Abstract

This study aimed to determine the interaction and main effects of organic NPK fertilizer and biosaka on the growth and yield of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cultivar Wilis. The research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Islam Riau, from November 2024 to January 2025 using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor was the dose of organic NPK fertilizer (0, 20, 40, and 60 g per plant), while the second factor was the concentration of biosaka (0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 ml L⁻¹ of water). The observed parameters included plant height, stem diameter, flowering time, harvesting time, leaf chlorophyll content, number of active root nodules, number of pods per plant, fresh seed weight per plant, dry seed weight per plant, and 100-seed dry weight. Data were statistically analyzed and further tested using the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction between organic NPK fertilizer and biosaka significantly affected stem diameter, flowering time, leaf chlorophyll content, number of active root nodules, number of pods per plant, fresh seed weight per plant, dry seed weight per plant, and 100-seed dry weight but had no significant effect on plant height and harvesting time. The best treatment was obtained with 60 g of organic NPK fertilizer per plant combined with 8 ml L⁻¹ biosaka. The main effect of organic NPK fertilizer significantly influenced all observed parameters, with the best result at a dose of 60 g per plant. Similarly, biosaka had a significant impact on all observed parameters, with the best result at a concentration of 8 ml L⁻¹.

Abstract

This article examines the urgency of establishing a State Vocational Madrasah Aliyah (MAKN) in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK), West Nusa Tenggara, as a strategic investment in meeting the needs of education and skilled labor in the tourism sector and related industries. The Mandalika KEK, as a super-priority tourism destination, requires competent human resources to support economic growth while still fortifying the "moral-religious" spirit of the local community from the onslaught of various tourist cultures that come one after another. This article uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, secondary data analysis, and interviews with relevant stakeholders, including local government officials, tourism industry players, and community leaders. The results of the analysis show that the establishment of MAKN with relevant vocational programs, such as hospitality, culinary arts, and tourism, will have a significant positive impact. MAKN is expected to improve the quality of local human resources, create jobs, and encourage the development of small and medium enterprises. In addition, MAKN is also likely to support sustainable development in the area. Support from the local government, the Ministry of Religion, and industry players is a crucial factor in realizing a quality and competitive MAKN. This article concludes that the establishment of MAKN is an important educational investment for the future of Mandalika, in line with the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025-2045, and recommends a policy of important collaboration between various parties to ensure the success of its implementation.

Abstract

Abstract

In children under five, underweight remains a nutritional problem that can impair growth and increase susceptibility to illness. Underweight is influenced by inadequate nutrient intake, particularly energy and protein, low vegetable and fruit consumption, and the presence of infectious diseases. This study aimed to determine the relationship between energy, protein, vegetable and fruit intake and infectious diseases with underweight incidence among children under five in Sungai Bamban Village, working area of UPTD Rantau Badauh Health Center, in 2025. This study used an analytic observational method with a cross sectional design. The population was all children under five in Sungai Bamban Village, with a total sample of 79 children. The dependent variable was underweight status based on the weight-for-age index, while the independent variables were energy intake, protein intake, vegetable intake, fruit intake, and infectious diseases. Dietary data were collected using a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and infectious disease history was obtained through interviews. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that 26.6% of children were underweight. As many as 46.8% had inadequate energy intake, 50.6% had inadequate protein intake, 60.8% had low vegetable intake, 51.9% had low fruit intake, and 45.6% had a history of infectious diseases. There were significant relationships between energy, protein, vegetable and fruit intake, infectious diseases, and underweight incidence among children under five (p<0.05). Families are expected to improve children's dietary quality by ensuring adequate energy and protein intake, increasing vegetable and fruit consumption, and preventing and managing infectious diseases through appropriate health services

Abstract

In Indonesia, Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) among pregnant women remains a nutritional problem that increases the risk of pregnancy complications, preterm birth, and low birth weight, and contributes to stunting. Data from the working area of UPTD Puskesmas Barambai indicate increasing CED cases, while early marriage is still found in the community. This study aimed to determine the relationship between dietary patterns, nutritional knowledge, and early marriage with the incidence of CED among pregnant women in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas Barambai. A case–control design was used with 48 pregnant women, consisting of 16 cases and 32 controls. Data were collected through interviews using a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) for dietary patterns, a nutritional knowledge questionnaire, early marriage age data, and Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) measurements. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test with a significance level of α=0.05. The results showed that 33.4% of pregnant women experienced CED, 66.6% had poor dietary patterns, 22.9% had low nutritional knowledge, and 31.3% married early. There were significant relationships between dietary patterns, nutritional knowledge, and early marriage with CED incidence (p<0.05). Pregnant women are expected to improve dietary quality and strengthen nutrition knowledge through education, and early marriage prevention programs should be enhanced to reduce CED incidence.
