Abstract

The increasingly worrying global environmental crisis is not only the responsibility of experts or activists, but also part of the responsibility of the world of education, including Islamic Education. Islamic education plays an important role in forming a generation that is not only religious. This study aims to examine the implementation of environmentally friendly Islamic education through the Pancasila Rahmatan lil 'Alamin Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5RA) at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Falah Tanjung Baru. The main focus of the activities includes waste management, greening through tree planting, and reusing used waste, which are combined with Islamic values such as responsibility, mutual cooperation, and amanah as a manifestation of the role of humans as khalifah fī al-ardh. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, while data is obtained through interview, observation, and documentation techniques, then analyzed thematically and descriptively. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of P5RA makes a significant contribution to strengthening students' character, especially in terms of ecological awareness, discipline, and social empathy. The project-based learning model developed by teachers has been proven to encourage the growth of responsibility and spiritual awareness of the environment as part of worship to Allah SWT and this finding implies that the integration of Islamic values and environmental education in the madrasah curriculum creates contextual and sustainable learning.

Abstract

The phenomenon of human trafficking (TPPO) is considered an extraordinary crime due to its complex and multidimensional characteristics. TPPO does not only involve individual perpetrators, but is often carried out through organized criminal networks that have certain structures, roles, and strategies in recruiting, moving, and exploiting victims. The formulation of the problem in this study is what is the basis for the Judge's considerations in sentencing perpetrators of human trafficking related to online prostitution through the Michat application based on Decision Number: 892 / Pid.Sus / 2024 / PN.Tjk? and how is the relevance of the Judge's considerations in sentencing perpetrators of human trafficking related to online prostitution through the Michat application reviewed from the aspects of legal certainty, justice, and benefit in Decision Number: 892 / Pid.Sus / 2024 / PN.Tjk?. The research method uses a normative and empirical juridical approach. The types of data used are secondary data and primary data. Data collection through library research and field research. The data analysis used is qualitative juridical. Based on the results of the research and discussion, conclusions can be drawn, including the basis for the Judge's considerations in sentencing the perpetrator of the crime of human trafficking related to online prostitution through the Michat application based on Decision Number: 892/Pid.Sus/2024/PN.Tjk covering legal aspects, facts, and the purpose of the sentence. From a legal perspective, the judge referred to Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of Human Trafficking, Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography, and the ITE Law so that the defendant's actions are clearly qualified as human trafficking and digital-based pornography violations. From a factual perspective, the judge assessed the trial evidence that showed the recruitment, transportation, and exploitation of victims through the Michat application, as well as the victim's socially and psychologically vulnerable condition. Considerations for the purpose of sentencing include general prevention, specific prevention, and protection and rehabilitation of victims. The relevance of the Judge's considerations in sentencing perpetrators of human trafficking related to online prostitution through the Michat application is reviewed from the aspects of legal certainty, justice, and benefit in Decision Number: 892/Pid.Sus/2024/PN.Tjk. Legal certainty is reflected in the consistent application of the Human Trafficking Law, the Pornography Law, and the ITE Law. Justice is demonstrated through protection of victims and the imposition of proportional sentences for perpetrators. The benefits of law are seen from the preventive, corrective, and rehabilitative objectives of criminal law, as well as providing a deterrent effect for perpetrators and the community. Based on the above conclusions, it can be suggested that law enforcement officers are expected to increase the systematic collection of digital evidence and strengthen psychological assistance and protection for victims to support an effective judicial process. Judges are advised to integrate legal certainty, justice, and benefit in criminal decisions through the application of consistent procedural standards, victim protection, and prevention and rehabilitation programs oriented towards social benefits and a deterrent effect.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) instructional model on students’ learning motivation in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subject at SMP Negeri 3 Merbau Mataram. The research was prompted by the low level of students’ learning motivation, particularly in terms of learning drive and learning needs, which is attributed to conventional instructional practices that lack relevance to real-life contexts. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a post-test only control group. The participants consisted of students from Class VIII A as the experimental group and Class VIII B as the control group. The data collection instrument was a Guttman scale-based learning motivation questionnaire, which had undergone validity and reliability testing. Data prerequisite tests included normality and homogeneity analyses, confirming that the data met the assumptions of parametric statistics. Data were analyzed using a pooled variance t-test at a 0.05 significance level. The results revealed a significant difference in learning motivation between students who received CTL-based instruction and those taught through conventional methods, as indicated by a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.023 < 0.05. These findings affirm that the CTL approach effectively enhances students’ motivation in learning PAI by offering more meaningful learning experiences closely related to real-life situations. Therefore, the implementation of the CTL model in PAI instruction is highly recommended to strengthen students’ intrinsic motivation and deepen their understanding of religious values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual (SAVI) learning model on students’ learning outcomes in the Akidah Akhlak subject, specifically at the cognitive level C2 (understanding). The research is motivated by the low level of students’ conceptual comprehension, which is largely attributed to teacher-centered instruction and limited multisensory engagement in the learning process. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design, namely a post-test–only control group design. The sample consisted of two eighth-grade classes at MTs Ma’arif 31 Tribhakti: an experimental class that implemented the SAVI model and a control class that received conventional instruction. Data were collected using a C2-level learning outcome test and analyzed through normality testing, homogeneity testing, and an independent samples t-test.The results demonstrate that the SAVI learning model has a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes. The t-test findings indicate a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups, confirming that the SAVI model effectively enhances students’ understanding of Akidah Akhlak material. This improvement is attributed to the model’s integration of multisensory activities that support deeper comprehension and facilitate the internalization of moral values. The novelty of this research lies in its focused application of the SAVI model to strengthen C2-level understanding in Akidah Akhlak, a topic that has received limited scholarly attention. The study highlights that the SAVI model is particularly effective in clarifying abstract concepts and fostering meaningful learning experiences. The implications suggest that SAVI can serve as an innovative instructional alternative for teachers, enabling more active, engaging, and student-centered learning that ultimately contributes to enhancing the overall quality of Akidah Akhlak education.

Abstract

This article examines students’ motivational pathways in choosing the Islamic Primary School Teacher Education Programme and proposes an Integrative Motivation Pathway Model for prospective Islamic primary teachers. Using a descriptive qualitative design at UIN Raden Intan Lampung, primary data were collected through open-ended questionnaires administered to 150 first-year students and semi-structured interviews with 10 purposively selected students and the Programme Secretary. Data were analyzed following Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, supported by source and method triangulation. The findings show that internal motivational pathways are anchored in a combination of spiritual drive, professional interest in teaching, and aspirations for character-based self-development. Family support, programme image, a religious campus culture, lecturer influence, and perceived career prospects within Islamic educational institutions reinforce external pathways. Synthesising these pathways, the proposed model conceptualizes programme choice as an interlocking process in which spiritual, professional, and social dimensions converge from initial intention to sustained career commitment. The model extends the application of Maslow’s and Herzberg’s motivational frameworks within Islamic teacher education, offering practical implications for program governance and student motivation development.

Abstract

The global environmental crisis, characterized by global warming, deforestation, and ecosystem degradation, has raised demands for moral and spiritual responsibility in maintaining ecological balance. In Islamic teachings, humankind is designated as khalifah fil-ardh (vicegerent on earth), entrusted with the duty to preserve God’s creation and prevent environmental destruction (fasād). This study was conducted to analyze the human responsibility as khalifah in managing natural resources from an Islamic theological perspective, to identify contemporary challenges that hinder its implementation, and to formulate practical operational strategies. A qualitative-descriptive approach was employed through literature analysis of Islamic sources and previous studies related to environmental ethics. The findings indicate that the values of khalifah provide a normative framework for ecological justice; however, their implementation remains weak due to the dominance of economic interests, weak regulatory enforcement, and the lack of ecological awareness among communities. Therefore, the strengthening of khalifah values needs to be carried out through sustainable public policies, spiritually based environmental education, and active community participation. It is thus emphasized that the theocentric paradigm in Islam can serve as an ethical foundation for sustainable development and global environmental preservation.

Abstract

The increasingly complex global environmental crisis has not only resulted in ecological degradation but also reflects a weakening of the moral and spiritual relationship between humans and nature. From an Islamic perspective, various studies emphasize the importance of integrating theological values, the principles of maqāṣid al-shari‘ah, and fiqh methodology as an ethical foundation for environmental stewardship. This study aims to develop an integrative model of Islamic environmental jurisprudence (fiqh al-bi’ah) that combines theological dimensions, the maqaṣid framework, and contemporary fiqh methodologies, thereby providing both normative and operational foundations for public policy and socio-ecological practices within Muslim communities. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research. Primary data consist of Qur’anic verses, hadiths, classical and modern scholarly works, and fatwa documents particularly Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) Fatwa No. 86 of 2023. Secondary data include books, scientific articles, and research reports related to environmental fiqh. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using content analysis involving data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Islamic theological principles offer a strong moral foundation for environmental preservation through the concepts of tawḥid, amanah, khilafah, and mizan. Meanwhile, maqaṣid al-shari‘ah effectively expands the objectives of Islamic law to include ḥifẓ al-bi’ah (environmental protection), thus granting strong legal legitimacy to ecological preservation. The study also reveals that environmental fiqh still faces methodological fragmentation and lacks integration within operational legal frameworks. It concludes that an integrative eco-fiqh model that combines theology, maqaṣid, and contemporary fiqh methodology is essential for responding comprehensively to ecological crises and for strengthening the implementation of Sharia-based policies in education, fatwa development, and socio-environmental practices.
