Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in religious, cultural, and ethnic diversity. However, this diversity often presents challenges in maintaining unity. This study aims to identify strategic efforts that can be made to improve unity amidst religious diversity. The method used is a literature review. The results of the study indicate that interfaith dialogue, early tolerance education, strengthening the role of religious institutions, and campaigns through social media are effective steps in strengthening unity. In addition, collaboration in cross-religious social activities has also been proven to be able to build harmonious relationships. Thus, a joint commitment is needed from all elements of society and government to continue to encourage the creation of strong harmony amidst the nation's plurality.

The modern era, which is characterized by rapid technological developments, globalization and social change, often presents challenges in preserving spiritual and traditional values. On the one hand, sacred values such as moral and ethical foundations serve as guidelines for individuals and society to maintain a balanced life. On the other hand, local traditions express cultural identity that is rooted in people's lives. Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling the value of patriotism in students. Through observations and interviews with PAI teachers and students, it was found that PAI teachers integrate patriotism values in learning by discussing the struggle of the Indonesian nation in an Islamic perspective, as well as applying storytelling methods, discussions, and creative activities with the theme of nationalism. In addition, teachers also provide examples in showing patriotism, such as by using local products and participating in school activities related to nationalism. Students showed a positive response with an increased sense of pride and the application of patriotism in their daily lives. However, a challenge that arises is the lack of awareness of some students in the digital era. PAI teachers managed to overcome this by providing direct examples and linking the value of patriotism with Islamic teachings.
