Abstract

Islamic education plays a vital role in shaping students’ character, morality, and spirituality through the teaching of the Qur’an and Hadith as the core of Islamic values. One practical implementation at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Gemolong is the daily tadarus program conducted every morning before the start of classes. This study aims to examine the effect of the daily tadarus program on students’ learning achievement in the Qur’an and Hadith subject for seventh-grade students in the 2022/2023 academic year. The population of this study consists of all 215 students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Gemolong, divided into three grade levels (VII, VIII, and IX). The research sample includes 35 students from grade VII, where the daily tadarus program is implemented most intensively as part of the school’s morning spiritual habituation. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and students’ academic records, and analyzed with SPSS version 25 through validity, reliability, normality, heteroscedasticity, and simple linear regression tests. The findings reveal that the daily tadarus program has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning achievement, with a significance value of 0.002 (<0.05) and a determination coefficient of 0.251. This indicates that tadarus activities contribute 25.1% to the variation in students’ academic performance.

Abstract

Modern education today faces serious challenges in the form of a character crisis and moral degradation amid the wave of digitalization, while the exploration of classical thinkers’ ideas as a foundation for strengthening character education has not been optimally utilized. This study aims to explore in depth the concept of Islamic education thought according to Imam Ibnu Jama’ah (1241–1333 AD) and to analyze its relevance to twenty-first-century educational problems. The research method used is qualitative with a studi pustaka (library research) approach, focusing on the monumental work Tadzkirat al-Sāmi’ wa al-Mutakallim fī Adab al-‘Ālim wa al-Muta‘allim. The results show that Ibnu Jama’ah’s concept of education emphasizes the integration between transfer of knowledge and transfer of value, with several main elements, namely: (1) the teacher as a moral role model; (2) students who prioritize purification of the soul; (3) a curriculum that integrates spiritual values; and (4) learning methods that balance the power of memorization with intellectual creativity. The relevance of Ibnu Jama’ah’s thought to twenty-first-century education lies in the strengthening of character education, in which adab (ethics) is positioned as the main foundation before the mastery of knowledge, so that it is expected that a generation will emerge that is not only intellectually intelligent but also morally excellent.

Abstract

Sebanyak 60.941 Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUM Desa) telah didirikan di Indonesia hingga tahun 2023. Sebagian besar di antaranya belum optimal mendukung Pendapatan Asli Desa (PADes), yang memunculkan pertanyaan mengenai efektivitasnya sebagai instrumen pembangunan desa. Penelitian ini bertujuan memetakan kinerja keuangan BUM Desa berdasarkan kontribusi keuntungannya terhadap PADes di kawasan Eks Karesidenan Surakarta menggunakan analisis spasial berbasis Geographic Information System (GIS) dengan pendekatan Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) dan Buffer Zone Analysis. Data sekunder dari 1.411 desa di enam kabupaten dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan mayoritas BUM Desa belum berkontribusi signifikan ke PADes, dengan 957 desa mencatat kontribusi nol. Kabupaten Klaten menonjol sebagai klaster kinerja tinggi, terutama BUM Desa dengan sektor pariwisata. Analisis zona buffer mengidentifikasi 175 desa di sekitar BUM Desa berkinerja tinggi yang berpotensi mendapat efek limpahan (spillover effect). Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya kebijakan pengembangan BUM Desa berbasis potensi lokal dan pendekatan spasial agar manfaatnya lebih merata. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi rujukan pengambilan kebijakan pembangunan desa berbasis bukti (evidence-based policy).     A total of 60,941 Village-Owned Enterprises (VoE) have been established in Indonesia as of 2023. However, most of them have not yet optimally supported Village Original Income (PADes), which raises questions about their effectiveness as instruments for rural development. This study aims to map the financial performance of VoE based on their contribution to PADes in the Eks Karesidenan Surakarta region using a spatial analysis approach based on Geographic Information System (GIS) with Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) and Buffer Zone Analysis. Secondary data from 1,411 villages across six regencies were analyzed in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results show that the majority of VoE have not made significant contributions to PADes, with 957 villages recording zero contribution. Klaten Regency stands out as a high-performance cluster, especially for VoE in the tourism sector. The buffer zone analysis identified 175 villages surrounding high-performing VoE with the potential to benefit from spillover effects. These findings emphasize the need for VoE development policies that are based on local potential and spatial approaches to ensure more equitable benefits. This study is expected to serve as a reference for formulating evidence-based rural development policies.

Abstract

Background: Developing an atherosclerotic plaque model is crucial in atherosclerosis research, as creating such a model remains a significant challenge. Objective: This study evaluates the endothelial injury technique using intravenous catheters as an alternative method for developing atherosclerotic plaque models in Wistar rats. Methods: This true experimental study employs a post-test-only control group design. Twenty-two adult male Wistar rats were randomly allocated into three groups: a control group, a treatment group that underwent a 6-week intervention, and another treatment group that underwent an 8-week intervention. The control group was fed a standard diet of 320 kcal per 100 grams, while both treatment groups received a high-fat diet of 414 kcal per 100 grams. In the second week, endothelial injury was induced in the left common carotid artery of both treatment groups using a 26G intravenous catheter. The parameters assessed in the atherosclerotic plaque model included matrix metalloprotease-9 expression, M1 macrophage activity, M2 macrophage activity, maximal intima thickness, and the degree of arterial stenosis. Result: The endothelial injury technique using intravenous catheters significantly impacted matrix metalloprotease-9 expression (p<0.001) in both the 6-week and 8-week treatment groups compared to the control group. In contrast, the treatment's effects on maximal intima thickness (p=0.003) and the degree of arterial stenosis (p=0.002) were statistically significant only after 8 weeks of intervention compared to the control group. Conclusion: The endothelial injury techniques using intravenous catheters can be considered an alternative method for developing atherosclerotic plaque models in Wistar rats. Although this new technique has several limitations, it holds promise for further development in future studies.

Abstract

Fisheries in the Alas Strait, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara is one of important sea area for the activity of fishing, especially small scale fishermen. In addition, the Alas Strait have a good fishery for catching pelagic fish species of Fringe Scale Sardine (Sardinella fimbriata). The aim of this study was to asses the growth parameter and fecundity of Fringe Scale Sardine (S. fimbriata). The research was conducted on August to December 2016, at the Fish Landing Base Tanjung Luar, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Survey methods and stratification sampling method were used from commercial catch. The relation between weight and length of S. fimbriata males and females are the values of b range 2.62750-2.69449 and 2.63959-2.72040, respectively. The growth patterns of male and female fish showed negative allometric growth pattern. The growth parameters of male fish is  L∞ 177.50 mm; K 0.51month-1; t0-0.53month-1, while for female fish L∞ 185.00 mm; K 0.67month-1; t0 -0.41month-1. Fecundity ranges from 2801- 60 578 eggs and diameter size range of eggs 8-67 µm. Keywords: fish growth, fecundity, Sardinella fimbriata.

Abstract

This study examines Ibn Khaldun’s views on education, particularly the integration of knowledge and character formation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review, the study finds that Ibn Khaldun regarded education as a process of shaping the whole person, encompassing intellectual, spiritual, and moral dimensions. He emphasized the importance of gradual learning (tadarruj), the cultivation of habitual values (malakah), teacher role modeling, and the rejection of coercive teaching methods. According to him, education should be adapted to the developmental stages of learners, integrating ʿaqliyyah (rational sciences) and naqliyyah (religious sciences) in a balanced manner. This concept is relevant to contemporary educational needs that prioritize holistic approaches and character building. The findings indicate that Ibn Khaldun’s educational thought holds great potential for shaping a more meaningful modern Islamic education system.

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of tauhid education according to Ustadz Abdullah Said, founder of Pondok Pesantren Hidayatullah, who regarded tauhid as the primary foundation for building a strong Muslim aqidah, morality, and character. Abdullah Said developed the Sistematika Nuzulnya Wahyu (SNW) method, based on the sequence of the first five revelations received by Prophet Muhammad SAW (QS Al-‘Alaq 1–5, Al-Qalam 1–7, Al-Muzzammil 1–10, Al-Muddatsir 1–7, and Al-Fatihah 1–7). Each surah contains fundamental principles for forming an Islamic personality, namely awareness of Allah, a Qur’anic life vision, spiritual strengthening, readiness for dakwah, and a complete orientation toward worship. This holistic approach integrates tilawah, tazkiyah, and ta’limah, aiming to produce dakwah cadres who have faith, Qur’anic morals, active worship, and commitment to the jamaah. The concept is applied in the pesantren environment by combining dimensions of worship, social engagement, and economic activities, thus shaping agents of change ready to contribute to society.

Abstract

Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Musa al-Khawarizmi stands as one of the most influential scholars in the history of Islamic and global civilization, recognized as a pioneer of algebra and a key figure in introducing the Hindu–Arabic numeral system and the concept of the algorithm—foundational to modern information technology. This study provides a descriptive analysis of al-Khawarizmi’s intellectual journey, from his early social and educational background in Khwarizm to his contributions at the Bayt al-Hikmah in Baghdad during the Abbasid Caliphate. At this institution, he not only translated scientific works from various civilizations but also developed original theories in mathematics, astronomy, and geography that had practical societal applications. The findings reveal that al-Khawarizmi exemplified the integration of scientific knowledge, Islamic spiritual values, and a strong scholarly ethic. His systematic, rational, and functional works laid critical foundations for the advancement of science in the West and symbolized the intellectual brilliance of classical Islamic civilization. These insights affirm the strategic role of the Islamic scholarly tradition in shaping the trajectory of global scientific development grounded in universal and humanistic values.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of this research is to determine the judicial review problems by Supreme Court and Constitutional court. Using empirical and normative approach, data collected by literature studies, interviews, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and observation. Data were analyzed by using the hermeneutics (interpretation) and deductive method.This research reveals that the legal framework of judicial review by Supreme Court and Constitutional Court are the Article 24 A paragraph (1) and Article 24 paragraph C (1) Indonesia basic law 1945. Constitutional court follow up the legal framework by issued PMK No. 06/PMK/2005 on guidelines of the judicial review procedure, while supreme court follow up the legal framework by issued supreme court regulation No 1/2011 There are two problems on judicial review by supreme court and constitutional coourt. First, conceptually, the implementation of judicial review by supreme court and constitutional court will make hard the control of norms herarchy in the manner of constitution enforcement. Second, operationally, the implementation of a judicial review by Supreme Court and the constitutional Court will create a conflict between state body due to the disparities on the verdict and regulation interpre- tation they have dealt with.Keywords: Judicial Review, Supreme Court, Constitutional courtABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui problematika pengujian peraturan perundang-undangan oleh Mahkamah Agung dan Mahkamah Konstitusi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan normatif sekaligus empiris. Pengumpulan data melalui Studi kepustakaan, Wawancara, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan Observasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode hermeneutik (interpretasi) di samping deduktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Pengaturan judicial review oleh Mahkamah Agung dan Mahkamah Konstitusi diatur dalam ketentuan Pasal 24 A ayat (1) dan Pasal 24 C ayat (1) UUD NRI 1945. Pelaksanaannya oleh MK ditindak lanjuti melalui PMK No 06/PMK/2005 tentang Pedoman Beracara dalam Perkara Pengujian Undang-Undang sedangkan oleh MA ditindaklanjuti melalui Peraturan Mahkamah Agung No. 1 Tahun 2011. Problematika judicial review melalui Mahkamah Agung dan Mahkamah Konstitusi, Pertama, secara konseptual pelaksanaan pengujian peraturan perundang-undangan ditangan MA dan MK akan menyulitkan integrasi pengawalan hirarki norma mulai dari perda sampai UUD dalam rangka penegakkan konstitusi. Kedua, secara operasional pelaksanaan judicial review antara MA dan MK akan menimbulkan konflik antar lembaga diakibatkan dari perbedaan putusan atau penafsiran peraturan perundang-undangan yang ditangani.Kata kunci: Pengujian peraturan perundangan, Mhkamah Agung, Mahkamah Konstitusi

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to arrange the model of People’s Consultative Assembly’s role strengthening formulation in the impeachment process of President/Vice-president in the Indonesian State Structure System. The model is based on the findings of a comprehensive comparative-study with an evaluative prescriptive approach. The research used an empirical research method with a qualitative approach. The research was conducted for one year. Its data consisted of primary and secondary ones. The data of the research were gathered through in-depth interview, questionnaire, focus discussion group, and library research. The results of the research show that the mechanisms of the impeachment of President/Vice-president in the history of Indonesia’s formerly prevailing Constitutions have differences. The model of Peoples’ Consultative Assembly’s role strengthening formulation in the impeachment process of President/Vice-president is manifested in the reformulation of the impeachment substances by improving the conceptualization of Peoples’ Consultative Assembly as an administrative confirmation institution. In addition, in term of impeachment procedure, the minimum quorum limit should be changed so that to conduct an impeachment of President/Vice-president is not more difficult than to conduct an amendment of the 1945 Constitution. People’s Consultative Assembly’s should implement the rule of law (constitution) rather than political supremacy as happened during this, so that the concept can be applied to State law. As a suggestion the People’s Consultative Assembly’s should make substantive and procedural reformulation of impeachment of President/Vice-president in the state system of Indonesia.
