Abstract

Facebook is widely used by Indonesian housewives for social, domestic, and economic purposes, yet little is known about whether the intensity of use is related to how they manage their time, and whether this differs between rural and urban settings. This cross-sectional comparative study examined Facebook use intensity, time management, and mental health among housewives in Riau Province, Indonesia. A total of 100 housewives aged 25–50 years (50 from Simaliyang Village, Kampar Regency, representing a rural setting, and 50 from Kampung Melayu, Pekanbaru City, representing an urban setting) were selected by simple random sampling within purposively chosen sites and completed Likert-type scales of Facebook use intensity, time management, and mental health. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, independent-samples t-tests, and simple linear regression. The rural and urban groups did not differ significantly in age, education, employment, or daily duration of Facebook use. Rural housewives reported higher Facebook use intensity than urban housewives (t(98) = 2.13, p = .036, d = 0.43), whereas time management did not differ between settings (t(98) = −0.37, p = .714). Facebook use intensity was not associated with time management (r = .02, 95% CI [−.18, .22]; F(1, 98) = 0.05, p = .831; R² = .000). Most respondents in both settings fell into the moderate categories of time management and mental health. The findings suggest that the amount of Facebook use alone is a poor indicator of housewives' time management. Future research should examine the purposes of use, self-regulation, and structural factors, and counseling-based digital literacy programs should focus on how, rather than how much, social media is used.

Abstract

sychological trauma is a public-health concern that cuts across emotional well-being and everyday decision-making. Both trauma and decision-making have been studied extensively, yet the mechanisms that connect adverse experiences to altered choice remain scattered across neuroscience, clinical psychology, and behavioral science. In this systematic literature review, we synthesize recent evidence on how trauma shapes human decision-making through cognitive, emotional, and behavioral pathways. The review follows PRISMA 2020. A structured Scopus search targeted English-language research articles published between 2022 and 2026. The search returned 886 records. After full-text assessment of 88 reports, 10 studies met the eligibility and quality criteria. Three convergent findings stand out. First, trauma disrupts value-based and reinforcement learning, which reduces behavioral flexibility and alters feedback sensitivity and belief updating. Second, greater threat appraisal, stronger stress reactivity, and impaired emotion regulation push decisions toward uncertainty avoidance and negative outcomes. Third, these shifts appear in risk-taking, substance-related choices, suicidality, and aggression. Overall, the evidence supports integrative models and trauma-informed, decision-focused clinical care.

Abstract

Stress, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) carry a heavy burden. Yet the usual way we assess them still leans on episodic, self-reported instruments, which don't always reflect real life. Now wearable biosensors, smartphones, and artificial intelligence (AI) are opening the door to digital biomarkers. In this systematic literature review, we looked at how AI takes physiological and behavioural signals from wearables and smartphones to detect, predict, and monitor stress and mental-health conditions. We followed PRISMA 2020. A Scopus search turned up 403 records. After 14 duplicates were removed, 389 records went into screening. From there, 88 full texts were assessed, and 15 studies published between 2018 and 2026 made the final cut. Each eligible study combined digital sensing with AI or machine learning and linked those signals to outcomes. Three main themes came out of the synthesis. Heart-rate variability remains the dominant biomarker. Multimodal signals, combining electrodermal, cardiac, and electroencephalographic data, tend to improve classification. And smartphone phenotyping pushes monitoring further into depression, social anxiety, and trauma. The reported performance is promising, but small samples, device heterogeneity, and limited interpretability still hold these models back. Future work needs to prioritise larger cohorts, standardised reporting, explainability, and proper clinical validation.

Abstract

Machine learning is now woven into mental health assessment, and the predictive models it produces are impressively accurate. Yet the black-box nature of those models keeps raising the same worries: transparency, clinician trust, and whether they can be adopted safely in practice. Explainable AI, or XAI, is often proposed as the answer, though the evidence on where it helps and how much is still scattered. We ran a systematic review following PRISMA 2020 to pull that evidence together. A structured search of Scopus turned up 403 records. After 18 duplicates were removed, 385 went into screening; 75 full texts were assessed, and 15 studies, all published between 2021 and 2025, made it into the final pool. Study design, mental health condition, modality, XAI technique, interpretability, trust, and clinical utility were all captured and synthesised thematically. Three things stood out. First, SHAP and other post-hoc feature-attribution techniques dominated the field, appearing across work on depression, suicide risk, stress, and anxiety alike. Second, explanation quality did shape trust and acceptance, but remarkably few studies actually involved human participants. Third, heterogeneity, small samples, geographic bias, and a lack of standardised metrics all limited how far the results could be compared or translated into practice. Where should the field go next? Priorities include clinician-in-the-loop evaluation, standardised reporting of explanation quality, and equitable external validation.
