Abstract

This systematic literature review examines learning models in mathematics and science education that improve Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The review focuses on studies from 2000 to 2023, addressing Indonesia's need to enhance HOTS in response to low performance in global assessments like PISA. Using the PRISMA method, 20 studies were analyzed based on criteria such as HOTS focus and relevance to primary and secondary education. Findings reveal that Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) is the most commonly used model across disciplines, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is also widely applied, particularly in senior high schools, encouraging creativity through real-world problems. Discovery Learning, though less frequent, is effective in fostering independent inquiry in chemistry education. The study concludes that inquiry-driven and problem-solving models are key to developing HOTS, especially in secondary education, where cognitive demands increase. These models should be integrated into curricula to meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang dibungkus dengan permainan bisa membangkitkan jiwa kompetitif dan daya saing peserta didik yang berimbas pada meningkatnya motivasi belajar. Hasil observasi dan wawancara menunjukkan bahwa sekitar 70 persen peserta didik kelas 8 SMP Negeri 2 Pakis memiliki minat belajar yang rendah. peneliti tertarik untuk mengimplementasikan permainan tradisional congklak sebagai upaya dalam meningkatkan minat belajar IPA pada peserta didik kelas 8 di SMP Negeri 2 Pakis. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui implementasi permainan tradisional edukatif (dalam penelitian ini yaitu permainan Congklak) untuk meningkatkan minat belajar IPA (daya saing, keaktifan, motivasi) pada seluruh peserta didik kelas 8 di SMP Negeri 2 Pakis. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara. Dengan alat pengumpulan data yaitu lembar observasi dan lembar wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan merupakan analisis data kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil observasi menunjukkan penggunaan permainan edukatif dalam pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan minat belajar dan keaktifan pesera didik dalam proses pembelajaran IPA dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah.

Abstract

The lack of instruments designed to assess chemical literacy among prospective chemistry teachers highlights the need for robust tools to support science education. This study develops and validates an instrument to measure chemical literacy, addressing this gap and contributing to improved pedagogical practices. In this study, a chemical literacy instrument for general chemistry was developed, drawing on existing frameworks of chemical literacy. This research employs a development-based approach (RD), encompassing literature review, instrument development, and quality testing. The quality of the instrument was evaluated based on its reliability and validity. The validity was evaluated by expert panel review, difficulty index, discrimination index, and pearson correlation value. In this study, a multiple-choice chemical literacy test instrument was successfully developed using the PISA 2025 scientific literacy framework, resulting in 23 valid items. The PISA framework was chosen for its perceived dynamism compared to other frameworks. The reliability of the developed instrument reached 0.818, indicating that the questions are highly reliable. Future improvements to the instrument are necessary, with a focus on ensuring that all items fully meet the established validity criteria

Abstract

A virtual laboratory is a simulated environment that enables users to conduct various experiments anytime and anywhere without the need for a physical laboratory. Its main goal is to identify trends (such as publication year, education level, publication journal, keywords used, and academic disciplines) and map the platforms and affective domains related to virtual laboratories in science education. This systematic review utilizes 41 articles found in the scopus database from 2013 to 2023 using pre-determined criteria. The method applied is a systematic literature review following PRISMA guidelines. The results show that publication trends have fluctuated over time, with a significant increase in the last four years. Most studies were conducted at the higher education level, with the journal of chemical education being the most dominant publication outlet. Chemistry emerged as the most frequently explored discipline, and "virtual laboratory" appeared as a commonly used keyword. Various virtual laboratory platforms were employed in these studies, and most of the reported affective domains related to positive attitudes towards the learning process

Abstract

Siswa tunagrahita memiliki kemampuan fungsi intelektual atau kecerdasan di bawah rata-rata anak normal sehingga mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi yang abstrak seperti IPA, akan tetapi ada cara yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman mereka yaitu menggunakan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kemampuannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran dari berbagai aplikasi dalam meningkatkan materi sains untuk siswa tunagrahita. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan menggunakan database artikel online yaitu ERIC dan Google Scholar. Artikel yang direview sebanyak 10 artikel sesuai topik. Hasil review menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam proses pembelajaran bagi siswa tunagrahita sangat berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan pemahaman pada materi IPA. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan banyak berasal dari berbagai aplikasi seperti media yang menggabungkan sisi edukasi dan hiburan seperti menggunakan video, permainan (game), media visual seperti gambar dan lainnya sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa tunagrahita. Berdasarkan hasil literature review dari peneliti sebelumnya, maka disimpulkan bahwa implementasi kurikulum 2013 selaras dengan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa tunagrahita pada proses pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tunagrahita pada materi sains dengan baik.

Abstract

Minimnya penggunaan media pembelajaran berdampak terhadap rendahnya aktifitas dan pemahaman siswa tentang materi yang dipelajari. Sehingga perlu adanya inovasi pembelajaran dalam bentuk pengembangan media yang mampu membantu proses pembelajaran sehingga lebih bermakna. Tujuan penelitian pengembangan ini adalah untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran Interaktif “KERKABA” berbasis game edukasi yang layak dan valid dan menguji efektivitas hasil pengembangan dalam pemahaman konsep operasi hitung perkalian dan pembagian bilangan cacah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan teknik Research and Development (R&D). Pengembangan media pembelajaran “KERKABA” berbasis game edukasi ini menggunakan model Lee & Owens yang telah disederhanakan menjadi 5 tahapan yaitu: tahap analisis, tahap desain, tahap pengembangan, tahap implementasi, tahap evaluasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa yang berjumlaj 34 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode lembar validasi, angket, dan tes. Data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis dengan teknik analisi deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian dari ahli media, ahli materi dan ahli konsep menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif “KERKABA” berbasis game edukasi ini valid dan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The problems faced by MA and MTs Alif Laam Miim in facing the merdeka curriculum are teachers' lack of understanding regarding the implementation of the merdeka curriculum, minimal training that teachers have participated in directly in creating teaching modules, and not having an ideal science learning KIT. This makes learning activities run less effectively. The solution offered by UM service team is to hold a workshop on developing learning modules and KITs for teachers at MA and MTs Alif Laam Miim, especially in science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). The results of this workshop show an increase in teachers' understanding of how to develop modules and also the availability of learning KITs that are following the merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

Perubahan kurikulum terfokus pada penyempurnaan dan revisi dari kurikulum sebelumnya yaitu dengan adanya perubahan kurikulum 13 menjadi kurikulum merdeka. Pendidik merupakan penggerak merdeka belajar, pendidik berperan dalam desain strategi dan metode pembelajaran berbasis kurikulum merdeka.Pendidik kesulitan dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka karena pendidik tidak memiliki pengalaman konsep merdeka belajar dan minimnya referensi bahan rujukan mendesain dan mengimplementasikan merdeka belajar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan survey yang melibatkan sekelompok individu untuk menjawab sejumlah pertanyaan dalam instrumen yang berupa kuisioner. Data yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah data kualitatif yang diperoleh dari perspektif pendidik dalam menjawab pertanyaan. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner yang telah dilakukan didapatkan data bahwa pendidik di kelompok MGMP Kimia Sidoarjo telah memiliki pemahaman mengenai kurikulum merdeka dan administrasi yang diperlukan, pendidik juga sudah dapat membedakan kurikulum 2013 dengan kurikulum merdeka. Namun, untuk implementasi dari kurikulum merdeka, pendidik di kelmpok MGMP Kimia Sidoarjo masih mengalami kendala di bidang pemetaan konten dan materi kimia. Berdasarkan analisis dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi kurikulum merdeka di kelomok MGMP Kimia Sidoarjo belum optimal, utamanya dalam pemetaan konten dan materi kimia. Oleh karena itu, pendampingan peningkatan kompetensi pendidik di kelompok MGMP Kimia Sidoarjo perlu dilaksanakan sebagai solusi belum optimalnya kompetensi pendidik dalam pemetaan konten dan materi kimia.

Abstract

Problem solving is one of the abilities that students must have in the 21st century. This is because students' ability to solve problems is expected to increase their higher order thinking skills (HOTS) competency. The ability to measure problem solving can be assessed through test instruments in the form of questions containing problems. This research aims to analyze problem solving abilities in colloidal materials through the development of the IDEAL Problem Solving assessment instrument. This instrument includes five indicators, namely Identify the Problem, Define the Outcome, Explore Possible Strategies, Anticipate Outcome & Act, and Look back and Learn. The research was conducted for 3 months at SMAN 1 Sungai Tabuk class XI semester II (even). The method used is development research or R&D (Research and Development) research. The development of this instrument adapts the ADDIE development model by following five steps, including (1) Analyze (analysis), (2) Design (planning), (3) Develop (development), (4) Implementation (implementation), (5) Evaluate (evaluation). Data analysis was carried out quantitatively with statistical tests. The empirical validity results show that the instrument is valid and reliable to use and meets the criteria for a good level of difficulty and discrimination.
