Abstract

Ikat weaving is one of the Indonesian traditional textile arts commonly found in various parts of the country. Each region typically has its own motifs, designed manually and spontaneously without predesign stages. Therefore, developing a method to design weaving motifs is necessary to avoid spontaneous, monotonous products. This work attempted to explore the most efficient method in the ikat weaving design process, which would be helpful for Indonesian ikat weaving industries to deliver more diverse ikat weaving designs. To this end, we conducted a study in one of the ikat weaving workshops in Sukoharjo Regency, Indonesia. This participatory action research and development produced Adaptive ikat weaving templates that could be used to create various designs with different sizes. The template was designed entirely digitally using Firealpaca. The color application was also performed. The development of the digital ikat weaving design method is expected to encourage ikat weaving industries to present fresher, appealing motifs.Ikat weaving is one of the Indonesian traditional textile arts commonly found in various parts of the country. Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Legal Documentation and Information Network (JDIH) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) as a practical initiative to strengthen institutional legal governance within a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH). In the era of digital transformation and open government, the ability to manage and disseminate legal documents systematically is a vital component of good university governance. Using a qualitative-descriptive method with an empirical- administrative approach, this research observes how the UNS JDIH was developed, managed, and integrated within the university’s governance system. Data were obtained from document analysis, interviews with legal office staff, and direct observation during internal testing. Results show that UNS JDIH has reached Technology Readiness Level 5, indicating functional readiness for full implementation. The platform (jdih.uns.ac.id) consolidates all internal legal products such as Rector’s Regulations, Rector’s Decrees, and Circular Letters into a harmonized, web-based repository accessible to the public. JDIH UNS not only enhances transparency and accountability but also serves as an institutional mechanism for harmonizing legal policies in line with national regulations.

Abstract

This study explores the transformation of the form, function, and meaning of the Yogyakarta Panji mask style and its relevance to gender identity reconstruction. The research employs a qualitative single-case study strategy. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and content analysis of informants, settings, events, and archival documents. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and informant review, while analysis followed a flow model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the Panji mask has undergone transformations in three concrete dimensions. Visually, it has shifted from classical pakem conventions to contemporary designs influenced by wood-batik and tourism aesthetics. Functionally, it has changed from a sacred ritual object into a commodity within the creative economy and cultural tourism. Symbolically, its meaning has expanded from traditional Javanese moral-philosophical values to more contextual interpretations linked to social identity and cultural promotion. These shifts contribute to gender identity reconstruction by enabling more inclusive representations of masculinity and femininity. The evolving visual forms, broader social roles, including the increasing involvement of women in mask making and renewed interpretations of Panji and Sekartaji, demonstrate how traditional arts can promote more egalitarian gender narratives today.

Abstract

Quercetin, widely acknowledged as an exceptionally potent antioxidant, is known for its diverse array of bioactive properties that confer numerous health benefits. However, the specific effect of quercetin on atherosclerosis progression remains unclear and warrants further investigation. This experimental study used Wistar rats with a post-test-only control-group design. It aimed to analyze the effect of quercetin in inhibiting the progression of atherosclerosis. Twelve adult male rats were selected and used to construct an experimental model that mimics atherosclerotic plaque formation. The model was achieved by administering a high-fat diet with a caloric value of 414 kcal per 100 grams and performing an endothelial injury procedure during the second week of the study. After six weeks, the rats were divided into two groups of six: the control group continued on the high-fat diet, while the quercetin group maintained the same diet and received 10 mg/kg of quercetin via gavage. At the end of week eight, the progression of atherosclerotic plaques was evaluated by measuring the activity of M1 and M2 macrophages, as well as the carotid artery intima-media thickness and the degree of carotid arterial stenosis. Quercetin administration significantly increased the activity of M2 macrophages (p=0.002, mean difference 10.66, 95% CI 5.90 - 15.41); in contrast, no significant effect was found on the activity of M1 macrophages (p=0.562), carotid artery intima-media thickness (p=0.407), and the degree of carotid arterial stenosis (p=0.734). This study emphasizes quercetin's role in inhibiting atherosclerosis progression by enhancing the activity of M2 macrophages. Additional studies are necessary to explore various quercetin doses involving more atherosclerosis parameters.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a vital role in shaping students’ character, morality, and spirituality through the teaching of the Qur’an and Hadith as the core of Islamic values. One practical implementation at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Gemolong is the daily tadarus program conducted every morning before the start of classes. This study aims to examine the effect of the daily tadarus program on students’ learning achievement in the Qur’an and Hadith subject for seventh-grade students in the 2022/2023 academic year. The population of this study consists of all 215 students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Gemolong, divided into three grade levels (VII, VIII, and IX). The research sample includes 35 students from grade VII, where the daily tadarus program is implemented most intensively as part of the school’s morning spiritual habituation. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and students’ academic records, and analyzed with SPSS version 25 through validity, reliability, normality, heteroscedasticity, and simple linear regression tests. The findings reveal that the daily tadarus program has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning achievement, with a significance value of 0.002 (<0.05) and a determination coefficient of 0.251. This indicates that tadarus activities contribute 25.1% to the variation in students’ academic performance.

Abstract

Modern education today faces serious challenges in the form of a character crisis and moral degradation amid the wave of digitalization, while the exploration of classical thinkers’ ideas as a foundation for strengthening character education has not been optimally utilized. This study aims to explore in depth the concept of Islamic education thought according to Imam Ibnu Jama’ah (1241–1333 AD) and to analyze its relevance to twenty-first-century educational problems. The research method used is qualitative with a studi pustaka (library research) approach, focusing on the monumental work Tadzkirat al-Sāmi’ wa al-Mutakallim fī Adab al-‘Ālim wa al-Muta‘allim. The results show that Ibnu Jama’ah’s concept of education emphasizes the integration between transfer of knowledge and transfer of value, with several main elements, namely: (1) the teacher as a moral role model; (2) students who prioritize purification of the soul; (3) a curriculum that integrates spiritual values; and (4) learning methods that balance the power of memorization with intellectual creativity. The relevance of Ibnu Jama’ah’s thought to twenty-first-century education lies in the strengthening of character education, in which adab (ethics) is positioned as the main foundation before the mastery of knowledge, so that it is expected that a generation will emerge that is not only intellectually intelligent but also morally excellent.

Abstract

A total of 60,941 Village-Owned Enterprises (VoE) have been established in Indonesia as of 2023. However, most of them have not yet optimally supported Village Original Income (PADes), which raises questions about their effectiveness as instruments for rural development. This study aims to map the financial performance of VoE based on their contribution to PADes in the Eks Karesidenan Surakarta region using a spatial analysis approach based on Geographic Information System (GIS) with Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) and Buffer Zone Analysis. Secondary data from 1,411 villages across six regencies were analyzed in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results show that the majority of VoE have not made significant contributions to PADes, with 957 villages recording zero contribution. Klaten Regency stands out as a high-performance cluster, especially for VoE in the tourism sector. The buffer zone analysis identified 175 villages surrounding high-performing VoE with the potential to benefit from spillover effects. These findings emphasize the need for VoE development policies that are based on local potential and spatial approaches to ensure more equitable benefits. This study is expected to serve as a reference for formulating evidence-based rural development policies.
