Abstract

This study focuses on testing the effect of the application of cinema therapy techniques in group guidance services in increasing the learning motivation of students at SMP Negeri 26 Makassar. The objectives of the study include: (1) an overview of the level of student learning motivation, (2) an overview of the implementation of cinema therapy techniques in group guidance services, (3) the effect of the application of cinema therapy techniques in increasing learning motivation. This research approach is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design through a pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used is a learning motivation scale. The study population was 50 students identified as having low learning motivation. The study sample was 20 grade VIII students who were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group, each consisting of 10 students. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling. Data collection techniques used were observation and a learning motivation scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and t-tests. The results of the study showed that before the intervention, students' learning motivation was in the low to moderate category. After the intervention, the learning motivation of the experimental group increased to the high category, while the control group remained in the low category. The cinema therapy technique was implemented systematically over six sessions over a five-week period, through the stages of disassociation, identification, internalization, and transference. The t-test results showed a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.002 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that the cinema therapy technique is effective in increasing students' learning motivation.

Findings - The level of customer understanding of the use of fiat money in Hajj savings using mudharabah contracts at BSI in West Aceh is that those with elementary/secondary education are 3.9 and those with higher education are 4.00, this difference is very small (0.1/2.5%), this is in accordance with the results of the t-test which shows a sig. (2-tail) value of 0.122 > 0.05. The results of the t-test explain that there is no significant difference in the understanding of customers with low/medium education and customers with higher education. Implications - This study provides implications that the knowledge of Hajj savings customers about the legal status of the use of fiat money is very important for the perfection of the Hajj pilgrimage.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of peer conformity and the level of consumptive behavior towards Apple products among students. This research used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire adapted from Baron & Byrne's theory for conformity and Lina & Rosyid's theory for consumptive behavior. Data analysis used descriptive statistics to calculate frequencies and percentages. The results showed that the level of peer conformity among students was in the high category (43.42%), and the level of consumptive behavior towards Apple products was in the very high category (53.95%). The conclusion of this study is that the majority of students have a strong tendency to conform to their peer groups and exhibit excessive consumption patterns of Apple products, driven by aspects of impulsive buying, wasteful buying, and non-rational buying.

Abstract

This study is motivated by overseas students facing adaptation challenges in new environments, including cultural, linguistic, and social differences, potentially causing stress, anxiety, and loneliness. Peer emotional support is an important factor that can assist overseas students in self-adjustment. This research aims to identify the level of peer emotional support, identify the level of self-adjustment, and examine the significant positive relationship between both variables among overseas students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Universitas Jambi, class of 2025. This study uses a quantitative correlational method. The population was 113 overseas students, with a sample of 76 students determined by purposive sampling. The instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability, with Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.917 for emotional support and 0.924 for self-adjustment. Data analysis included normality, linearity, Product Moment correlation, and hypothesis testing. The results showed: (1) peer emotional support was in the medium category (26.32%); (2) self-adjustment of overseas students was in the medium category (31.58%); (3) there is a significant positive relationship between peer emotional support and self-adjustment, evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.610, indicating a medium relationship.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the presence of adolescents who experience body image disorders, such as dissatisfaction with physical appearance, shame, low selfesteem, and avoidance behavior in social situations. This study aims to describe the forms and characteristics of body image disorders, understand students' interpretations of the concept of body positivity, and analyze the role of the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) approach in developing body positivity in adolescents. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study type. The research subjects consisted of two students of SMAN 23 Makassar, namely AM and NWY. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and literature studies, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the two subjects had irrational beliefs about their bodies that gave rise to negative emotions and avoidance behavior. After participating in REBT counseling through the techniques of disputing irrational beliefs, self-reflection, and homework assignments, the subjects showed cognitive, emotional, and behavioral changes. They were better able to accept their body condition, reduce social comparison, and increase self-confidence. Thus, the Rational Emotive Counseling approach is effective in developing body positivity in adolescents with body image disturbances.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of student-centered school management in strengthening elementary students’ independence and discipline. A descriptive qualitative case-study design was employed at SDN 2 Mamben Lauk, in Wanasaba, East Lombok. Data were collected through observations of school and classroom activities, interviews with the principal, classroom teacher, and fourth-grade students, and document analysis covering school regulations, classroom-duty schedules, habituation programs, activity photographs, and teacher evaluation notes. Data were analyzed through data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, while source and method triangulation enhanced credibility. Four main patterns emerged. First, planning involved school rules, habituation programs, responsibility allocation, and monitoring mechanisms. Second, independence was fostered by allowing students to prepare learning materials, complete assignments, perform classroom duties, and assume age-appropriate responsibilities. Third, discipline was developed through teacher modeling, consistent rules, supportive supervision, and positive reinforcement. Fourth, routine evaluation enabled the school to adjust programs to students’ developmental needs. Implementation was constrained by diverse student characteristics, limited instructional time, and uneven parental support. The findings indicate that independence and discipline are strengthened when school management integrates student participation, consistent habituation, data-informed reflection, and sustained school–family support.
