Abstract

One of the main agendas of the world of education today is to understand more deeply the nature of language and how this concept can be applied in the context of learning in Elementary Schools. Understanding the nature of language will help educators in formulating appropriate strategies in teaching Indonesian. In addition, this understanding will also provide a strong foundation for the development of students' language skills, especially in terms of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills as essential skills in language learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the nature of language and its implications in learning Indonesian in elementary schools. This research is a qualitative study with literature studies as the data collection technique. The results obtained in this study are that learning Indonesian in Elementary Schools has an important role in building students' communication and critical thinking skills. Language is not only a means of communication, but also the main medium in understanding various other subjects. However, this learning still faces challenges such as less interactive teaching methods, limited access to teaching materials, and differences in students' language backgrounds. The conclusion obtained is that in order to improve the effectiveness of learning, it is recommended that teachers use a more communicative and interactive approach, and utilize educational technology. Developing a curriculum that is adaptive to the needs of the digital era is also important for improving students' language skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the analysis of an earlier reading ability at second grade of elementary school students as well as factors that affect students' earlier reading ability. Researchers use a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. The data sources in this study were grade 2 teachers and parents of grade 2 SD Negeri 045 /I Sridadi. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and document studies. The data obtained is then analyzed through the stages consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and verification / drawing conclusions. The results showed that out of 16 second grade students of SD Negeri 045/1 Sridadi, it was found that 6 students, namely JA, AC, MR, AI, DA, and MN experienced problems in the realm of an earlier reading ability such as : (a) not being able to recognize letters, (b) reading syllables, (c) spelling words, (d) stringing words into simple sentences, and (e) reading short texts. Those aspects are the benchmark for students to have an earlier reading ability. Then students' difficulty in reading is caused by several factors, namely: (a) lack of interest in learning, (b) lack of self-confidence, (c) preschool education, and (d) attention from parents.

Abstract

This article examines the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the development of human language as well as its contribution to understanding communication systems in animals. Advances in digital technology enable AI to influence the use and acquisition of human language while also opening new opportunities for analyzing animal vocalizations such as those of dolphins, birds, and primates. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method based on a literature review that analyzes various linguistic theories, AI-related research, and studies on animal communication. The findings indicate that AI accelerates linguistic changes in humans and simultaneously enhances scientific capability in mapping patterns of animal communication. However, AI also presents challenges, including the homogenization of language and the risk of misinterpreting animal communication. In conclusion, AI serves as a major agent of change that facilitates the evolution of human language and broadens our understanding of animal communication.

Abstract

Language is a unique human ability that heavily depends on the brain's function as the center for processing and producing communication. This study aims to examine the relationship between language and the brain in shaping the human communication process. The method used in this research is a literature review by collecting and analyzing various scientific sources related to neurolinguistics and brain function in language use. The results show that the brain is divided into two main hemispheres; the left hemisphere plays a role in language, analysis, and logic, while the right hemisphere contributes to creativity and emotional expression. The Broca and Wernicke areas in the left brain hemisphere are the main centers for language production and comprehension, connected by the arcuate fasciculus nerve pathway. Language and thought interact in a complex manner, where the brain not only stores words but also regulates language use according to social context and individual experience. This study also emphasizes the importance of neurolinguistics in overcoming language disorders as well as in the development of education and modern communication technology. In conclusion, the relationship between language and the brain is a fundamental basis in human communication and cultural development, which helps build better learning methods, language therapy, and technology.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the role of the brain in the development and use of language in humans as the primary effective communication tool in forming harmonious social relationships. Using a systematic literature review method, the analysis focuses on the neurological functions of the left hemisphere, specifically the Broca's area for articulatory production and Wernicke's area for semantic comprehension, which are connected by the arcuate fasciculus, as well as the contribution of the right hemisphere to prosody and emotional context. The language process involves an integrated neural network in the cerebral cortex, working memory, sensory perception, and neuroplasticity that supports lifelong adaptation, including aphasia recovery. Neuroimaging findings such as fMRI confirm this real-time dynamic, opening implications for neurolinguistic teaching and rehabilitation strategies. Overall, language reflects a complex interaction among brain structures, genetic factors, the environment, and unique cognitive experiences in humans. Abstract

Modern linguistic studies view language as a system composed of several layers of structure: phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. These four aspects are interconnected in forming meaningful utterances that can be understood by both speakers and listeners. This study examines in depth how each language structure works, from sound formation to more complex meaning construction. A literature review method was used to examine linguistic theories from various influential international sources. The analysis shows that a comprehensive understanding of linguistic structure is important not only for language research but also for linguistics teaching, language education policy development, and discourse analysis practices. Overall, this study confirms that language is a multi-layered system with regular internal patterns that can be analyzed scientifically.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The origin and development of language in human communication is a fascinating and complex topic. This study aims to examine various theories regarding the origin of language, from imitation of natural sounds and animal calls, social convention theories, to theological perspectives. The method used is a literature review, analyzing credible written sources such as books, journals, and scientific articles. The findings indicate that language evolved from primitive nonverbal communication into a complex symbolic system, influenced by biological, social, and cultural factors. Language is not only a communication tool but also a reflection of cultural identity and historical legacy. This research provides insights into the social, cultural, and technological dynamics that drive language development in human interaction.

Abstract

Language acquisition in children is a biological, cognitive, and social process that develops from birth through early childhood. Each stage of language development is closely related to the maturation of speech organs, the development of the central nervous system, and the quality of environmental stimulation. This study aims to analyze the roles of speech organs and the nervous system in children’s language acquisition through direct observation. This research applied a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results indicate that organs such as the tongue, lips, larynx, jaw, and resonance cavities undergo gradual development that strongly influences articulation and phonological abilities. The central nervous system including Broca’s area, Wernicke’s area, the cerebellum, and several cranial nerves plays a major role in coordinating speech production and comprehension. This study emphasizes that language acquisition is an integrated process shaped by biological readiness, neurological maturation, and environmental stimulation.
