Abstract

ABSTRAK Proses pembelajaran IPA di kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 27 Semarang sebagian besar siswa rendah dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis. Respon umpan balik dari siswa kurang kritis terhadap pertanyaan dan penjelasan dari guru untuk keaktifan siswa. Berdasarkan penelitian awal diketahui dengan metode ceramah dari 30 siswa terdapat 14 siswa yang memiliki nilai rata-rata di atas KKM 78, sedangkan 16 siswa dibawah KKM 78. Penelitian Tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) di SMP Negeri 27 Semarang. Subyek penelitian siswa kelas VIII C sejumlah 30 siswa dilakukan dua siklus setiap siklusnya diadakan dua pertemuan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh ketuntasan siswa pada siklus I di atas KKM 78 berjumlah 22 siswa (73,33%) siswa belum tuntas dibawah KKM 78 berjumlah 8 siswa (26,66%). Ketuntasan siswa pada siklus II di atas KKM 78 berjumlah 30 siswa (100%) dan siswa belum tuntas dibawah KKM 78 tidak ada. Disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran sudah meningkat dan hasil tersebut sudah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yang telah ditentukan yaitu 80% karena ketuntasan hasil belajar mencapai 100% sehingga penerapan metode Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam proses pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP Negeri 27 Semarang pada materi getaran gelombang dan bunyi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diatas, maka model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penerapan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Quizizz untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis IPA materi Gerak dan Gaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII C SMP Negeri 21 Semarang tahun ajaran 2022-2023. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus, setiap siklus memiliki 2 kali pertemuan. Tahapan setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan (acting), pengamatan tindakan (observing), dan analisis data hasil pengamatan tindakan (reflecting). Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes tertulis yang terdiri dari tes pilihan ganda beralasan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan N-Gain, dan juga analisis tanggapan siswa terkait media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan Quizizz dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII C SMP Negeri 21 Semarang tahun ajaran 2022-2023 pada materi Gerak dan Gaya. Hal ini terlihat dari pencapaian kemampuan berpikir kritis yang mengalami peningkatan dari pra siklus, siklus 1 dan siklus 2. Hasil rata-rata keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dicapai pada pra siklus adalah 74,40, pada akhir siklus 1 adalah 82,98, dan pada akhir siklus 2 menjadi 88,59. Nilai N-Gain pada Siklus 1 mendapatkan hasil sebsar 0,3 dengan kategori Sedang dan pada Siklus 2 mendapatkan hasil sebesar 0,6 dengan kategori Sedang. Selain itu jumlah siswa yang mendapatkan nilai minimal 80 pada Prasiklus sebesar 51,51%, pada siklus 1 jumlah siswa yang mendapatkan nilai minimal 80 sebesar 75,75% dan pada siklus 2 jumlah siswa yang mendapatkan nilai minimal 80 sebesar 93,93%. Hasil respon Angket tanggapan peserta didik didapatkan hasil sebesar 81,74% dengan kategori sangat efektif dalam penggunaan media Quizizz.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi telah membawa dampak signifikan dalam bidang pendidikan. Salah satu pendekatan yang diusulkan untuk memenuhi tantangan ini adalah penggunaan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran, terutama dalam mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21. Pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh model mental yang terbentuk melalui proses kognitif dan pengalaman hidup. Salah satu tantangan dalam pembelajaran IPA adalah kurangnya penekanan pada tingkat submikroskopis, yang mempengaruhi pemahaman siswa karena pembelajaran lebih terfokus pada tingkat makroskopis dan simbolik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur dengan mengkaji berbagai literatur jurnal nasional dan jurnal internasional dari sumber-sumber ilmiah yang relevan. Berdasarkan tinjauan literatur didapatkan hasil bahwa e-modul berbantuan Augmented Reality (AR) dapat dijadikan alternatif solusi untuk meningkatkan model mental siswa dalam memvisualisasikan konsep-konsep materi tingkat submikroskopis secara lebih jelas.

Abstract

Perkembangan zaman yang semakin berkembang pesat pada abad ke-21 mencirikan adanya revolusi industri 4.0 dimana muncul perubahan secara besar di berbagai sektor kehidupan yang membuka pagar pembatas antara teknologi dan dunia digital yang melebur pada setiap aspek kehidupan. Hadirnya era revolusi industri 4.0 menekan setiap negara secara global untuk mampu beradaptasi dan bersaing sehingga tidak tergerus dengan bandul perubahan yang bergerak secara cepat dan dinamis. Revolusi industri telah menyebabkan disrupsi diberbagai sektor kehidupan, termasuk berdampak besar pada bidang pendidikan. Pada era revolusi industri 4.0 ini, pemecahan masalah dapat dilakukan dengan mudah dan dapat disajikan dalam bentuk yang jelas dan menarik dengan bantuan komputer. Salah satu kemampuan yang dapat mendukung hal tersebut adalah Computational Thinking. Pembelajaran ilmu komputer dan pemograman masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, terdapat alternatif solusi untuk mengintegrasikan pendekatan STEM dalam pembelajaran IPA untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir komputasi. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel literatur ini adalah untuk menganalisis strategi penerapan STEM pada pembelajaran IPA untuk melatih kemampuan Computational Thinking siswa dan untuk menganalisis keefektifan penerapan pembelajaran STEM dalam melatih kemampuan Computational Thinking siswa pada Pembelajaran IPA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur dari jurnal internasional maupun nasional pada database (Google Scholar, Science Direct, Eric, Scopus, dan Springer). Berdasarkan tinjauan literatur didapatkan hasil bahwa STEM efektif diterapkan untuk melatih kemampuan Computational Thinking pada pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

This study reviews 50 articles on learning styles in science education, focusing on approaches, media, and learning models from 2012-2022. Every single student with different intelligence certainly has a different learning style. Learning styles provide knowledge about various ways of student learning and important information about student preferences; consequently, they can be utilized to optimize student learning processes. Integrating learning styles in the learning process aims to facilitate students with certain learning styles; therefore, their achievements can be improved sharply. The method of this research is SLR (systematic literature review) with the following phases: (1) determining research questions; (2) determining criteria; (3) generating a framework for articles; (4) searching, filtering, and selecting the data; (5) analyzing and interpreting the content of each reviewed article. This study discusses the distribution of research focused on the attributes of the content, the topics covered in the implementation of learning styles in science education, and the characteristics of existing learning style-based learning media. In conclusion, a literature review has been carried out on learning styles in science education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the validity, reliability, level of difficulty and differentiating power of critical thinking skills test items, particularly on the topic of temperature, heat, and expansion. The test items consist of eight essay questions which refer to the eight elements of critical thinking according to Inch. The subjects of this research were 31 students in class VIII of junior high school. Before being tested on students, the critical thinking skills test items were evaluated by five experts. The method used to analyze validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and differentiating power of items is the Rasch model using MINISTEP software version 4.3.1. The results of the analysis show that the test items can be used to test students' critical thinking skills on the topic of temperature, heat, and expansion. For future education practice, the test items can be combined with education technology, like flipbooks, to know the development of students' critical thinking skills

Abstract

Indonesia has known tea and ngeteh culture since its ancestors and until now this culture has been preserved. Thus "Ngeteh" is the local wisdom of the Indonesian people. The community also has knowledge about the diversity of tea, the benefits of tea for health, how to make tea, and know the taste and aroma of tea. This research aims to downstream the results of the reconstruction of the original knowledge of the community into a culture of tea in the context of ethnoscience as a vehicle for learning chemistry, as well as for the conservation of tea culture as a form of Indonesian local wisdom. This type of research is research with an ethno-scientific approach which includes data collection activities, verification and reduction, conceptualization and validation, as well as scientific reconstruction and explanation. The results of the reconstruction of scientific knowledge are documented as a learning resource for organic chemistry of natural materials and to equip students with the character of local wisdom. Data analysis was carried out in a descriptive qualitative manner regarding the results of the reconstruction of scientific knowledge based on community knowledge regarding the Ngeteh culture. The results of the study were concluded. The results of the analysis of the discussion data can be concluded (1) the process of reconstruction and explanation of the community's knowledge about tea, tea water, tea making, tea culture and its benefits for health has been produced, (2) informants as research subjects stated that tea and tea have been well known by the people of Indonesia and tea has benefits for the body (3) the method of making tea, ngeteh, and the taste of tea water contains scientific concepts related to chemical concepts regarding the process of extraction, oxidation, enzymatic reactions, and (3) in tea, tea water contains secondary metabolites of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins which cause bitterness and cure disease

Abstract

The development of Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) impacts Education 5.0 to improve the quality and equity of education services in Indonesia, especially in science learning. This study aims to analyze the ability of pre-service science teachers to use TPACK (Technology Pedagogical Content Knowledge) in online learning. The survey research method is used to get information about TPACK pre-service science teachers' ability to carry out online learning. The sample consisted of 132 pre-service science teachers from education Universities in Indonesia. The research instrument consisted of 42-item questionnaires that assessed TPACK components in online learning. The results showed that the percentage of pre-service science teachers' average score on TPACK ability is 79.87%. The percentage of average scores for each component TPACK is 78.68% for Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), 79.54% for Content Knowledge (CK), 80.73% for Technological Knowledge (TK), 78.94 for Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), 81.73% for Technology Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK), 80.98% for Technology Content Knowledge (TCK), and 78.64% for TPACK. The highest average scores on TPACK are TPK, TCK, and TK. It is concluded that pre-service science teachers' TPACK skills in online learning related to the use of technology are superior to content knowledge and pedagogy.

Abstract

One of the persistent challenges in education is the lack of innovation in teaching materials. Conventional textbooks often fail to connect scientific content with real-world environmental issues, contributing to students’ low levels of scientific literacy. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a socio-scientific issue (SSI)-based booklet integrated with Islamic values in enhancing students’ scientific literacy. Utilizing the Borg & Gall research and development model, the study employed purposive sampling involving 33 students from class VIIF at MTs Nurul Huda Tarub. Data were collected through questionnaires and literacy tests. Expert validation and effectiveness analyses were conducted using expert judgment and paired sample t-tests, respectively. The booklet received high validation scores: 96% from material experts, 97% from media experts, 97% from educators for practicality, and 98% from student evaluations. The paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000, indicating a statistically significant improvement in scientific literacy post-intervention. The findings affirm that the developed booklet is highly valid and effective in promoting students' scientific literacy. This suggests that embedding Islamic values within SSI-based learning materials can foster more contextual, meaningful, and character-building science education, supporting the holistic development of students’ scientific reasoning and religious awarenessKeywords: booklet, integrated islamic values, scientific literacy.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the lack of optimal integration of socio-ethnic values in the test items, which potentially hinders students' understanding of the local socio-cultural context. This study aims to analyze the essay test items with a socio-ethnic nuance in the Social Studies material for fifth-grade elementary school students, focusing on validity, reliability, discrimination power, difficulty level, and representation of socio-ethnic values. The method used is quantitative with a descriptive-analytical approach. The instruments used are essay test items that have been developed and validated by experts. Data analysis was conducted using statistical analysis techniques to measure validity, reliability, discrimination power, and difficulty level of the items, as well as a qualitative approach to assess the representation of socio-ethnic values. The results indicate that most items have met the criteria for high validity and reliability; however, there are several items with a relatively high difficulty level and low discrimination power. The representation of socio-ethnic values in the items was also well identified, although there is still room to strengthen the integration of local culture in the test items. The impact of this research is an increased awareness of the importance of socio-ethnic values in elementary education, which can help students understand and appreciate Indonesia's cultural diversity in a more inclusive and contextual educational setting.
