the creative thinking skills test of 0.77 with high criteria (4) The results of the response of students showed a response positive as evidenced by the results of the classical questionnaire percentage of 87.3% with the very good category. This shows that learning by applying guided inquiry-based LKPD is effective for improving students' creative thinking skills on the sub-material factors that affect the rate of reaction.
