Abstract

Kata kunci: Kepemimpinan; Organisasi Kemahasiswaan; Pelatihan Dasar; Soft Skills; HIMASTI.ABSTRACTLeadership is an essential capability that must be possessed by students as agents of change within student organizations. However, observations of the Student Association of Information Systems and Technology (HIMASTI) at Muhammadiyah University of Mataram indicate a low level of basic leadership understanding, limited self-confidence in leading, and ineffective communication among organization members. Therefore, a basic leadership training program was conducted to enhance students’ capacity to manage organizations more effectively. The training was carried out over two days using participatory methods, including interactive material delivery, group discussions, case studies, and role-playing simulations. The evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests, as well as final reflections at the end of the program. The results of the training demonstrate improvements in participants’ leadership knowledge, attitudes, and skills, including decision-making abilities, teamwork, and communication within an organizational context, as well as the generation of recommendations for improving organizational governance. Overall, this training program contributes to strengthening students’ leadership capacity and fostering a more productive organizational character. Further training is recommended to ensure the sustainability of leadership development. Keywords: Leadership; Student Organization; Basic Training; Soft Skills; HIMASTI.

Abstract

Abstract

Palu Bay, which is developed as a tourism area, is in the ring of fire with a history of repeated disasters. This tourism was able to increase tourist visits to the city of Palu. However, the 2018 earthquake and tsunami resulted in a decrease in tourist visits to the city of Palu. In addition to determining the interaction patterns of the Palu city population, this study tries to pinpoint the key factors the government used to transform Palu Bay into a popular tourist destination. This is accomplished by identifying the key factors that make Palu Bay a popular tourist destination and figuring out how to boost tourism there in the wake of the 2018 earthquake and tsunami disaster. Schutz analysis was employed with post-positivist paradigm and transcendental phenomenology approach. Triangulation was used to collect data, while content analysis was used to process it.Key factors used by the local government of Palu City in developing Palu Bay as a tourism area included: 1. The potential of Palu Bay's natural resources with its natural beauty and unique five-dimensional city (sea, bay, valley, mountain and river); 2. Strategic location on the coast of Palu city with easy access for tourists, 3. Market share of domestic and international tourists; 4. Of the nine existing sub-sectors, Palu Bay has the potential to become the mainstay sector of the city of Palu to support the regional economy because the agricultural, mining, fisheries, industrial, housing and financial sectors lack the potential to be the mainstay sector. The development of tourism in the Palu Bay area is carried out by prioritizing disaster emergency mitigation and response with proper governance and principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG). Collaborative Multidimensional reconstruction of the private sector, local communities and local governments (triple BCG) as well as patterns of disaster mitigation and emergency response to stimulate tourism in the Palu bay area affected by the 2018 earthquake and tsunami.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of the pedagogical Deep Learning (DL) approach, specifically the Meaningful, Mindful, and Joyful (MMJ) framework, within the traditional educational system of Indonesian pesantren. The aim is to analyze the compatibility, challenges, and operationalization of DL to enhance learning outcomes and prepare students for the demands of the digital era. A qualitative case study approach was employed at pesantren Darunnajah in Bogor, involving in-depth interviews with 12 participants (3 teachers, 6 students, and 3 administrators), observations, and document analysis. The findings highlight a strong theoretical alignment between DL and pesantren's core educational values, such as Fahm (deep comprehension), Ijtihad (critical reasoning), and Adab (moral development). Empirically, teachers reported improved student engagement and reflective learning practices, with one educator noting, "The MMJ framework helps students connect religious lessons to their daily lives, making learning more relevant." However, the study identifies key challenges, including infrastructure gaps, diverse levels of digital literacy, and the need to balance digital innovation with the preservation of moral guidance. Strategies such as blended learning models and focused teacher training are recommended. The integration of DL within pesantren represents a strategic pedagogical evolution, empowering students to develop both religious and modern competencies. Future research should focus on the longitudinal impacts of DL on student outcomes.
