Abstract

The Farmers in Tinambung Village, Pamboang Subdistrict, Majene Regency mostly raise goats as a side job to support their income. Cocoa shells, which are cocoa plantation waste, have not been utilized so far, only as waste that pollutes the environment. The farmer-livestock group “Siparare” is a partner in community service activities totaling 35 people. This activity aims to provide education on the utilization of cocoa shells as animal feed and skills in making feed in the form of pellets. The methods used in this activity are survey, counseling, training, and monitoring and evaluation. Measurement of farmers' knowledge was done through pre-test and post-test. The results show that the knowledge and skills of farmers have increased significantly from 6.43% to 76.29% in processing cocoa shell waste into feed pellets as an alternative to fulfill quality feed needs, especially during the dry season. Pellets as an alternative in fulfilling the need for quality feed, especially during the dry season. Based on the results of observations during the activity, the results of questions and answers and the enthusiasm of the participants, it can be seen that new partners are aware of the existence of innovative feed processing technology and the importance of the role of feed as a source of nutrition for livestock, willingness to apply pellet feed processing technology, and enthusiasm in adopting the material provided, so overall this activity can be said to be quite successful. Farmers have been able to make feed pellets from cocoa shells independently as a solution in providing quality feed as well as a product with economic value so as to increase farmers' income, and can utilize and reduce waste that can pollute the environment.

Abstract

The effectiveness of insurance claim investigations in detecting and uncovering criminal acts of Fraud in motor vehicle accident claims, with a case study conducted at PT Tujuh Bintangmas Perkasa. The method used includes a normative and empirical approach, involving direct interviews with company management and investigation teams. The results from these interviews show that claim investigations serve not only as an administrative verification tool but also as a legal instrument to strengthen the company’s position during reporting and law enforcement processes. Based on Article 251 of the Indonesian Commercial Code (KUHD) and Articles 378 and 381 of the Criminal Code (KUHP), investigations play a crucial role in proving the presence of bad faith by the insured party, such as concealing the vehicle’s damage history or forging documents. The investigation team operates under strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that include scene reconstruction, visual and forensic evidence analysis, and cross-verification of data from the initial policy application. However, several challenges remain, including limited coordination between institutions and insufficient human resources. To improve effectiveness, it is necessary to integrate national data systems, provide regular training for investigators, and optimize technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence (AI). The study concludes that a systematic claim investigation process supported by strong regulations can serve as a primary defense mechanism against Fraud, while also promoting a more transparent and legally compliant insurance industry.

Abstract

Developing reflective competence in pre-service teachers is essential for fostering critical and adaptive thinking, yet conventional methods often fall short in promoting deep metacognitive awareness. This quantitative study employed a quasi-experimental design involving 120 education students from two Indonesian universities, divided into experimental and control groups. Data were gathered through pre- and post-tests, observations, and perception questionnaires, and analyzed using ANCOVA. Findings revealed that integrating metacognitive elements into adaptive gamification significantly enhanced students' reflective competence compared to traditional methods. The results suggest that gamification tailored to metacognitive levels can effectively stimulate meaningful reflection. This study contributes to the theory of adaptive, technology-based learning models and offers practical insights for improving reflection-focused teacher education curricula.

Abstract

The study explores the power relations embedded within the construction of female identity in Girl in Translation, a novel portraying the immigrant experience of Kimberly, a young Chinese girl who relocates to Brooklyn, New York. Confronted by cultural barries and socioeconomic hardship, Kimberly’s journey reveals tensions surrounding gender and societal expectations. Employing a qualitative approach under a constructivist paradigm, this reasearch applies Michel Foucault’s theory of power to analyze the depiction of gender dynamics in the narrative. The findings indicate two distinct manifestation of power; epistemic power, shaped through discourse and informal knowledge, and corporeal power, exercised over the body. These forms of domination influence patterns of thought and behavior within male-female relationships, as illustrated through Kimberly’s personal and social interactions. Ultimately, the study highlights how the novel critiques normative structures and foregrounds the subtle mechanisms of control within everyday life.

Abstract

Pasal 45 ayat (4) Undang-Undang No. 1 Tahun 2024 Tentang Perubahan Kedua Atas Undang-Undang No. 11 Tahun 2008 Tentang Infromasi dan Transaksi Elektronik.

Abstract

This study investigated the representation of social position and hegemonic practices in The Hunger Games (2012) movie. The analysis focused on how the Capitol was portrayed as the ruling class and District 12 as the subaltern class, as well as how resistance emerged through counter-hegemonic actions. The study applied Antonio Gramsci’s concept of hegemony as the analytical framework and used a qualitative descriptive method to examine the characters’ dialogues. A total of 55 data points were identified, consisting of 13 related to social position, 38 representing different practices of hegemony, and 4 reflecting counter-hegemonic resistance. The findings revealed that the Capitol sustained dominance not only through political and economic control but also through cultural, ideological, and symbolic practices. At the same time, the acts of resistance performed by Katniss Everdeen demonstrated the possibility of class awareness and a challenge to hegemonic power. Beyond its theoretical contribution, this study also offered practical implications for English language teaching. Film dialogues from The Hunger Games could be used as authentic classroom materials to develop students’ critical literacy, encourage awareness of power relations in discourse, and promote reflective engagement with media texts. This highlighted the relevance of discourse analysis and critical pedagogy in fostering socio-political awareness among EFL learners.

Abstract

Social studies education not only provides factual knowledge but also equips students with a deep understanding of the social, cultural, and environmental realities in which they live. The project-based learning model has significant potential to enhance student learning activities, which in turn can positively contribute to social studies learning outcomes. Therefore, this study intends to examine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on student learning outcomes in social studies. The research method used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The study population was fifth-grade students from nine elementary schools in Cluster I, Parangloe District, Gowa Regency. The sample was taken from elementary schools Inpres Pakkolompo and elementary schools Inpres Jenemadinging using a random sampling technique, with a total of 41 students. Data was collected through observation and objective tests, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed a significant effect of the implementation of the PjBL model on student activity, cooperative character, and learning outcomes. Based on the significance value (sig) obtained of 0.013, which is smaller than the commonly used alpha value (0.05), it was concluded that the implementation of the PjBL model significantly influenced learning outcomes. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of the project-based learning approach in improving student academic achievement. This study recommends the implementation of the PjBL model to increase student engagement and improve student learning outcomes in social studies in elementary schools.
