Abstract

The use of water in the agricultural sector continues to be carried out to increase demand and availability in an economical and efficient manner. Irrigation is a way to meet plant needs. There are several irrigation systems, including the smart watering system. This system provides water flow from the main reservoir to the plant reservoir through outlet holes and hose channels. Then the water from the plant reservoir is absorbed through the capillary axis. On a household scale, capillary irrigation can be developed. This research was carried out on spinach plants using a treatment design method using two capillary axes by adjusting the water opening and closing system from the main reservoir. The research parameters consisted of water use, water loss and root fresh weight. The research results showed that evaporation occurred every day under normal conditions on days 1 to 10. There was an increase in evaporation on the 12th day until harvest. The main reservoir measures 46 cm long and 31 cm wide. The upper limit of the water level is 13 cm and the lower limit of the water level is 9 cm from the bottom of the main reservoir. The water level condition from day 1 until harvest time decreased by up to 9.8 cm. The fresh weight condition obtained on day 1 was 0 grams, day 13 was 21.23 grams and day 28 (harvest) was 37.12 grams.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of altitude differences on the physical and chemical quality of guava fruit (Psidium guajava L.), Getas Merah cultivar. The research was conducted in September 2023 at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati, Cirebon, using an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of three treatments (highland, midland, and lowland) and nine replications. Observed parameters included fresh weight, weight loss, fruit firmness, total soluble solids, vitamin C content, and organoleptic tests. The results showed that altitude significantly affected all observed parameters. Guavas from low and mid-altitudes showed better quality in terms of weight loss, total soluble solids, and organoleptic attributes, while guavas from high altitudes had higher initial weight, firmness, and vitamin C content. These differences were influenced by variations in temperature, humidity, rainfall, and harvest time across locations. It is recommended to choose planting locations based on desired fruit quality: low and mid-altitudes for better taste and appearance, and high altitudes for better texture and nutritional content. Further research using different guava cultivars is suggested to obtain broader insights.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving natural rock phosphate (BFA) and chicken manure on the growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) Bonanza F1 cultivar. The research was carried out in Kalisapu Village, Gunung Jati District, Cirebon Regency, from October to December 2021. The experimental design used was a factorial randomized block design (RAK). The treatment consisted of two factors which were repeated three times. The first factor is natural phosphate rock which consists of three levels, namely F1 = 250 kg/ha, F2 = 350 kg/ha, F3 = 450 kg/ha. While the second factor is chicken manure which consists of three levels, namely A1 = 5 tons/ha, A2 = 10 tons/ha, A3 = 15 tons/ha. Variables observed included plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root volume, ear diameter per plant, weight of cobs per plot and per plant, number of cobs per plot and per plant. The results showed that there was an interaction between the application of natural phosphate rock and chicken manure to the root volume of 42 DAP. Independent treatment of 350 kg/ha natural phosphate rock gave the best effect on stem diameter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi antara komposisi berbagai media tanam dan konsentrasi pupuk daun terhadap pertumbuhan bibit anggrek Dendrobium. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Green House Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Winaya Mukti, Jalan Raya Bandung Sumedang No. 29, Gunungmanik, Tanjungsari, Kabupaten Sumedang, Provinsi Jawa Barat dari bulan Juni sampai September 2018. Bahan yang digunakan adalah bibit tanaman anggrek Dendrobium yang berumur 6 bulan setelah aklimatisasi, media tanam terdiri dari pakis, sabut kelapa dan arang serta pupuk daun gandasil. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan metode percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan terdiri dari atas 2 kombinasi antara media tanam  (pakis + arang ; pakis + sabut ; arang + sabut) dan kosentrasi pupuk daun (1, 2, 3 g/l). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi pupuk daun dan komposisi berbagai media tanam berpengaruh yang nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman terhadap tinggi tanaman ( 98 dan 112 HST),  jumlah daun (112 HST) diameter batang (70, 84 dan 112 HST), jumlah dan panjang akar tanaman anggrek. Kombinasi media tanam arang dan sabut kelapa dengan pemberian pupuk daun sebanyak 1 g/l merupakan kombinasi perlakuan tertinggi terhadap semua pengamatan.

Abstract

The peri-urban area of Semarang City, particularly Pakintelan Village, Gunungpati District, has experienced rapid residential growth over the past decade. However, this growth has not been accompanied by adequate waste management infrastructure, especially for household organic waste. Many residents still dispose of or burn organic waste such as food scraps and vegetables, which negatively impacts the environment and public health. To address this issue, this community service initiative aimed to enhance residents' capacity to process organic waste into environmentally friendly and economically valuable products. The methodology involved in-depth interviews with neighborhood leaders to identify key issues, followed by a literature review to develop educational materials, and concluded with practical training on producing eco-enzyme from household kitchen waste. The program ran smoothly and received enthusiastic participation from the community. Residents showed a strong interest in applying eco-enzyme production in their daily lives. Moving forward, further research is recommended on developing a community-based organic waste management system, as not all residents have the space or time to process waste independently

Abstract

Learning to write poetry is one of the materials found in class X at the high school level. This research aims to improve poetry writing skills in class X students at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang through the application of keyword techniques assisted by photo media. This research uses quantitative methods with a classroom action research (PTK) design involving two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used include observation, tests and documentation. The results of the research show that using keyword techniques assisted by photo media can improve students' poetry text writing skills. The improvement in poetry text writing skills can be seen from the test results given, where in the first cycle of activities the percentage was 27.8%, while in the second cycle the percentage increased to 94.4%. Thus, the keyword technique assisted by photo media has proven to be effective in improving poetry writing skills in class X students at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang. It is hoped that these findings can become a reference for teachers in implementing innovative methods to improve students' writing skills. The implementation of this technique also shows that the use of visual media can stimulate students' imagination, so that it is easier for them to express ideas and feelings into poetry. This research makes a positive contribution to the development of more creative and effective teaching methods in the field of literacy.

Abstract

Fabrikasi film tipis di atas substrat kaca yang homogen dengan sifat optik dan listrik yang unggul masih menjadi tantangan. Oleh sebab itu, pemilihan metode serta parameter fabrikasi menjadi hal yang penting untuk diteliti. Pada penelitian ini, film tipis ZnO doping Mg (ZnO:Mg) difabrikasi pada substrat kaca menggunakan metode Microwave Assisted Spray Pyrolysis dengan memvariasikan tekanan spray nitrogen, yaitu sebesar 1,4; 2,1; 2,8; 3,5; dan 4,2 kg/cm2. Film tipis yang telah difabrikasi kemudian diuji dengan UV-Vis dan IV-meter untuk menganalisis sifat optik dan listriknya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tekanan spray memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap karakteristik optik dan listrik dari film tipis ZnO, Dengan peningkatan tekanan spray, film tipis yang dihasilkan cenderung memiliki ketebalan yang lebih seragam, yang berkontribusi pada peningkatan transparansi optik dan penurunan nilai resistivitas listrik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan. Dalam penelitian ini, sampel yang digunakan adalah film tipis ZnO (seng oksida yang didoping dengan magnesium). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi dan memahami pengaruh variasi tekanan spray pada proses sintesis terhadap sifat optik dan listrik dari film tipis ZnO yang dihasilkan menggunakan metode Microwave Assisted Spray Pyrolysis (MASP). Implikasi penelitian ini adalah penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru tentang bagaimana parameter proses sintesis dapat diatur untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja material. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa dengan pengaturan tekanan spray yang tepat, film tipis ZnO.

Abstract

This study aims to identify trends and directions of studies related to the socio-scientific issues (SSI) approach in physics education. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, 11 articles published between 2020-2025 were analyzed through a bibliometric approach and content analysis. The results show that the SSI approach is not only utilized as a learning strategy, but also as a transformative tool that integrates cognitive, affective, and social values aspects. Energy topics and environmental issues dominate the learning context, while other physics topics such as waves and modern physics are less explored. In addition, there is a tendency to apply SSI at the high school level, which is considered more cognitively prepared and reflective. This research recommends diversifying the context of SSI and strengthening teachers' capacity in designing contextual and meaningful physics learning in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

Hipertensi didefinisikan dengan tekanan darah lebih dari atau sama dengan 130/80 mmHg. Sekitar 80-95% kasus mengalami hipertensi esensial, sehingga tidak ada penyebab spesifiknya. Keadaan hipertensi biasanya hanya memunculkan sedikit gejala juga seringkali luput dari perhatian, sehingga dapat memicu penyakit lain, contohnya gagal jantung, hipertrofi ventrikel kiri, stroke, penyakit ginjal stadium akhir, hingga kematian. Peran mahasiswa kesehatan khususnya farmasi dapat menjadi penyaluran informasi pada keluarga mengenai bahaya hipertensi dan cara penanganannya melalui pemberian obat. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan dalam bentuk Komunikasi, Informasi dan Edukasi (KIE) terkait penggunaan obat antihipertensi. Sosialisasi dan evaluasi penggunaan obat antihipertensi kepada peserta dilaksanakan secara online dengan menggunakan zoom meeting. Sebelum pemaparan materi dilakukan pretest terlebih dahulu. Setelah selesai pemaparan materi, para peserta diberikan posttest untuk mengetahui pengetahuan peserta atas materi yang disampaikan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada hari Rabu tanggal 25 Oktober 2023 pukul 09.00-12.00 WIB. Peserta kegiatan aktif dalam diskusi dan memberikan pertanyaan. Hasil posttest menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman dan peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiwa terkait penggunaan obat antihipertensi sudah baik yang terlihat dari peningkatan poin dari pretest sebelumnya. Secara khusus mahasiswa farmasi yang spesifik belajar terapi hipertensi menjadi lebih mendalami kendala yang didapat oleh masyarakat. Perlu adanya kegiatan-kegiatan serupa yang rutin dilakukan untuk mencegah kesalahan penggunaan obat antihipertensi

Abstract

ABSTRAKPendahuluan: Resin akrilik polimerisasi panas memiliki kekurangan diantaranya mudah patah. Permasalahan tersebut dapat dicegah dengan cara meningkatkan kekuatan resin akrilik terutama pada kekuatan transversalnya, salah satunya dengan penambahan bahan penguat berupa nanoselulosa serat daun nanas. Serat daun nanas memiliki kandungan selulosa yang tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh penambahan nanoselulosa serat daun nanas 1, 1,3, dan 1,5% terhadap kekuatan transversal basis gigi tiruan resin akrilik polimerisasi panas. Metode: Penelitian ini  adalah penelitian eksperimental  laboratoris. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada sampel basis gigi tiruan resin akrilik polimerisasi panas  dengan kelompok  tanpa penambahan nanoselulosa serat daun sebagai kelompok kontrol (kelompok A) dan dengan penambahan nanoselulosa serat daun nanas 1% (kelompok B), 1,3% (kelompok C) dan 1,5% (kelompok D)  sebagai kelompok perlakuan. Sampel dibuat dengan ukuran 65×10×2,5 mm sebanyak 24 sampel. Sampel diuji dengan Universal Testing Machine untuk mengetahui nilai kekuatan transversal. Hasil: Berdasarkan uji univariat, nilai rata-rata dan standar deviasi kekuatan transversal pada kelompok A adalah (92,75 ± 2,27) MPa, sedangkan untuk kelompok B sebesar (124,94 ± 1,32) MPa, kelompok C sebesar (134,81 ± 1,15) MPa dan kelompok D sebesar (141,23 ± 1,88) MPa. Uji Anova satu arah didapatkan hasil yang signifikan dengan nilai p= 0,001 (p < 0,05) dan uji LSD yang signifikan dengan nilai p = 0.001 (p<0.05). Simpulan:  Terdapat pengaruh penambahan nanoselulosa serat daun nanas terhadap kekuatan transversal basis gigi tiruan resin akrilik polimerisasi panas.Kata kunci: resin akrilik polimerisasi panas; nanoselulosa; serat daun nanas; kekuatan transversalThe effect of pineapple leaf fibers nanocellulose addition on the transverse strength of heat cured acrylic resin denture base: a laboratory experimental studyABSTRACT Introduction: Heat polymerized acrylic resin is easily fractured and can be prevented by increasing the transverse strength by adding pineapple leaf fibers nanocellulose as reinforcing material. Pineapple leaf fibers have a high cellulose content. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adding 1, 1.3,  and 1.5 wt% pineapple leaf fibers nanocelluloseto the heat-cured acrylic resin denture based on its transverse strength. Methods: This study was experimental laboratory and conducted on heat-polymerized acrylic resin denture base  with no addition of pineapple leaf fiber nanocellulose as control group (Group A) and  the group that adding of 1%(wt%), 1.3% and 1.5% pineapple leaf fiber nanocellulose as the treatment group (named B,C and D). Sample size of (65×10×2.5) mm with totally 24 samples. Samples were tested with Universal Testing Machine to determine the transverse strength value. Results: Based on univariate test to determine the average value and standard deviation of the  transverse strength,  the result showed that the control group had  (92,75 ± 2,27) MPa, group A was (124,94 ± 1,32) MPa, group B was (134,81 ± 1,15) MPa, and group C was (141,23 ± 1,88) MPa. The one-way ANOVA and LSD tests showed significant results with p-value = 0.001 (p < 0.05) and 0.001 (p <0.05).
