Abstract

Purpose - In the era of rapid digital transformation, madrasah principals are required not only to possess strong leadership skills but also to demonstrate digital literacy in managing schools and guiding the educational community. This study aims to develop a digital e-book on madrasah principal leadership rooted in the cultural values of pesantren, intended to foster digital literacy among students and school stakeholders. Methods - Employing a research and development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, the e-book was validated by material experts, media experts, and practitioners. Findings – The validation results revealed high feasibility scores: 90.1% from material experts, 89.2% from media experts, and 91.5% from practitioners, with an overall average of 90.26%, categorized as "very feasible." In terms of practicality, student users rated the e-book at 81.48%, indicating a "very practical" category, particularly in aspects such as ease of use, cognitive content, and information presentation. The e-book integrates pesantren values such as sincerity, discipline, and community-based leadership into digital learning, providing a culturally grounded yet technologically relevant tool. Research implications / limitations - This research offers practical implications for the development of educational media that aligns with Islamic educational culture, though further studies are needed to assess long-term impacts on leadership behavior and digital competence in diverse school contexts. Originality/Value - This study presents an innovative blend of pesantren-based leadership education and digital literacy training through an interactive e-book, addressing a gap in culturally contextualized digital resources for Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

A company's success in achieving its predetermined goals is possibly resulted from its good managerial skills in planning, organizing, mobilizing, and controlling. Many companies then look for a model or system to achieve those goals. Halal Assurance System (HAS 23000) is one expert management system used as a model by many companies in implementing the halal production processes. The HAS 23000 concept certainly has the management constructions, such as management functions. This library research used a descriptive-qualitative approach. The results showed that there were 11 criteria in HAS 23000 related to the management functions based on the perspective of George Robert Terry consisting of planning function, organizing function, mobilizing function, controlling or supervising function, etc. The theoretical approach proposed by George Robert Terry on management functions was used to analyze those contained in HAS 23000 and show the novelty when compared to those conducted by the previous researchers

Abstract

This study aims to describe the interaction between MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council), the Fatwa Commission, and the MUI's LP POM (Assessment Institute for Food, Drugs, and Cosmetics) regarding halal products and the response from society (both producers and consumers) towards halal product certification. This type of research is field research in the form of applied research. Data collection techniques include surveys, interviews, and documentation. The sources of research data are primary data from field research and secondary data from literature research. The data analysis technique used is qualitative, consisting of descriptive explanations, eclectic analysis, content analysis, and rationalistic analysis. Data accuracy is maintained through triangulation. This research is concentrated on the LP POM MUI in four provinces on the island of Java, with samples taken from Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, and Surabaya. The research results indicate several important points; first, the response of producers and consumers towards the halal product certification carried out by the LP POM MUI is generally low/negative. Second, the factors causing the low/negative response from producers include the lack of certainty in halal product certification laws, the tendency of producers to prioritize business aspects, and weak government oversight of raw materials and additives that fall into the non-halal category. Third, the low/negative response from the public towards halal product certification is also influenced by low purchasing power, low education and knowledge among some Indonesian Muslims about halal products, and differences in lifestyle due to the geographical location of consumers in rural and urban areas, coastal and mountainous regions.

Abstract

This study investigates the comparative dynamics of economic politics during the Roman-Persian period and the contemporary era through the lens of Islamic economic principles. It explores key dimensions such as resource management, wealth distribution, and the societal impact of policy, particularly in relation to social inequality, resource exploitation, and moral degradation. Employing a qualitative methodology based on an extensive literature review of secondary sources, this research reveals that while the Roman-Persian political economy succeeded in maintaining imperial stability, it also perpetuated significant social disparities through excessive taxation and territorial exploitation. In contrast, the modern economic paradigm, driven by technological innovation and global integration, remains susceptible to systemic crises and widening inequities. The findings suggest that core Islamic tenets—namely zakat, the prohibition of usury (riba), and equitable wealth distribution—offer a normative framework for constructing a more just and resilient economic order, both historically and in contemporary contexts.

Abstract

Through a qualitative approach, this research examines the impact of political regulation on Indonesia's sharia economic growth. With the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia has the potential to become a global sharia economic center. The study highlights the importance of strict regulation, such as Act No. 21 of 2008 concerning Sharia Banking, in creating a system conducive to sharia-based economic growth. Among other things, overlapping regulations, a literate sharia monetary system and damage to infrastructure continue to be significant constraints. Literature analysis shows that halal product development, financial stability and policies are important factors in driving sharia economic growth. In addition, cooperation between government, industry and the general public is needed to resolve disputes and improve the state of the sharia economy. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide recommendations to optimize political regulations in accordance with sharia principles, thereby enabling the Indonesian economy to grow in an inclusive and durable way.

Abstract

This research examines the phenomenon of money politics in regional head elections in Indonesia from the perspective of Islamic economics. Money politics refers to the practice of providing financial or material incentives to voters in order to influence their choices. This practice not only contradicts the principles of a healthy democracy but also violates the values of Islamic economics, which prioritize justice, transparency, and social responsibility. In Islamic economics, transactions or actions that lead to injustice, manipulation, and social harm are strictly prohibited (haram) because they threaten the balance and harmony within society. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, in which data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation related to cases of regional head elections in Indonesia involving money politics practices. The research findings reveal that money politics distorts the electoral process, results in the election of low-quality leaders, and weakens political legitimacy in society. From the perspective of Islamic economics, money politics undermines the moral and spiritual integrity of society because it encourages voters to act dishonestly and neglect their moral responsibilities. The implications of this research suggest the implementation of stricter preventive measures in election monitoring, more in-depth political education based on Islamic values, and the strict enforcement of laws against money politics perpetrators. This study highlights the importance of the role of Islamic economics in strengthening ethics in political life and rejecting practices that cause harm to the wider community.

Abstract

The milkfish pindang business in Junok Village, Sreseh District, Sampang Regency, is a leading business that is highly sought after by the local community. However, this business has not yet developed optimally and is still limited to the area. Therefore, efforts are needed to optimize village downstreaming and access to Islamic microfinance to support milkfish pindang production so that it can expand further and provide a greater economic impact for the community. This study aims to analyze the role of the village government in optimizing both of these aspects and contributing to sustainable local economic development. The research method used was qualitative, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and observation. The results show that the Junok village government has undertaken various efforts to optimize village downstreaming, including milkfish cultivation training, setting harvest schedules, and also plans to facilitate financing from Islamic microfinance institutions (LKMS). Despite several obstacles, such as a lack of financial knowledge among farmers and limited equipment, the village government continues to strive to address these issues through mentoring and education. Overall, the efforts made have been quite optimal and have the potential to support the development of the milkfish pindang business in the future.
