Abstract

Language is a medium and means of communication used to convey information to the other person, enabling a smooth conversation. The purpose of this study was to understand the basic understanding of language in children and to explain various theories of child language development. The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach, incorporating a literature review. This approach was used to analyze existing theories in depth based on relevant written materials. The results of the study indicate that children's language is the primary means of communication that develops from birth and goes through various stages of development, from pre-language expression to the ability to master complex language structures. Understanding the nature and theories of child language development is crucial for teachers and parents so they can provide appropriate support at the child's developmental stage. This supports the optimal maturity of children's language skills.

Abstract

Language learning in elementary school is the foundation for improving students' literacy skills, which include writing, reading, and arithmetic. Language not only helps people communicate, but also helps them think, interact with others, and learn. Language learning must be properly designed, organized, and tailored to the characteristics of students because they are undergoing significant cognitive and linguistic growth during the elementary school stage of development. This study describes language development theory and its implementation in literacy learning in lower elementary school grades using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were analyzed by conducting research and describing the phases of children's language skill development. According to the results of the study, children language development progresses gradually and in line with their communication experiences. Reading skills improve from reading pictures to reading fluently, writing skills improve from free scribbling to copying meaningful writing, and numeracy skills improve from knowing concrete concepts to using number symbols. Therefore, literacy learning is very important for improving early literacy and has a major impact on future learning success. It is hoped that the results of this study will help educators create learning that is more communicative, contextual, and appropriate for the stages of language development.

Abstract

Era Industri 4.0 dan tuntutan keterampilan abad ke-21 membawa perubahan signifikan dalam cara manusia berinteraksi, bekerja, dan membangun pengetahuan. Bahasa, sebagai alat utama komunikasi dan konstruksi makna, memegang peran sentral dalam menghadapi kompleksitas perubahan tersebut. Peran dan fungsi bahasa dalam kehidupan manusia modern, terutama dalam konteks digitalisasi, kolaborasi global, serta kebutuhan literasi baru. Bahasa tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana penyampaian pesan, tetapi juga sebagai tempat menyapaikan pemikiran yang kritis, kreativ, memecahkan masalah, dan pembentukan identitas di ruang sosial maupun digital. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan bahasa yang adaptif baik dalam bentuk lisan, tulisan, maupun digital menjadi fondasi penting bagi kompetensi abad ke-21 seperti komunikasi efektif, kolaborasi lintas budaya, serta literasi teknologi. Dengan demikian, artikel ini menegaskan bahwa peran bahasa dalam era Industri 4.0 bukan sekadar alat komunikasi, melainkan instrumen strategis dalam mengembangkan kapabilitas manusia agar mampu berdaya saing dan responsif terhadap perubahan zaman.

Abstract

The Origin of Language is one of the major questions in the study of linguistics, anthropology, and human evolution. Various theories have been proposed to explain how and when human language emerged. This article aims to thoroughly examine the main theories regarding the evolution of language, including monogenesis and polygenesis, as well as biological approaches that see brain development as key in the evolution of language ability. The study uses a qualitative method with literature analysis to identify and compare the views of various experts. The results indicate that while there is no absolute consensus on the origin of language, multidisciplinary perspectives offer a more comprehensive understanding. In conclusion, the evolution of language is a complex process involving biological, social, and cognitive factors.

Abstract

The acquisition of language is a crucial process in human cognitive and social development. This article discusses the stages of language acquisition in children and the bodily tools that support this process, such as the brain, nervous system, and speech apparatus. The research includes a theoretical analysis from linguistic and neurobiological perspectives and explores the roles of the brain and articulatory organs in language acquisition. Various theories from recent experts, including studies from the last five years, are employed to review the role of each bodily tool in supporting language acquisition. Through a literature approach and empirical research, this article reveals the interaction between biological development and social environment in the language acquisition process. The conclusion drawn is that language acquisition results from a complex interaction between inherent biological abilities and environmental stimulation, particularly social interactions

Abstract

Berdasarkan struktur biologis alat suara dan organisasi otak manusia, bahwasanya otak memegang peranan penting dalam bahasa. Proses bahasa dalam otak meliputi dua hal. Apabila informasi yang masuk dalam bentuk lisan, maka bunyi-bunyi ditanggapi di lobe temporal, khususnya pada korteks primer pendengaran. Selanjutnya bunyi-bunyi tersebut akan diolah lalu dikirim ke daerah Wernicke untuk diinterpretasikan. Jika memerlukan adanya tanggapan secara verbal, maka terlebih dahulu interpretasi dikirim ke daerah Broca melalui fasikulus arkuat. Berbeda pada input yang berupa tulisan, masukan ditanggapi langsung oleh korteks visual di lobe osipital. Masukan tadi tidak dikirim langsung ke daerah Wernicke, akan tetapi harus melewati girus anguler. Girus anguler ini yang mengoordinasikan daerah pemahaman dengan daerah osipital. Selain itu, otak memiliki bagian yang menangani fungsi-fungsi intelektual dan bahasa yang dinamakan korteks serebral. Dalam korteks serebral manusia terdapat hemisfir kiri dan hemisfir kanan. Hemisfir kiri bertanggung jawab atas ihwal kebahasaan, Untuk itu jika terjadi gangguan pada hemisfir kiri secara otomatis kemampuan wicara berbahasa orang itu menurun dengan drastis. Hemisfir kanan lebih dominan dalam menangani tugas-tugas yang berkaitan dengan desain dan pola-pola visual. Hemisfir kanan juga memengaruhi kebahasaan seseorang, namun tidak sebesar hemisfir kiri. Jika hemisfir kanannya yang terganggu, maka kemampuan mereka dalam mengurutkan peristiwa sebuah cerita (narasi) menjadi kacau dan mendapatkan kesukaran menarik inferensi.

Abstract

Humans need communication to help survive, one of which is by using language as a communication tool. Language is the most effective communication tool in conveying messages, thoughts, feelings, goals to other people and makes it possible to create cooperation between people. So that the role of language becomes very dominant in various daily human activities. The aim of this research is to describe things related to language as a means of communication and communication in everyday life. The method used in this research is the literature review method, data is collected from relevant library data. The results of this research and discussion are to explain language as a communication tool which discusses the function of language as a human communication tool which includes five basic functions, namely the expression function, information function, exploration function, persuasion function and entertainment function. And explains communication in everyday life, which discusses why we communicate and the language used when communicating in everyday life. As social creatures, of course humans in their lives need communication to be able to establish relationships with other humans. Language is the most effective tool or medium for conveying thoughts, with language humans can interact and talk about anything.

Abstract

Manusia dalam kehidupannya tak bisa lepas dari bahasa. Bahasa menjadi sebuah sistem komunikasi verbal untuk menyuarakan ide, pikiran, hasrat dan keinginan dari satu manusia kepada manusia lainnya. Bentuk bahasa itu sendiri secara garis besar terbagi menjadi dua, bahasa lisan dan bahasa tulisan. Saking urgennya bahasa sebagai alat komunikasi utama membuat para pakar linguistik menyebut aktivitas berbahasa menjadi kebutuhan yang sama vitalnya dengan bernafas. Tak hanya manusia, sistem bahasa juga dipakai oleh seluruh makhluk hidup dengan berbagai bentuk dan jenisnya yang sangat beragam. Secara paradigmatik bahasa menjadi media yang fungsional tak sekadar sebagai sarana komunikasi, juga sebagai sarana aktualisasi diri dan bahkan ruang meditasi spiritual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sebagaimana dijabarkan Suryabrata, metode deskriptif adalah sebentuk penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengelaborasi ataupun menjelaskan secara komprehensif seluk-beluk seputar situasi dan kejadian. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kritis dengan lebih menekankan pada kekuatan analisis sumber-sumber dan data-data yang ada dengan mengandalkan teori-teori dan konsepkonsep yang ada untuk diinterpretasikan berdasarkan tulisan-tulisan yang mengarah kepada pembahasan strukturalFungsi sintaksis berkaitan dengan struktur dalam tata bahasa satuan yang dibahas untuk mengidentifikasi fungsi tiap-tiap satuan kata dalam kontruksi tubuh sintaksis. Fungsi sintaksis ada lima: subjek (S), predikat (P), objek (O), keterangan (Ket) dan komplemen (Kom).

Abstract

Language is a tool of human communication, through language humans can understand the meaning of our thoughts and words when communicating socially. Based on their research on several animal species, it is known that many animals have complex and intelligent ways to signal danger and communicate their basic needs. The method used in writing this article is a literature review or literature study, which is an article prepared based on a literature search, both national and international. The nature of language is unique and universal. A language that is unique means that each language has its own characteristics that other languages ​​do not necessarily have. Animal and human languages ​​have differences in that animal language is an instinctual language that does not need to be learned, while human language is a science that needs to be developed.

Abstract

This research examines the linguistic structure of language, focusing on phonology and morphology as fundamental components in understanding the function and conveying of meaning in language. Phonology examines the sound system, the process of sound production, and the role of sound in distinguishing meaning, while morphology examines the internal structure of words and the process of their formation. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, analyzing various linguistic theories to explain the role, relationship, and contribution of phonology and morphology in the study of language and its use. The results show that both are interrelated components and have a significant influence on pronunciation accuracy, vocabulary development, grammatical understanding, and communication effectiveness. This research confirms that mastery of linguistic structure, particularly phonology and morphology, is crucial for language learning, linguistic research, and the development of overall language competence.
