Abstract

Abstract

Tourism is like a “treasure” and needs to be developed in order to attract visitors to an area. The advantage of those who have a destination with the presence of various attractions, events, and local culture considered a bonus. The case study of the tourism sector in Samarinda City has not yet developed and is in line with expectations, therefore we have started aspects of the festival economic which are expanded into three dimensions (event management, sustainable tourism, and destination branding). Evaluation to find out how big its role is, filtered by multiple regression analysis. We collected the data based on surveys, in which it conducted direct interviews with respondents who had a good understanding of the local demographic, social and cultural conditions. The survey coverage has determined based on time and place considerations, so they aimed specifically it at the two-day “The 354th Anniversary of Samarinda City” in 2022. The outcome of this study concludes that event management has a significant effect on sustainable tourism and destination branding. In line with that, we also found that sustainable tourism has a significant effect on destination branding and sustainable tourism can play a significant role in both the relationship between event management and destination branding, because the results are significant. Further, our need to study to enrich our findings so that the novelty will continue. The novelty of the theoretical or practical landscape teaches about market segmentation in the middle of a transition, especially boosting tourism commodities towards new trends.

Abstract

The availability of land is dwindling along with the high population growth rate in each part of the Welang watershed, which has resulted in the health of the Welang watershed declining. Assessment of the health of the Welang watershed based on land criteria is expected to be able to determine the ability of the Welang watershed to provide for the needs of the community around the watershed. This study aims to determine the management and the condition of the carrying capacity of the watershed in terms of land criteria. Determination of watershed health was done by assessing the value of watershed carrying capacity according to the Regulation of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number: P.61/Menhut-II/2014 concerning Monitoring and Evaluation of Watershed Management. The carrying capacity value is reviewed based on land criteria, including: a) the percentage of critical land (PCL) through the calculation of critical land area, b) the percentage of vegetation cover (PVV) through the calculation of permanent vegetation area and c) the erosion index (EI) using the USLE approach. The Welang watershed is divided into upstream, middle and downstream areas of Bromo and Arjuno,. The results show that the carrying capacity of each part of the watershed is poor to moderate. The Arjuno upstream with the highest value of 50 is classified as bad class according to the percentage of PCL of 38.44%, PVV 66.92% and IE 1.88 tons/ha/year. Upstream Bromo has a value of 47.5 which is classified as poor class according to the PCL value of 28.10%, PVV 38.44% and EI 0.15 tons/ha/year. The downstream watershed has a value of 40, which is classified as medium class according to the percentage of critical land value of 0%, PVV 2.07% and EI 0.74 tons/ha/year and middle class has the lowest value 37.5 which is classified as medium class according to the PCL value of 6.44%, PVV 15.87% and EI 0.74 tons/ha/year. Based on the high PCL values in the upstream and middle areas which are classified as high, it can be concluded that the carrying capacity value of Arjuno and Bromo watershed is classified into the poor class as a result of the PCL values in the upstream and middle areas which are classified as high. Keywords: Carrying capacity, Erosion Index, Watershed

Abstract

Abstract

Welang watershed is a watershed located in Pasuruan Regency. Welang watershed has 522.89 km2. Changes that occur in the soil due to uncontrolled use can reduce soil productivity and reduce the main function of the soil. The factor causing soil damage is the increase in population in an area that is not following its function. The measurement of the standard criteria for soil damage refers to the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment No. 07 of 2006. This study aims to assess the status of land use against soil damage. The results showed that the Welang watershed in the central region of Pasuruan Regency had a damaged status, namely lightly damaged (R.I). Redox as a limiting factor in each different land use, namely irrigated rice fields, rainfed rice fields, mixed gardens, dry fields, and forests) in Purwosari and Purwodadi sub-districts. Efforts were made to improve the damage status with redox limiting factors with the addition of organics. Abstract

In this age of freedom of information, people want the government to provide excellent and transparent public information services. Unfortunately, these demands sometimes experience obstacles due to equivocality in organizational communication. One case was the occurrence of equivocality of excluded public information (or can be interpreted as confidential information) in the Ministry of Finance, which was interesting to study further. This research tried to examine comprehension differences to uncover the causes of public information service officers' interpretation differences and ways to overcome them. This research approach was qualitative with a case study method. The research results identified several causes for differences in the interpretation of confidential public information, including concerns regarding negative impacts, potential misuse of information by applicants, political aspects of the information requested, and officers' lack of understanding in interpreting excluded public information. In overcoming differences in interpretation, personnel (public information service officers) had an important role and were responsible for overcoming equivalency in organizational communication. In addition, intensive meetings, consequence tests, annual monitoring and evaluation, minutes of agreements, training, the legal classification of information, firmness in decision-making, and knowledge internalization were used to resolve interpretation differences.

Abstract

In design, control, and safety—especially in PWR reactors—the Reactivity Coefficient parameter is crucial. The validation of every new library for an accurate parameter prediction is then crucial. The purpose of this work is to determine the value of the reactivity coefficient at BOC and EOC using the WIMDS code based on ENDF/B-VIII.0 nuclear data files. The PWR-1175 MWe experiment critical reactors, which use Th-UO2 (thorium) fuel pellets, are a set of light water-moderated lattice experiments that are used for this purpose. The study is applied to the new cross-section libraries for WIMSD-5B and WIMSD-5B with ENDF/B-VIII.0 lattice code. The results showed that the fuel temperature reactivity coefficients for the PWR reactor at BOC and EOC using new libraries are – 4.07 pcm/K and – 2.72 pcm/K, respectively. Moderator Temperature Reactivity Coefficient at BOC and EOC are -1.8E-03 pcm/K and 3.73 pcm/K, respectively. Compared to the experimental data of the reactor core, the difference is in the range of 5.0 %. It can be concluded that for the PWR using thorium fuel as a model, all reactivity coefficients are negative and it is a good design for the safety of operation.
