Abstract

Conventional urban drainage systems are often unable to cope with extreme rainfall and rapid urbanization, resulting in flooding and water pollution. Innovative approaches are needed to improve the performance and sustainability of urban drainage systems. This research aims to explore and analyze innovative approaches in urban drainage systems to improve efficiency, sustainability and resilience to climate change. This type of research is literature research. Data collection techniques are direct observation through journal databases and documentation. Data analysis in the research is qualitative data analysis. The results concluded a promising innovative approach to improve the performance and sustainability of urban drainage systems. Integrated application of this innovative approach can help create more resilient, sustainable and environmentally friendly urban drainage systems, contributing to healthier and climate change resilient cities. Further research is needed to evaluate the long-term effectiveness and scalability of this approach in various urban contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of geospatial technologies in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of civil engineering projects. Geospatial technologies, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial analysis, have revolutionized the field of civil engineering by providing critical tools for planning, design, construction, and management of infrastructure projects. The integration of these technologies enables accurate terrain mapping, real-time monitoring, and data-driven decision-making, which are crucial for ensuring the safety, sustainability, and resilience of modern infrastructure. This research aims to explore the applications of geospatial technologies in various civil engineering projects, including highway planning, urban development, and environmental monitoring. The study also examines the potential benefits and limitations of these technologies and provides recommendations for their effective integration into civil engineering practices. By understanding the impact of geospatial technologies on civil engineering projects, this research aims to contribute to the development of more efficient, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure that supports the needs of modern society.

Abstract

This research aims to contribute to modern business, new work systems, and industrial relations. This research is a longitudinal study involving manufacturing companies. Researchers collected data at two different periods. Researchers surveyed by sending a questionnaire to the company's human resources managers. Research findings show a reasonably strong relationship between implementing new work practices and better company results. However, according to the dominant theory, this result does not always occur in every case. These results indicate a greater focus on small businesses, which play a significant role in the fabric industry. The third result shows the durability or sustainability of individual practices. These new practices have proven effective in improving company performance, which may be why groups are more confident implementing them. Discriminant analysis reveals that firms' structural and market characteristics account for most of the variability in their orientation toward organizational innovation. The intensity of relationships with other companies positively correlates with using new work practices, mainly if the company operates internationally. The competition level in the company's market is also related to the use of new work practices and intense, innovative activities, especially those related to technology and the coordination of activities within the organization, such as information technology.

Abstract

Abstract

Local potential-based development is a strategic approach aimed at improving economic and social welfare through the optimization of local resources. This study examines the implementation of local potential-based development across various regions in Indonesia, focusing on the challenges, opportunities, and impacts it generates. The research utilizes a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis of 14 selected articles from an initial 30 articles retrieved from Google Scholar for the 2011-2024 period. The findings indicate that local potential-based development in sectors such as tourism in Banyuwangi, agribusiness in Garut, and renewable energy in West Sumatra significantly contributes to increased community income, job creation, and preservation of local culture. However, success in these initiatives requires adequate infrastructure, supportive policies, and collaboration among government, communities, and the private sector. This study provides essential insights for policymakers and stakeholders in designing sustainable and inclusive development programs.
