Abstract

This study aims to map research trends, methodological tendencies, and scholarly contributions related to literacy learning through the Let’s Read application in primary schools during the period 2019–2025. This review is motivated by the growing demand for effective digital literacy media to address low reading interest and limited text comprehension among elementary students. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by the PRISMA 2020 protocol, the study followed four stages: identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and thematic synthesis. Data were collected from multiple academic databases, including Google Scholar, Garuda, SINTA, DOAJ, ResearchGate, and ScienceDirect, resulting in 32 relevant articles that met the inclusion criteria. The findings reveal a clear shift in research trends from an initial focus on basic literacy skills toward the integration of multimodal features, motivational strategies, and affective dimensions in digital literacy learning. Methodologically, the reviewed studies were dominated by qualitative and experimental designs, with an increasing use of mixed-methods approaches in recent years. Substantively, the majority of studies reported positive effects of Let’s Read on students’ reading interest, comprehension, and engagement, supported by its interactive, visual, and narrative elements. This review fills the gap of a systematic synthesis focusing specifically on Let’s Read as a digital literacy tool in primary education and highlights the need for longitudinal studies, stronger family involvement, and cross-cultural investigations to optimize its implementation and impact.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the joyful learning approach combined with instructional media in improving Mathematics learning outcomes among fifth-grade elementary school students. The review was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data sources were collected by searching documentation and reviewing all articles relevant to the keywords “joyful learning,” “instructional media,” “mathematics,” and “fifth grade.” The findings indicate that the implementation of joyful learning consistently provides a positive impact on the improvement of Mathematics learning outcomes among fifth-grade students. This approach is able to create an enjoyable, interactive, and meaningful learning atmosphere, thereby increasing students’ motivation, participation, and conceptual understanding. The use of instructional media—whether concrete, digital, or game-based—reinforces the effectiveness of joyful learning by providing varied learning experiences aligned with students’ developmental characteristics. Based on the findings, the majority of studies conclude that the combination of joyful learning and instructional media is effective for implementation in Mathematics learning to improve fifth-grade students’ learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that the joyful learning approach supported by instructional media is an innovative strategy worthy of application in fifth-grade Mathematics instruction at the elementary school level

Abstract

Kesenjangan antara konten matematika dan strategi instruksional telah berkontribusi pada rendahnya motivasi siswa dan kinerja berhitung yang buruk. Meskipun banyak penelitian telah meneliti media interaktif berbasis game seperti Math Playground, penelitian yang ada tetap terfragmentasi dan tidak memiliki sintesis yang komprehensif tentang tren, efektivitas, dan tantangan implementasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren, manfaat, tantangan, dan efektivitas Math Playground dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) mengikuti protokol PRISMA. Data dikumpulkan dari Google Scholar untuk artikel yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2020 dan 2025. Berdasarkan kriteria inklusi yang telah ditentukan, 33 studi dipilih dari 204 artikel awal untuk analisis mendalam. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Math Playground secara konsisten meningkatkan motivasi, keterlibatan, dan pemahaman konseptual siswa dalam matematika. Bukti dari studi kasus kualitatif juga menunjukkan bahwa siswa menjadi lebih aktif dan partisipatif selama pembelajaran. Namun, beberapa tantangan tetap ada, termasuk infrastruktur digital yang terbatas dan kesiapan guru. Kebaruan dari penelitian ini terletak pada sintesis komprehensif temuan empiris menggunakan analisis konten dan tren, memberikan pemahaman multidimensi tentang Math Playground dalam pendidikan matematika. Studi ini berkontribusi dengan mengidentifikasi pola penelitian yang dominan dan area yang kurang dieksplorasi, menawarkan wawasan untuk mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran matematika yang lebih efektif dan berpusat pada siswa dalam pendidikan dasar. The gap between mathematical content and instructional strategies has contributed to low student motivation and poor numeracy performance. Although many studies have examined game-based interactive media such as Math Playground, existing research remains fragmented and lacks a comprehensive synthesis of trends, effectiveness, and implementation challenges. This study aims to analyze the trends, benefits, challenges, and effectiveness of Math Playground in mathematics learning. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following the PRISMA protocol. Data were collected from Google Scholar for articles published between 2020 and 2025. Based on predefined inclusion criteria, 33 studies were selected from an initial 204 articles for in-depth analysis. The findings indicate that Math Playground consistently improves students’ motivation, engagement, and conceptual understanding in mathematics. Evidence from a qualitative case study also shows that students become more active and participatory during learning. However, several challenges remain, including limited digital infrastructure and teacher readiness. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive synthesis of empirical findings using both content and trend analysis, providing a multidimensional understanding of Math Playground in mathematics education. This study contributes by identifying dominant research patterns and underexplored areas, offering insights for developing more effective and student-centered mathematics learning strategies in elementary education.

Abstract

Assessment of science learning outcomes in junior high school science education is still largely dominated by conventional tests that do not adequately accommodate differences in students’ abilities and provide limited diagnostic feedback. This limitation highlights the need for a more adaptive and data-driven assessment system. This study aims to map the needs for developing a web-based Computerized Adaptive Test (CAT) system integrating Artificial Intelligence and Item Response Theory (AI-IRT) for science assessment at the junior high school level. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach at the Analysis stage of the ADDIE development model. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with one junior high school science teacher and five students, and analyzed using NVivo through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The findings reveal six key needs: adaptive assessment systems, measurement fairness and precision, diagnostic feedback, efficiency and automation, infrastructure readiness, and user-friendly interface design. These findings demonstrate the potential of integrating AI and IRT to support more accurate, personalized, and efficient science assessment. The results provide a conceptual and operational foundation for developing an AI-IRT-based CAT web system tailored to junior high school science learning.

Abstract

In science education in elementary schools, students often have difficulty understanding abstract concepts, which leads to low motivation and poor learning outcomes. Therefore, innovative, interactive learning media that can visualize concepts concretely are needed. This study aims to examine trends in the development of augmented reality (AR) media in science education in elementary schools for the period 2020–2025. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the help of Publish or Perish software connected to Google Scholar. From the initial 500 articles, a gradual selection was made based on the criteria of relevance, feasibility, and topic suitability, resulting in 22 articles being analyzed. The results of the study show that the trend of AR media development will increase significantly in 2024–2025, indicating a high level of interest among researchers in interactive technology-based media. AR media has been proven to be feasible and effective for use in science education because it can improve students' conceptual understanding, motivation, creativity, and learning outcomes, especially for abstract material. Additionally, various studies developed AR using the ADDIE model, Borg and Gall, and the Assemblr Edu platform to strengthen interactivity and practicality. In conclusion, AR-based learning media has great potential for implementation in elementary schools as a 21st-century learning innovation capable of addressing.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (Higher Order Thingking Skills/HOTS) dan hasil belajar merupakan dua komponen penting dalam pembelajaran IPAS yang harus dilakukan peserta didik untuk menghadapi tuntutan kurikulum dan perkembangan abad 21. Berbagai penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan HOTS peserta didik sekolah dasar masih rendah dan pembelajaran IPAS sering berlangsung secara konvensional sehingga kurang memfasilitasi proses berpikir mendalam. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat merangsang keterampilan berpikir serta meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik, salah satunya adalah project Based Learning (PjBL).  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan PjBL dalam meningkatkan HOTS dan hasil belajar peserta didik sekolah dasar pada pembelajaran IPAS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan pendekatan PRISMA, mencakup 60 Artikel terbitan tahun 2020-2025 dengan sumber artikel dari Crossref. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa model PjBL terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan HOTS, memperkuat pemahaman konsep, serta meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik melalui kegiatan belajar yang kolaboratif, bermakna, dan berorientasi pada pemecahan masalah. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Project Based Learning secara konsisten dan terarah mampu mendukung pengembangan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dan pencapaian belajar IPAS pada peserta didik sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki relevansi yang tinggi mengingat peran krusial pola asuh dalam tahap awal perkembangan kepribadian dan kognitif, terutama pada tingkat sekolah dasar, yang merupakan periode pembentukan kemampuan berpikir dan karakter anak. Pemahaman mendalam tentang dampak pola asuh terhadap perkembangan kognitif dan karakter anak sangat penting, mengingat efek jangka panjang yang dapat memengaruhi keterampilan berpikir kritis, keterampilan sosial, disiplin, dan rasa tanggung jawab mereka. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki bagaimana berbagai praktik pengasuhan mempengaruhi aspek tersebut pada siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tinjauan pustaka, yang menganalisis berbagai buku, jurnal, dan studi sebelumnya untuk mendapatkan gambaran komprehensif tentang pengaruh praktik pengasuhan terhadap perkembangan anak. Melalui pendekatan ini, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi gaya pengasuhan yang mendukung atau menghambat perkembangan sosial, emosional, dan kognitif anak di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Literasi sains dipandang penting sebagai keterampilan abad 21 yang mencakup kemampuan memahami konsep ilmiah, berpikir kritis, serta mengaitkan ilmu pengetahuan dengan kehidupan nyata. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian teoretis yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi penggunaan kearifan lokal Minangkabau dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa sekolah dasar melalui pembelajaran IPA. Kajian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan metode PRISMA dan analisis bibliometrik berbantuan perangkat lunak VOSviewer. Data diperoleh dari berbagai basis data ilmiah seperti Google Scholar, DOAJ, ERIC, dan Sinta, dengan rentang waktu publikasi 2020–2025. Dari total 175 artikel yang teridentifikasi, hanya 35 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan dianalisis lebih lanjut. Hasil kajian literatur menunjukkan bahwa integrasi budaya lokal ke dalam pembelajaran IPA mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual, motivasi belajar, serta memperkuat identitas budaya siswa. Kearifan lokal Minangkabau, seperti sistem pertanian tradisional, filosofi alam, dan praktik lingkungan, dapat dijadikan sumber kontekstual untuk mengajarkan konsep sains secara lebih bermakna. Meskipun demikian, tantangan yang dihadapi mencakup keterbatasan pengetahuan guru mengenai kearifan lokal, kurangnya dukungan kurikulum, serta keterbatasan media pembelajaran berbasis budaya. Dengan demikian, diperlukan model pembelajaran IPA berbasis kearifan lokal Minangkabau yang terstruktur serta pelatihan guru agar pembelajaran lebih kontekstual, efektif, dan relevan dengan kehidupan siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan studi literatur yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren pengembangan buku saku IPAS di sekolah dasar pada periode 2020–2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui Publish or Perish yang terhubung dengan indeksasi Google Scholar. Pencarian artikel yang kemudian diseleksi berdasarkan kriteria inklusi hingga diperoleh 21 artikel yang dianalisis lebih lanjut. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review.  Hasil kajian menunjukkan penelitian yang paling banyak dilakukan pada tahun 2023 dengan jenjang kelas V paling banyak dijadikan sebagai subjek pengembangan media pembelajaran buku saku dengan variasi bentuk media pembelajaran buku saku didominasi bentuk cetak dengan variasi karakteristik yang paling populer adalah mind mapping. Hasil tersebut memberikan gambaran terhadap kecenderungan para penelitian dalam memilih subjek penelitian, variasi bentuk dan karakteristik media buku saku yang dikembangankan di sekolah dasar. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah menjadi referensi dalam buku saku yang inovatif dan efektif untuk mendukung pendidikan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

21st-century science education demands mastery of inquiry skills as part of higher-order thinking. However, in learning about elements and compounds in an agricultural context, students often struggle to visualize abstract microscopic processes, resulting in low analytical ability. This study aims to develop a Generative AI Gemini Veo 3 video-based Student Worksheet to improve students' inquiry skills. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) involving 94 eighth-grade students. Product validation by experts indicated high feasibility, with scores of 92% from material experts and 89% from media experts. The effectiveness test showed a significant improvement in students' inquiry skills, with an N-Gain value of 0.71 (high category), particularly in visual-based data analysis. These findings imply that integrating Generative AI-based video into learning materials can serve as an effective strategy to support inquiry-based learning and enhance students’ understanding of abstract scientific concepts.
