Abstract

This research explores Paulo Freire's perspective on Islamic education and its relevance to the Islamic curriculum in madrasahs in prioritizing moral and ethical values. This report uses a comprehensive approach to analyze Freire's 1972 book, "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" and highlights the importance of Freire's paradigm in Islamic education in Indonesia, especially in madrasah. This paradigm emphasizes the importance of student involvement, active participation, and participation in learning, in line with the objectives of the Islamic curriculum to create critical, creative, and responsible individuals in the 21st century. Integrating Islam into Freire's paradigm can also improve character, morals, and religious values in education. It emphasizes dialogue, participation, and contextual engagement in learning, fostering a sense of responsibility for developing skills and values relevant to the social and cultural context. It is hoped that applying the Freire paradigm and Islamic education in Indonesian education, especially in madrasahs, will lead to a more comprehensive, inclusive, and meaningful education.

Abstract

In implementing an independent curriculum, educators are expected to be able to meet the learning needs of each student with different characteristics. To realize the expected learning objectives of differentiated learning is the right idea. But the facts show that it is still rare for teachers to be willing to work on this because they do not have a clear concept to carry it out. This study aims to fulfill the implementation of differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMAS Bina Putera-Kopo. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Research that uses hypothesis testing through data on words compiled, and data can be compiled for analysis using narrative descriptions. This study found that in an effort to implement differentiation, the following steps are needed; first, planning is carried out by mapping the initial abilities of students, what must be learned is interest and readiness to learn and determine essential material in learning outcomes; Second, it performs three components, namely the differentiation of content, processes, and products. Third, conduct an evaluation to determine the effectiveness and success rate of the objectives of the learning carried out. The researcher concluded that differentiation learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects provides an opportunity to learn naturally, starting from the initial ability of each student. The success of differentiated learning implementation is obtained due to the support of good communication and collaboration between both parties, namely the school and parents.

Abstract

Islamic boarding school (pesantren) leadership is increasingly required to respond to contemporary educational challenges while sustaining deeply rooted religious, cultural, and institutional traditions. However, integrative leadership models that systematically bridge indigenous wisdom with modern education remain underexplored. This study examines the development of an adaptive pesantren leadership framework by integrating the Mangenta philosophy as indigenous local knowledge with critical pedagogy and systematic transformation. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through structured surveys administered to kyai, teachers, and educational practitioners in pesantren settings and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Reliability and construct validity were confirmed through Cronbach’s alpha and Average Variance Extracted (AVE). The findings reveal that local knowledge exerts a strong influence on Mangenta philosophy, while critical pedagogy significantly mediates the internalization of local wisdom into leadership practices. Systematic transformation contributes as a supporting institutional condition that facilitates adaptation without undermining philosophical coherence. These results demonstrate that Mangenta-based local wisdom, when critically mediated and institutionally supported, forms a culturally grounded and adaptive pesantren leadership model. The study contributes to Islamic educational leadership scholarship by offering an empirically validated, context-sensitive framework that harmonizes tradition and innovation within faith-based educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing healthcare workers’ compliance with safe injection procedures, focusing on knowledge, attitude, facility availability, and supervision. A quantitative, cross-sectional research method was employed, involving healthcare workers from selected healthcare facilities. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed through inferential statistical tests to identify relationships between variables. The findings revealed that knowledge, attitude, facility availability, and supervision significantly affect healthcare workers’ compliance. The discussion highlights that a combination of internal factors (knowledge and attitude) and external factors (facilities and supervision) forms the foundation of compliance behavior. In conclusion, improving safe injection practices requires comprehensive interventions that encompass competency enhancement, adequate facility provision, and strengthened supervision systems. The study’s contribution lies in providing empirical evidence to inform patient safety policy formulation at both facility and national levels.

Abstract

This research is entitled “The Implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Developing Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in Islamic Religious Education (A Case Study at SMK Bani Salimah and SMKN 1 Waringinkurung, Serang Regency)”. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and how its application can enhance students’ critical thinking skills. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The validity of the data was ensured through credibility and confirmability. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in both schools has been strongly supported by the institutions, although limitations remain in teacher training and the use of technology. Teachers attempted to overcome these challenges by engaging in self-learning through the “Merdeka Mengajar” platform and independently preparing teaching modules, methods, and learning media. The IRE learning process was oriented towards the development of critical thinking skills using six indicators, although the levels of achievement varied among students. Factors influencing the development of critical thinking include learning motivation, teacher support through differentiated learning, and students’ internal conditions. Meanwhile, obstacles in implementing the Independent Curriculum include limited teacher understanding, low student motivation, insufficient learning facilities, and reluctance of some teachers to adapt to technology. These challenges hinder the optimal development of critical thinking skills, thus requiring improvements in teacher training, strengthening school facilities, and applying more innovative and adaptive learning strategies.
