Abstract

Abstrack The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement of narrative writing skill by using Examples Non Examples models at grade V student of Elementary School. The type of research is PTK by using qualitative and quantitative approach. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 38 Kuranji, Padang city with a total of 26 students consisting of 15 male students and 11 female students. The result of the narrative writing skill in the pre-writing at cycle I 63,4 (C) increases on cycle II 91,3 (SB). The writing phase in the first cycle 59 (K), increased in the second cycle 85 (B), the post-writing phase cycle I 59 (C) increases in cycle II 85 (B). Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe an increase in intensive reading skills with the DRTA strategy of class III students at SD Negeri 46 Kuranji, Padang City. This type of research is classroom action research, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were class III students and teachers of SD Negeri 46 Kuranji, Padang City. The results of the research in each cycle showed an increase. The implementation of the teacher aspect of the first cycle was 67.18% (C), the second cycle was 87.5% (B). The implementation of aspects of the first cycle students was 60.93% (C), the second cycle was 90.62% (SB). The students' completeness results in cycle I 69.9 (C), with Prabaca 60.6, when reading 75.0 and post-reading 74.2. While the second cycle 82.5 (B) with Prabaca 78.0, when reading 84.3 and post-reading 85.1. It can be concluded that the DRTA Strategy can improve the intensive reading ability of grade III SDN 46 Kuranji students. Keywords: DRTA strategy, intensive reading ability.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out the effect of quantum reading strategy on the intensive reading ability of 4th grade students of state-owned Elementary School No.10 Bandar Buat, Padang. This study used a quantitative approach in the form of a quasi-experimental design. The research design of this study is the non-equivalent posttest-only control group design and the sampling technique is saturation sampling. based on the analysis results of the hypothesis test with the significance level of 5%, it was found that t calculation > t table (2,95995 > 1,67155). It is concluded that the quantum reading strategy has a significant effect on the intensive reading ability of 4th grade students at state-owned Elementary School No.10 Bandar Buat, Padang. Keywords: quantum reading, intensive reading, elementary school students

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Know-Want to Know-Learned (KWL) strategy on student learning in understanding reading. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The research design used is nonequivalent control group design.The population is all students in class IV sdn 03 Simpang Haru Padang city. The sampling technique used is totality sampling. Based on the results of hypothesis test analysis at 5% significance level obtained t count> ttable (1.96152> 1.67412). The conclusion of this research is the influence of cooperative script model to student intensive reading in Indonesian Languange.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement of comprehension reading skill by using Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy for fourth grade students of SD Negeri 28 Air Tawar Timur. Research subjects were teachers as observers, researchers, and fourth graders as many as 27 people consistingof 16 men and 11 women. In the first cycle, I obtained an averagescore of 60.6, an average reading rate of 75.0, and an average post-reading rate of 74.2. In cycle II the average value of prabaca 78.0, the average value of reading 84.3, and the average value of 85.1 post-reading. Thus reading comprehension with strategy (DRTA) can improve in class IV SD 28 Air Tawar Timur Kota Padang. Keywords: reading comprehension, directed reading thinking activity

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method to the text understanding of Grade V students of the Elementary School Group I, Akabiluru District, Lima Puluh Kota. This type of research is Quasy Experiment (quasi-experimental) with pretest-posttest non-equivalent group design. The sample uses purposive sampling with lottery. Samples totaled 37 people. The results of the t-test are greater than the t-table. Which is t-count of 2.2169 and t-table 2.0301 with a significance level of α = 0.05. By getting t-count greater than t-table means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It was concluded that there was an influence of the CIRC method on the understanding of the text of Grade V students of the Elementary School in Cluster I of Akabiluru District, Lima Puluh Kota.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the students’ intensive reading skill through the use of the SQ3R method in Grade III A of Elementary School Number 23 Marapalam, Padang. This is a classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The object of this study is the class teacher and 32 students of Grade III A of Elementary School Number 23 Marapalam, Padang. The findings show that the students’ intensive reading skill increased from 56,48% with 25% completeness percentage in Cycle I Meeting I to 70.12% with 56,25% completeness percentage in Cycle I Meeting II to 87,5% with 75% completeness percentage in Cycle II. The percentage increase from Cycle I to Cycle II is 30.1%. Thus, it is concluded that the SQ3R method can improve the intensive reading skill of Grade III students of Elementary School.                                                Keywords: Intensive Reading Skill; SQ3R Method

Abstract

The background of this study is the lack of reading comprehension. The purpose of this research in general to increase the ability to read the understanding of grade V students of SD Negeri 04Pasar Surantih Pesisir Selatan Regency with STAD model. This research is a class action research. The research subject is 23 students and researchers. The results of this study show the average value in the stage prabaca is 65.2, the current reading stage only reaches 67.9, while in the post-reading stage 79.6. It occurs in cycle II with an average grade of 83.5. Prabaca stage in cycle II is increased to 76.0, then at the second reading stage is when the reading reaches the number 84.8, pascabaca stage managed to reach an average of 89.6. From the results of this study can be concluded STAD model can improve reading comprehension skills of grade V students of SD Negeri 04 Pasar Surantih Pesisir Selatan Regency.Keywords: Reading understanding, STAD

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out the effect of using the strategy of directed reading thinking activity (DRTA) on the reading comprehension ability of 5th grade students in an elementary school. The type of research used in this study is in the form of   quasi-experimental design. The research design of this study is the non-equivalent posttest-only control group design. The research was conducted at SDN 15 Padang Sarai, Kota Padang. Based on the post-test results, the average value of reading comprehension ability of the control class is 71,18. The control class was treated with a conventional learning method. Through the implementation of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy, the average value of reading comprehension ability in the experimental class is 80,30. Based on the hypothesis test and by using the t- test with significant level   it was obtained that the =  and   and with the    the H1 is therefore, accepted and  H0 is rejected.. thus, it is concluded that the directed reading thinking activity (DRTA) strategy significantly affects the reading comprehension ability the 5th grade students  Keyword: Strategy DRTA, Reading comprehension Ability

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of the implementation of the Problem Based Learning Model by the teacher in the learning process of the fourth grade students of SDN 29 Rantau Batu Pasar as seen from the PBL learning steps used by the teacher in the teaching and learning process, the obstacles in the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model. and the efforts made to overcome the obstacles in the Problem Based Learning model in the student learning process. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were fourth grade teachers and fourth grade students of SDN 29 Rantau Batu Pasar. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique used in this research is a descriptive analysis model consisting of data collection, data organizing, data management, verification and interpretation of data, conclusions. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the results show that the Problem Based Learning Model is very effective. used in an integrated thematic learning process where the PBL Model is a learning model that involves students directly in solving problems and can solve the problems faced according to their knowledge and accompanied by logical reasons. And it is supported by several relevant studies which show that this PBL model is effective in an integrated thematic learning process.
