Abstract

Lately, buying and selling on credit is mostly done by the community. In the sale and purchase, the buyer will pay for the desired goods in installments with the agreed time limit. However, of course the price will be higher than paying in cash. The additional price is a problem among scholars. Some say it is haram, halal and even syuhbat. Apart from these differences of opinion, actually buying and selling (Taqsith) credit has benefits for both the seller and the buyer, namely the seller can make his merchandise sell quickly and the buyers can get the goods they want even though they do not have enough money to buy it. So that buying and selling credit can realize the benefit of the people. Several scholars from the Shafi'iyah, Malikiyah, Hanabilah, Hanafiyah schools and also Zaid bin Ali as well as the majority of scholars allow buying and selling with a credit system. As long as there is clarity during the buying and selling contract process. In determining Islamic law, the main reference sources are the Qur'an and al-Sunnah. The secondary source is the ijtihad of the scholars. Every istinbath (law-taking) in Islamic law must be based on the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet

Abstract

Perennialism encompasses fundamental concepts that significantly influence Islamic religious education. This study examines perennialism as a philosophical framework and its contributions to Islamic education. This study examines the concepts of significant perennialist thinkers such as Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Frithjof Schuon, and Ananda Coomaraswamy through a qualitative literature review. The findings indicate that perennialism emphasises the universality of spiritual truth, the integration of divine knowledge, and the significance of tradition in Islamic education. This approach prioritises the development of inner spirituality and moral values over contemporary secular education. The study posits that Islamic education must revise its curriculum to align with perennialist concepts.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examined the association between Academic Competency Test-Based Mathematics Learning (ACT-BML) and improvements in junior high school students’ mathematics achievement. The study was motivated by the implementation of Indonesia’s Academic Competency Test (ACT), which requires instructional approaches that align mathematics learning with standardized academic assessment. In addition, empirical evidence regarding the integration of ACT standards into classroom mathematics instruction remains limited. Method: A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants were 180 ninth-grade students from a junior high school in Langsa City, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of 30 ACT-oriented mathematics achievement items that demonstrated satisfactory validity and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.872). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a paired-samples t-test, normalized gain (N-Gain), and Cohen’s d effect size. Findings: The results indicated substantial improvement in students’ mathematics achievement following the implementation of ACT-BML. The mean score increased from 37.89 on the pretest to 91.04 on the posttest. The paired-samples t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the two measurements, t(179) = 54.561, p < .001. Furthermore, the mean N-Gain score was 0.8511, indicating a high level of improvement, while Cohen’s d of 4.07 reflected a very large within-group effect. Significance: This study contributes empirical evidence to the emerging literature on integrating Academic Competency Test standards into mathematics instruction. The findings suggest that ACT-BML may serve as a promising assessment-aligned instructional approach for strengthening students’ mathematics achievement and academic readiness. Nevertheless, further studies employing more rigorous experimental designs are required to establish causal effectivenes.

Abstract

This study examines the relevance of Nurcholish Madjid’s Islamic political thought on democracy to the political orientation of Generation Z within Islamic student organizations in Medan City. The research employs a qualitative approach through field research supported by library research. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with members of the Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI), Pergerakan Mahasiswa Islam Indonesia (PMII), and Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah (IMM), as well as documentation and literature review. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, while data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Nurcholish Madjid’s democratic principles such as deliberation (shura), justice, pluralism, openness, equality, and public participation remain highly relevant to the political orientation of Generation Z. Members of Islamic student organizations demonstrate democratic values through participatory decision-making, respect for diverse opinions, and active engagement in social and political issues. Furthermore, Generation Z tends to adopt a critical, rational, and issue-based political orientation rather than one centered solely on identity politics. Despite challenges posed by political polarization, digital misinformation, and declining public trust in political elites, Islamic student organizations continue to serve as strategic platforms for political education and leadership development. Therefore, Nurcholish Madjid’s democratic thought remains a significant moral and intellectual foundation for fostering a moderate, inclusive, democratic, and responsible political culture among Generation Z in contemporary Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mathematics learning in post-disaster situations through the implementation of ethnopedagogy-based Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) to improve students’ problem-solving abilities and psychosocial conditions. Post-disaster conditions often affect students’ concentration, learning motivation, and emotional stability, causing the learning process to become less effective. Therefore, a contextual and student-centered learning approach is needed to support both academic achievement and psychosocial recovery. This study employed a mixed methods approach with an embedded quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest model. The participants were 28 students of UPTD SD Negeri 3 Percontohan Peusangan, Aceh. Data were collected through tests, observations, questionnaires, and interviews, then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings revealed that RME and ethnopedagogy-based learning improved students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. The students’ average score increased from 54.21 to 78.64 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, while the average N-Gain score of 0.53 was categorized as moderate. In addition, students’ psychosocial conditions also improved, particularly in self-confidence, social interaction, and emotional stability. The integration of Acehnese cultural values, such as mutual cooperation and deliberation, created a more active, meaningful, and supportive learning environment in post-disaster mathematics education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the drill method in teaching the memorization of the prayer recited after Dhuha prayer and to analyze the improvement of students' memorization ability in grade IV of MIN 20 Aceh Besar. This study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, carried out in two cycles with 32 students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation of teacher and student activities and an oral memorization test, then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the drill method was implemented through stages of prayer recitation by the teacher, classical imitation, group practice, pair practice, and individual practice in the form of memorization recitation, accompanied by direct correction of makhraj and tajwid errors. Teacher activity increased from 83.33% (good category) in Cycle I to 94.16% (very good category) in Cycle II, while student activity increased from 78.33% (good) to 90.83% (very good). The average memorization score increased from 71.44 to 79.41, with classical mastery increasing from 68.75% to 93.75%, exceeding the research success indicator of 75%. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the drill method is effective in improving students' ability to memorize the prayer recited after Dhuha prayer in grade IV of MIN 20 Aceh Besar.
