Abstract

AbstractThe teaching materials on chemistry integrated into Islam are not yet available at the university level. Teaching materials can be used in learning activities. This study aims to develop integrated Islamic chemistry teaching materials for environmental chemistry courses. This research uses the Four Steps Material Teaching Development method (4STMD). 4STMD consists of four stages, namely the selection stage, structuring stage, characterisation stage, and reduction stage. At the stage of selection and structuring, the results of integration between environmental chemistry subjects and the Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqih, and Aqeedah Morals are obtained. At the characterisation stage, the concepts tested have easy characteristics, with an overall score of 86.9%. Based on the characterisation test results, the reduction phase in this research was not carried out because all concepts have easy characteristics. The completed teaching materials are then tested for feasibility by experts based on material aspects, presentation, language, and graphics. Based on the results of the feasibility test of the teaching materials, the average score is 95%. This shows that the teaching materials are considered worthy with a ‘very good’ predicate.AbstrakBahan ajar kimia terintegrasi keislaman belum tersedia di tingkat Universitas. Abstract

The process of generalisation and the formation of knowledge is often debated about the scientific methods of deduction and induction. There is a dualism between the two. A philosopher of falsification theory, Karl Raymond Popper, criticised induction theory and supported deductive theory, while philosopher John Stuart Mill emphasised the importance of induction in scientific reasoning, especially the use of enumerative induction. In this article, the author tries to briefly explain the urgency of John Stuart Mill's thought in science. Using the library research method, using relevant books and journal articles. Through this research shows the relationship between enumerative induction, coherence and generalisation by John Stuart Mill's can be assembled that enumerative induction shows the consistency pattern of individual cases obtained from repeated observations, where these individual cases in addition to being consistent also have coherence with each other so that a coherent belief system pattern is formed and then forms a generalisation or new science. Although this kind of induction assumption has a level of strength of proof that is difficult to refute. There are still limitations to inductive generalisation, namely the possibility that future discoveries will show that our belief in our current conclusions is incorrect.

Abstract

This study aims to examine teachers' perceptions of their Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) about age, gender, length of teaching, work location, teacher status, teacher education, and certification programs. This study used a cross-sectional survey method used in non-experimental quantitative research. The population in this study were all chemistry teachers in West Kalimantan using a purposive sampling technique obtain 70 to respondents from 14 districts. The survey consisted of 28 statement items and distributed questionnaires via Google form to chemistry teachers. Chemistry teachers rated themselves on a 5-point scale. All domains of the TPACK framework demonstrated valid and reliable instruments on Pearson's correlation values and Cronbach's Alpha Kruskal Wallis non-parametric test, Pearson's correlation was performed to analyze the data. Significant differences can be seen in the CK domain when viewed from gender differences with a p for CK of 0.044, so there is a significant difference between the gender of women (Mean = 4.08 SD = 0.416) and men (Mean = 4.32 SD = 0.470). Location of work affects the teacher's TCK and TPACK because there is a significant difference when viewed from the p namely the TCK and TPACK of 0.036 and 0.025. Perceptions of teachers' TPACK abilities were greater for teachers in cities than in villages in both the TCK domain (Mean = 3.58; 3.82 SD = 0.430; 0.466) and TPACK (Mean = 3.63; 3.91 SD = 0.483; 0.554).

Abstract

Education is a structured and systematic learning process that aims to improve the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values needed to build a successful career and life. Through education we can produce human resources who are competent and resilient in facing a complex future. The way to produce competent human resources is to improve students' Higher Level Thinking Skills in the learning process. The application of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy in learning is able to improve students' high-level thinking skills because the revised Bloom's Taxonomy has levels of cognitive abilities starting from low level (LOTS) to high level (HOTS). To find out feedback and student learning outcomes, look at the results of the assessment process after learning. These results can be a reference and even input for teachers to always develop the critical thinking skills learning process. Thus, this article aims to present knowledge information regarding the development of learning high-level thinking skills in chemistry subjects based on the revised Bloom's taxonomy which refers to student assessment.
