Abstract

Entrepreneurship is increasingly recognized as an essential skill for students to face global economic and social challenges. However, research on entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) among high school students in Indonesia remains limited, despite its crucial role in shaping entrepreneurial intentions and readiness. This study aims to explore students’ levels of ESE and analyze the influence of gender and entrepreneurial experience on their abilities and intentions. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through surveys measuring knowledge, interest, experience, and ESE. The findings reveal that students have high levels of entrepreneurial knowledge and interest, with ESE ranging from moderate to high. Gender was found to influence knowledge, interest, and ESE, with female students tending to demonstrate stronger entrepreneurial intentions. Moreover, prior entrepreneurial experience was shown to enhance both ESE and students’ interest in entrepreneurship. Qualitative analysis highlighted that students perceive capital, marketing, and product development as key needs for entrepreneurship, while common challenges include competition and financial constraints. Overall, students expressed neutral to positive sentiments toward entrepreneurial engagement. These findings underscore the importance of practical, gender-sensitive, and experiential entrepreneurship education to strengthen ESE and better prepare students for the challenges of the business world.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the challenges, strategies, and impacts of implementing Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in the Analytical Chemistry program at Vocational High Schools (SMK). Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers and students actively engaged in PjBL activities. The analysis followed Moustakas’s phenomenological steps, including data reduction, categorization, and interpretation. The findings revealed three key themes: (1) resource and infrastructure limitations, (2) teachers’ adaptive and innovative strategies, and (3) students’ creativity and entrepreneurial motivation. Despite facing financial and facility constraints, teachers demonstrated resilience by utilizing local resources, modifying learning designs, and applying reflective assessment. Students, in turn, showed high creativity and problem-solving skills by developing innovative chemical-based products that integrated environmental awareness and entrepreneurship. The study concludes that PjBL effectively enhances students’ higher-order thinking, creativity, and motivation in vocational chemistry learning. However, its sustainability depends on institutional support, adequate funding, and collaboration with industry. These findings highlight the importance of developing structured, project-based digital modules to strengthen teacher competence and ensure meaningful, future-oriented learning in vocational education.

Abstract

Today's world of higher education emphasizes the importance of digital literacy skills that cannot be underestimated. This study aims to investigate the state of digital literacy among students enrolled in the Biology Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Malang, focusing on their proficiency in utilizing digital tools and resources, critically evaluating information, and responsibly navigating online domains. The study was a quantitative approach. Questionnaires with a Likert scale consist of 36 statements designed. Data were collected in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year from a total of 147 students. The research instrument adapted from validated sources assessed six key indicators of digital literacy (finding, using multiple sources, selecting, evaluating, considering sources effects, and using original work). These quantitative data were analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The results showed that although most students obtained a moderate level of digital literacy (61.54%), there was a certain number of students with low (1.92%) and very low (0.96%) levels of digital literacy. These results suggest that more attention is needed to digital literacy development in biology education at all levels. These findings emphasized the importance of further and holistic empowerment of digital literacy skills among biology education students, particularly in evaluating and considering the source/effect of messages. Improvements in these areas and studies are critical to preparing students for academic and professional success and fostering their engagement with society in an increasingly digitalized world. Future research efforts should focus on implementing targeted interventions to improve digital literacy in programs and comparing the level of digital literacy across different biology education courses in different institutions. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on digital literacy in higher education and underscores the need for adaptation and continuous improvement in educational strategies to meet the evolving demands of the digital age.

Abstract

The Aceh government issued an appeal letter No.180/11860 dated August 3 2022 regarding an appeal to Muslim employees and companies (businesses) to deposit their zakat to Baitul Mal. The compliance behavior of entrepreneurs paying zakat to Baitul Mal is an important concern in optimizing zakat receipts in Aceh. Socio-economic models and good governance are important factors in increasing zakat compliance among entrepreneurs. What are Baitul Mal Aceh's policies and strategies for optimizing these two models? This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data was collected using interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data display and conclusion making. The research results show that Baitul Mal Aceh has strengthened zakat management regulations in Aceh and followed this with education and socialization. Apart from that, Baitul Mal also always displays information related to the collection and utilization of zakat funds. Management with good governance is carried out by prioritizing transparency and accountability in zakat management. It is hoped that optimizing zakat continues to prioritize socio-economic models and good governance and can increase the trust and interest of entrepreneurs so that in the end they give their zakat to Baitul Mal Aceh.

Abstract

Thermochemistry is a challenging topic in chemistry learning due to students difficulty in grasping its concepts, often stemming from a lack of critical thinking skills (CTS). This study investigates the impact of using argument-driven inquiry (ADI) learning with a science, environment, technology, and society (SETS) approach on the critical thinking skills of high school students studying thermochemistry. This research, employing a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest control group, involved 46 students divided into a control and experimental group. The control group received ADI learning, while the experimental group received ADI learning with the SETS approach. The instrument used in this research is a CTS test on thermochemitry. It contains five valid questions and has a reliability score of 0.708. The analysis was performed using the Independent t-Test. The CTS test results revealed a significant difference between the groups with the experimental group (15.91) scoring higher than the control group (12.78). This suggest that incorporating the SETS approach into ADI learning can enhace students CTS
