Abstract

The preliminary analysis results indicate that the quality of automotive vocational learning is not optimal. This study aims to develop a work-based learning model that incorporates the Teaching Factory concept (WBL-TEFA) with the goal of enhancing the learning achievement of automotive vocational students. Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model were implemented in this study. The results indicate that the WBL-TEFA learning model introduced novel elements to the model syntax through the following activity steps: (1) initiation, (2) receiving orders, (3) gathering necessary information, (4) generating and sorting possible solutions, (5) executing orders, (6) quality control, and (7) assessment. To implement this syntax, various supporting materials were developed, including model handbooks, lecturer and student manuals, and textbooks. Following the implementation, the experimental class demonstrated a significantly higher learning achievement gain score of 51.62 compared to the control class, which achieved a gain score of 42.52. Additionally, there was an improvement in task management abilities, work environment skills, interpersonal skills, workplace learning skills, and student critical thinking. In summary, the utilization of the WBL-TEFA learning model proved effective in enhancing students' academic performance, as evidenced by a statistically significant.

Abstract

This research aims to develop sensor and transducer e-modules based on 4Cs skills using the Kvisoft Flipbook application to improve the quality of learning in automotive engineering. The main focus of the research is to assess the validity, practicality, and student response to the e-module design developed. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. Data collection techniques included validation questionnaires, user practicality questionnaires, and student response questionnaires to the e-modules. The e-module was rated highly valid by 89% of e-module experts and 88% of material experts and highly practical according to the assessment of lecturers (89.09%) and students (81.81%). The evaluation showed that students who used the e-module achieved a higher average score than the control group, signalling the effectiveness of the e-module in improving critical thinking skills, communication, collaboration, creativity (4Cs), and material understanding. These findings emphasize the importance of technology integration in vocational education to prepare students for the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and encourage innovation in teaching methodologies.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is adopted to enhance learner autonomy and contextual relevance in vocational education. This study examines the correlation between the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and students’ learning interest in the DDTO subject at SMK Negeri 1 Sungai Limau. A quantitative correlational design was employed with 38 TAB students. Data were collected via a Likert questionnaire; descriptive scores indicated 73% (high) implementation and 74% (high) learning interest. Assumptions were satisfied, and Pearson correlation yielded r = 0.675; p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with R² = 45.5%, evidencing a significant positive association between implementation quality and learning interest. The findings imply the need to strengthen project-based learning, student choice, pedagogical mentoring, and practice facilities so that autonomy translates into sustained engagement within the SMK setting.

Abstract

The development of ICT has influenced the development of learning media that are increasingly interesting and interactive. But there are still many students who have a low enthusiasm for learning, this can be seen with the number of students who rarely attend, do not focus on learning, lack of motivation to learn. Based on the results of observations and interviews, it was found that the learning of starter system maintenance for some students is difficult to understand learning, stammering time and study space, learning is only in the form of job sheet handouts and power point slides from the teacher , students only take notes and are confused when repeating lessons at home, lack of reference sources when making assignments, low interest and motivation in learning, teacher-centered learning , students are less active and cannot measure their learning outcomes independently so that it is indispensable learning by using e-modules. This study aims to develop learning media in the form of interactive e-modules for Starter System Care with a discovery learning model that meets the validity aspects of the media. The research method used is the development (R&D) of the 4-D model, including the Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate stages, but the Disseminate stage is not carried out. The results showed validity in the validation of learning media with Validator 1 of 91%, Validator 2 of 96% and Validator 3 of 83% with an average of 90% of very valid categories. In the validation of material in the e-module, the results on Validator 1 were 9 3 %, Validator 2 96% and Validator 3 9 6% with an average of 9 5% very valid categories. Based on the results obtained, it shows that the learning media of the Starter System Care interactive e-module with the discovery learning model is feasible for students in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to design a simulator for a car air conditioning system as a learning medium, so that the learning objectives cici4d can be achieved properly and in accordance with the expected competencies. This design uses an electric motor drive to drive the AC system compressor so that it is easier to operate and does not produce air pollution and is made with a design that can be moved easily by having sturdy wheels. The electric motor is also equipped with an inverter that can adjust the rotation of the motor as in the conditions of a real car engine. This research model uses Research and Development which includes the stages: problem analysis, seeking information, designing a model, validating the design, evaluating the model, testing the model, revising the model, wider testing, finalizing the design. The results obtained are the creation of an AC simulator that has been validated by experts in terms of cici4d media and material in the very feasible category, then from the user side with 25 respondents giving a value in the very feasible category for use in learning. The increase in competency occurred by 23.90% with a comparison of the pretest value with the posttest value.

Abstract

The purpose of this analysis was to look at the teacher's ability to improve the teacher's ability to develop online-based teaching materials. The transition period between the pandemic and after requires strategies to ensure that the learning transition continues to provide students with comfort in their learning. The activity drew 30 people, all of whom were members of the West Sumatra Automotive Engineering Subject Teacher Consultation. They are divided into two categories: online and offline. The online module work created by the participants will be analyzed to determine the effectiveness of the learning and the teacher's ability to create online modules. As a result, participants can create effective learning modules. However, it takes longer for the presenters to teach those who are online how to complete the task.

Abstract

Numerous obstacles must be overcome by vocational schools, particularly in the area of developing technical and practical knowledge. The provision of skills improvement and reskilling for teachers and students, especially in the field of Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) in gasoline-powered vehicles, is the most fundamental issue at SMKN 1 Lembah Melintang that needs special attention, particularly for Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering (TKRO). The program's goal is to increase teachers' and students' proficiency in the use of tools and procedures for regular maintenance of the EFI system in cars. With a portion of 30:70, the participants will receive both theoretical and practical training. The results of the pretest and posttest show that this program has increased the competence and expertise of teachers and students. This is proved by significant growth from the prior competency in the use of tools and circular work steps, with student gains of 24% and teacher gains of 14%.
