Abstract

The majority of farmers in Karya Harapan Mukti Village are independent rubber and oil palm farmers (people's plantations). Generally the strategy used to increase sap production, farmers use synthetic fertilizers (chemical), but it has a negative impact on the environment and soil. The people of Karya Harapan Mukti Village complained about their low competence in agricultural production, only focusing on chemical fertilizers to increase their oil palm or rubber agricultural production. Traditionally, some people know the process of making organic fertilizer, known as compost. But the technology used is still simple, using a derrigen/bucket so that production is still very limited and less efficient. So that technological innovation is needed so that people can produce fertilizers independently, easily and cheaply. The aim of this program is to transfer bioreactor technology innovations to produce liquid organic fertilizer based on local microorganisms from rubber seeds, as well as provide training and competence to the community in processing plantation waste to produce liquid organic fertilizer that can be used to improve plantation quality. One technology that wants to be applied as an Appropriate Technological Innovation (TTG) for the people of Karya Harapan Mukti Village is through the application of bioreactor technology, it is expected to be able to introduce fermentation technology processes to the community and can increase the production of MOL-based liquid organic fertilizer as an effort to meet fertilizer needs in the community. farmers in Karya Harapan Mukti Village, Bungo Regency. Abstract

Seven Sungkai Peronemins compounds belong to the alkaloid group, Peronemin A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, and D1. Sungkai contains several bioactive compounds, triterpenoids, alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, steroids, and saponins which can act as anti-inflammatory candidates. Geometry optimization to find the most stable molecular structure and SMILES of the peronemin compound was used to predict pIC50 using the pChEMBL® program. From the test results of seven peronemin compounds, several candidate target molecules were obtained as potential anti-inflammatory agents, namely Angiotensin II type 2 (AT-2) receptors, Dihydrofolate reductase, and Phosphodiesterase 7A. Of the three target molecules, the Angiotensin II type 2 (AT-2) receptor on peronemin C1 has the highest pIC50 value of 6.79. The highest pIC50 value indicates an exponentially potent inhibitor in determining its biological activity. The anti-inflammatory function of AT-2 is revealed by its involvement in modulating mediators such as cytokines and chemokines.

Abstract

Infectious diseases caused by Staphylococcus aureus (Sa) bacteria reaching 70% of cases in Asia and can attack and survive in epithelial cells including endothelial cells. Attempts to overcome the infection caused by Sa by giving antibiotics, which work as antibacterial. Myana (Coleus atropurpureus L. Benth) leaves contain several active compounds that might act as antibacterial agents. This study aimed to analyze the antibacterial activity of Coleus Extract in vitro and to evaluate the formulation of the extract cream against the bacteria causing infection, Sa. Coleus leaves ethyl acetate extract contains alkaloids and tannins, the absorbance of Sa at the 3rd hour was getting smaller, from 0.668 to 0.552, this showed that the longer the incubation time of the extract against bacterial inoculation, the more bacteria died. Our cream formulation with criteria: the pH value, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion, and protection power. Our cream formulation results were then evaluated based on the standard, with criteria: the pH value, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion, and protection power. It seems that our cream is per the cream standards. It is semi-solid, brownish-white in color, smells typical of Coleus, and pH 6. Moreover, the cream is homogeneous with 5 cm of spreadability, 7 seconds for adhesion, and colorless. Moreover, we found that Coleus extract cream has better antibacterial activity than positive control with a wound closure time of 7-14 days for extract while more than 14 days for positive control.

Abstract

Jeruju (Acanthus ilicifolius) leaves ethanol extract contains flavonoids that function as an antiinflammatory source. So it is necessary to research to increase the utilization of ethanol extract of Acanthus ilicifolius leaves (A. ilicifolius L.) in encapsulations to increase the stability of antiinflammatory chemical compounds. Concentrated dyestuff extracts are often unstable, so they need to be converted into solid form, and one technique that can be done is encapsulation. Encapsulation aims to protect sensitive components of the material and reduce the degradation of active compounds in the material. The research method begins with preparing samples to be extracted with ethanol solvent, extract phytochemical screening tests, validation determination tests for the analysis method of ethanol extract levels of jeruju leaves, encapsulated formulations, encapsulated physics and chemical properties test and anti-inflammatory tests. In this research, the secondary metabolite compounds contained in the ethanol extract of Jeruju Leaves were flavonoids, phenolics, steroids, and saponins. The determination of the validation of the analysis method of ethanol extract levels of jeruju leaves was obtained by measurement using a UV-vis spectrophotometer and obtained extract levels of 1367,831 mg/g. This research used maltodextrin coating material for encapsulation formulation because it has low viscosity in many ratios, high solubility, has no taste. The freeze-dryer method was used in this study because it produces better drying quality than other drying methods. The physical property test was carried out by analysis using FTIR and SEM while the chemical properties of encapsulation obtained the highest yield proportion of 58.81%, and the highest solubility proportion of 98.76%. Anti-inflammatory testing is carried out using male mice as test animals. Anti-inflammatory testing in mice based on the Rat hind paw oedema method. The average percent inhibition of each dose administered is calculated based on the data results. The high average percent inhibition obtained for Diclofenac Na is 80%. In the research Encapsule 1:12, the 120 mg/KgBW dose had a significant percentage of inhibition of 75.55%, with Na Diclofenac dose of 10 mg/KgBW being 80%.

Abstract

The Shorea sumatrana (tengkawang) plant is endemic to Indonesia, especially in Kalimantan and Sumatera regions, which produces chemical diversity especially as a natural drugs. Specific aims to investigate both the profile analysis of fatty acid and antibacterial potential of tengkawang oil. The extract of tengkawang oil was carried out using the soxhlet extraction method. The profile analysis of fatty acid was verified by GC-MS and the antibacterial activity was evaluated using disc-diffusion method. The profile analysis of fatty acid of tengkawang oil indicated the presence of palmitic acid (17.26%), stearic acid (60.68%), oleic acid (11.98%), oleic acid chloride (1.80%), stearic acid chloride (1.86%), glycidyl stearate (1.92%), diethyl phthalate (4%), and 2-monopalmitin (0.5%). We determined the antibacterial activity by the diameter of inhibition of growth zone against Salmonella enteritidis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus cereus at a concentration of 12.5%, 25%, 50%. These were compared with standard tetracycline as positive control and DMSO was assigned negative control. It was found that the highest percentage of fatty acid in tengkawang oil is stearic acid, at 60.68%, and that tengkawang oil is an antibacterial agent with a concentration optimum at 25% with more susceptibility to Gram-positive than Gram-negative bacteria.
