Abstract

The increasingly rapid development of information and communication technology has had a significant impact on social life. Even though it provides many potential benefits from the internet, it gives rise to problematic behavior, including online games where the majority of users are students. However, little is known about the impact of online games on group behavior and norms in online interactions. Even though online games are useful for self-relaxation, their negative impact makes individuals lose track of time so that they forget their daily tasks and obligations such as studying, going to school, helping parents, socializing with many people, and also carrying out spiritual activities such as worship. The positive impacts of online games are training children in cooperation, being able to learn English, training concentration, speed, creativity, fun, and reducing stress. Behind this positive impact there is a dangerous threat from online games, namely children become lazy, addicted, and there is decadence or moral decline. For this reason, online games as a form of technological development need to be addressed wisely so that they do not have a negative impact on teenagers. Thus, teenagers need to be given efforts to prevent online game addiction, one of which is limiting playing online games, implementing healthy routines, carrying out cognitive behavioral therapy, and professional help so that they can hopefully avoid online game addiction.

Abstract

Children’s behavior is fundamentally influenced by the family environment. However, family conflict, such as arguments between parents or between parents and children, can shape aggressive behavior patterns that carry over into the school environment. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family conflict and bullying behavior among secondary school students. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design involving 370 students as the sample. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire developed based on indicators of family conflict and bullying behavior variables. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics to describe the level of each variable and the Pearson Product Moment correlation test to examine the relationship between variables. The results showed that both family conflict and bullying behavior were in the moderate category. The correlation test revealed a strong and significant positive relationship between family conflict and bullying behavior. The findings also indicate that the higher the level of family conflict, the greater the tendency for students to engage in bullying, particularly in non-physical forms such as intimidation and social exclusion. This study concludes that the family environment plays a crucial role in shaping students’ social behavior, with implications for the need for collaboration between schools and parents to foster harmonious communication and develop strategies to prevent aggressive behavior.

Abstract

Early literacy readiness is a fundamental foundation for children's language development and future academic success. This community service program aimed to accelerate reading readiness through two-syllable word recognition training using visual media at PAUD An-Nisa, Gorontalo City. The activity involved children aged 4–5 years and adopted a participatory learning through play approach supported by word cards and familiar object illustrations. Data were collected through participatory observation focusing on word recognition, picture-word matching, verbal responses, learning engagement, and the level of assistance required during activities. The findings revealed improvements in children's ability to recognize and pronounce two-syllable words, connect written symbols with visual representations, and participate actively in learning tasks. High levels of enthusiasm, concentration, and verbal interaction were consistently observed throughout the program. Individualized scaffolding also facilitated broader participation and supported the development of learning independence. The integration of visual media, play-based learning, and differentiated support effectively strengthened early reading readiness among young children.
