Abstract

This study examines the fundamental issue of epistemological tension as well as the potential for synergy between classical integrative methodology and contemporary integrative methodology in the study of Islamic education. The purpose of this study is to analyze in depth the similarities, differences, and potential synthesis of both approaches as an effort to construct a relevant paradigm of Islamic education in the modern era. The research was conducted using a qualitative method with a content analysis approach and comparative analysis. The results indicate that classical integrative methodology is rooted in the concept of wahdat al-‘ilm with a theocentric orientation, whereas contemporary integrative methodology is dialogical, multidisciplinary, and responsive to the development of modern scientific knowledge. A new finding of this study is the importance of reconstructing a methodology that not only preserves the values of tawhid but also promotes social transformation and scientific innovation. The main conclusion of this study is that a synthesis of the two is necessary to produce a transformative-integrative model that is relevant to the needs of Islamic Higher Education Institutions in the era of globalization. These findings are significant for the development of curricula, educational policies, and interdisciplinary research oriented toward forming individuals who are holistic, critical, productive, and contributive.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an integrative learning psychology model that unifies Al-Ghazali’s methodology of Tazkiyatun Nafs with Carl Jung’s Individuation process as a transformative framework for Islamic Religious Education. The research departs from a critique of contemporary Islamic Religious Education, which tends to be predominantly cognitive-normative and therefore fails to cultivate inner transformation and holistic character development in learners. Through a comparative-theoretical literature study, this research analyzes the structural and functional correspondences between Islamic psychological concepts Nafs, Qalb, Ruh, and Tazkiyah and Jungian concepts such as the Shadow, Ego, Collective Unconscious, and the Self. The findings indicate a strong functional equivalence, particularly between Nafs Ammarah and the Shadow, as well as between Qalb and the Self/Depth Unconscious. This synthesis produces the “Tazkiyah-Individuation Learning Psychology Model,” which consists of three main stages: Takhalli (purification from psychic inferiority/Shadow), Tahalli (cultivation of akhlaq al-karimah and strengthening of the Ego–Self Axis), and Tajalli (spiritual actualization analogous to Self-Realization). The model offers a procedural framework for Islamic Religious Education curricula to integrate moral development, mental well-being, and spirituality into the learning process. This research concludes that integrating the two theories can bridge methodological gaps in the psychology of religion and provide a robust theoretical foundation for developing holistic character education. However, since this study remains theoretical, further research is needed to empirically examine the model’s effectiveness within Islamic Religious Education and psycho-spiritual counseling contexts.

Abstract

This study discusses Islamic epistemology with a focus on the integration between revelation and rationality in the construction of knowledge. The main objective of this research is to examine the position of the Qur’an as the primary (primordial) source within the Islamic epistemological system, the role of Hadith as its explanatory component, and how their methodological integration forms a holistic and non-dichotomous structure of knowledge. This research employs a qualitative approach through a literature review, analyzing both classical and contemporary works such as those of Al-Ghazali, Imam al-Shafi‘i, M. Abid al-Jabiri, Fazlur Rahman, and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas. The findings indicate that the Qur’an possesses the highest epistemological authority as the ultimate source of truth, while Hadith functions as a practical interpretation that actualizes the Qur’anic values in daily life. Epistemological integration requires a methodological hierarchy in which revelation serves as the central axis, and reason acts as an instrument for contextual understanding and conceptualization. Knowledge in Islam is not dichotomous, as in Western traditions, but rather integrates the spiritual and rational, ethical and empirical dimensions. In conclusion, Islamic epistemology constructs a holistic knowledge system grounded in revelation as the source of values and truth, with reason as a tool for interpretation. This model enables the development of knowledge that is spiritually meaningful, socially relevant, and firmly rooted in divine values.

Abstract

Modern educational systems frequently emphasize cognitive outcomes, often at the expense of moral and spiritual development, resulting in graduates who may be academically adept yet ethically or spiritually unfulfilled. This study aims to reconstruct a holistic educational paradigm inspired by the pedagogical philosophies of three Islamic intellectuals—Al-Ghazali, Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyah, and Az-Zarnuji—by examining their conceptualizations of purposive learning, moral cultivation, and the role of the educator. Using a qualitative literature review method, the research analyzes primary classical texts and compares their holistic framework with Western holistic educational traditions such as Waldorf and the Humboldtian model. The findings reveal a tripartite pedagogical structure: spiritual purification (tazkiyat al-nafs), ethical integrity as a safeguard against intellectual hubris, and etiquette-infused teacher–student dynamics. These elements, when synthesized with Western models that prioritize creativity, individuality, and interdisciplinary growth, offer a robust paradigm for integrated human development. Abstract

Contemporary Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is often hindered by a theoretical dichotomy that separates profound spiritual values (Al-Ghazali's psycho-spiritual focus on Qalb purification) from the necessities of social pragmatism and vocational skills (Ibn Khaldun's sociology of education). This gap compromises PAI's ultimate goal of forming holistic individuals (Insan Kamil). This research addresses this critical inadequacy by formulating an explicitly integrated model of developmental psychology for PAI. Employing a philosophical comparative methodology, robustly supported by a systematic review and synthesis of evidence from books and articles, the study analyzes the necessary convergence between Al-Ghazali’s framework and Ibn Khaldun’s pedagogy, including ‘Umran and Tadarruj (gradual learning). The central finding is the Progressive Ethical Habitus Model. This model resolves the classical philosophical conflict: it utilizes Ibn Khaldun’s structured, phased methodology as the essential practical framework for internalizing the spiritual and ethical content of Al-Ghazali. This integration ensures that moral values transition from theoretical understanding into a permanent, functional disposition (Habitus), successfully reconstructing PAI to produce graduates who are both spiritually robust and socially adaptive to complex global challenges and modern moral crises.

Abstract

Literacy is an ability that must be possessed by every individual (student). Literacy plays an important role for students. One of the literacy that must be mastered by students is mathematical literacy. Regarding mathematical literacy, many previous researchers have conducted research and even recent research related to this literacy ability is associated with gender. This study aims to map and describe students' literacy skills and differentiate students' literacy skills based on gender. This research is a literature study research by referring to eight article documents. The article documents used as sources were taken randomly from the internet. The results of the analysis of this article document are as follows: 1. Research related to literacy and gender is mostly carried out at the high school level than at the junior high school level, 2. The indicators used in assessing students' literacy abilities are indicators modified from indicators used by the Quasar General Rubric , indicators used by PISA and indicators referring to problem solving steps, and 3. male students' mathematical literacy skills are better than female students' mathematical literacy skills. Literasi merupakan kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap individu (siswa). Literasi memegang peranan penting bagi siswa. Salah satu literasi yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa adalah literasi matematika. Terkait literasi matematika, sudah banyak peneliti terdahulu melakukan penelitian bahkan penelitian terkini terkait kemampuan literasi ini dikaitkan dengan gender. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi siswa dan membedakan kemampuan literasi siswa berdasarkan gender. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi literatur dengan merujuk kepada delapan dokumen artikel. Dokumen-dokumen artikel yang digunakan sebagai sumber diambil secara acak dari internet. Hasil dari analisis terhadap dokumen artikel ini adalah sebagai berikut: 1. Penelitian terkait literasi dan gender lebih banyak dilakukan di tingkat SMA daripada tingkat SMP, 2. Indikator yang digunakan dalam menilai kemampuan literasi siswa yaitu indikator yang dimodifikasi dari indikator yang digunakan oleh Quasar General Rubric, indikator yang digunakan PISA dan indikator yang mengacu pada langkah-langkah penyelesaian masalah, dan 3. kemampuan literasi matematika siswa laki-laki lebih baik daripada kemampuan litetarasi matematika siswa perempuan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berupaya mengintetgrasikan model penafsiran hermeneutika Al-Qur’an dan Hadits di era kontemporer dalam Lembaga Pendidikan Islam. Model penafiran hermeneutika ini dipandang semakin relevan di era kontemporer dalam Lembaga Pendidikan Islam. Ketika wacana tafsir mudah tersebar secara cepat namun seringkali bersifat parsial, reduktif, bahkan dijadikan legitimasi untuk sikap ekstrem dan intoleran. Maka dari itu pentingnya penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat dan melakukan adaptasi terhadap perkembangan zaman pada saat sekarang ini. Metode penelitian menggunakan studi kepustakaan dengan sumber data dari buku, jurnal yang berkaitan dengan masalah yang sedang diteliti. Proses analisis dilakukan dengan menelaah, membandingkan, dan mengintegrasikan berbagai perspektif untuk membangun kerangka teori yang komprehensif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hermeneutika integratif dapat menghasilkan pemahaman yang lebih menyeluruh, seimbang, dan kontekstual. Walaupun ada yang mendukung ataupun menolak hermeneutika ini dalam penerapan penafsiran Al-Qur’an dan hadits namun metode ini juga diperlukan untuk penafsiran kita suci umat Islam. Pendekatan ini membuka peluang bagi Al-Qur’an dan hadis untuk memberikan jawaban terhadap problem-problem kontemporer di Lembaga Pendidikan Islam. Dengan demikian, hermeneutika integratif tidak hanya bernilai teoretis dalam ranah akademik, tetapi juga memiliki fungsi praktis sebagai pedoman sosial yang mampu menjaga otoritas wahyu sekaligus relevan dengan dinamika global. Dengan adanya hermeneutika ini penafsiran Al-Qur’an dapat mengatasi masalah-masalah yang dihadapi dalam Lembaga Pendidikan Islam pada saat sekarang ini.

Abstract

The paradigm of combining science and Islam is an effort to unite modern knowledge with Islamic religious values philosophically and epistemologically. Until now, higher education in the Islamic world has often separated religious knowledge from general knowledge, which has led to a separation in academic thinking and practice. This study aims to explore the philosophical basis for combining science and Islam, as well as its impact on the development of higher education. Using a qualitative method based on literature review, this study finds that combining science and Islam is not only theoretical but can also be applied in real life. This is done by considering revelation as a source of values and science as a tool for advancing civilization. This paradigm is capable of creating a comprehensive higher education model that focuses on the development of knowledge with ethics and is able to respond to global challenges without losing Islamic identity. Thus, the integration of science and Islam has great potential as a basis for developing curricula, learning strategies, and research directions in Islamic universities.

Abstract

Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit kronik yang memerlukan pengobatan jangka panjang dengan biaya tinggi. Analisis efektivitas biaya (Cost Effectiveness Analysis, CEA) digunakan untuk menentukan pilihan terapi yang efisien antara biaya dan hasil klinis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui terapi antidiabetik oral yang paling cost-effective pada pasien rawat jalan diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Rumah Sakit Islam Jakarta. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif observasional cross sectional dengan data retrospektif dari rekam medis pasien bulan November 2024. Sampel meliputi 250 pasien BPJS dan 47 pasien umum. Analisis dilakukan terhadap biaya medis langsung (obat, laboratorium, konsultasi) dan efektivitas penurunan kadar gula darah sewaktu (GDS). Nilai Average Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ACER) dan Incremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ICER) digunakan untuk menentukan terapi yang paling efisien. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada pasien BPJS, terapi Glimepiride monoterapi memiliki nilai ACER terendah (Rp1.103,05) dan efektivitas 100%. Kombinasi Metformin–Glimepiride menunjukkan ACER Rp1.934,14 dan efektivitas 69,44%. Pada pasien umum, kombinasi Glucophage XR–Glimepiride memiliki ACER Rp5.128,10 dan efektivitas 100%.. Kesimpulan: Terapi Glimepiride merupakan regimen paling cost-effective untuk pasien BPJS, sedangkan kombinasi Glucophage XR–Glimepiride paling efisien untuk pasien umum.

Abstract

Thesis as one of the requirements to obtain a bachelor degree, ideally it can be completed in one semester, but many students finish the thesis more than the allocated time. This condition is caused by many factors including gender differences, male and female students have many differences especially in the allocation of time to finish a thesis. This research aimed to find out the factors that influence the time needed to finish a thesis and the classification of these factors based on their gender. The factors observed were GPA, gender and competence of the supervisor, types of research used, source of the data  and technique of the data collection. The statistical analysis used was the CHAID method. The result of this study showed that out of 387 male students who have graduated in period I to VI, it was found that the factors which influence them to finish their thesis were GPA. While for female students, out of 1150 data, three factors that influence them were major, sources of data and expertise areas of the main supervisors. Moreover, three characteristics of students who finish thesis longer than 6 months were male students with a GPA less than 3,34, female students from Islamic Education/English Department/Math Department  with the source primary/ secondary data or others, and female students from guidance and couceling department by the psychologist’s/ others as main supervisor.Keywords: thesis, allocated time to finish thesis,  CHAID method.
