Abstract

Character education is an essential aspect of primary education, particularly for lower-grade students who are in the early stage of developing attitudes and behaviors. From the perspective of Islamic education, the values contained in Asmaul Husna have significant potential as a foundation for shaping students’ religious and social character. The internalization of these values cannot rely solely on theoretical instruction but must be implemented through consistent habituation and teachers’ role modeling. This study aims to describe the implementation of Asmaul Husna values through habituation in shaping the character of second-grade students, analyze the role of teachers’ role modeling in internalizing Asmaul Husna values, and examine the impact of implementing Asmaul Husna values through habituation and role modeling on the character formation of second-grade students at SD Unggulan Cahaya Cendekia Glagah, Pakuniran District. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of the principal, the second-grade teacher, and second-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The results indicate that the implementation of Asmaul Husna values through habituation has been carried out in a planned, systematic, and sustainable manner through routine activities such as reciting Asmaul Husna before lessons and integrating their meanings into learning activities. Teachers’ role modeling plays a crucial role in internalizing Asmaul Husna values through consistent attitudes, speech, and behavior. The implementation of habituation and role modeling has a positive impact on students’ character formation, as reflected in improvements in religious attitudes, social awareness, discipline, honesty, and responsibility among second-grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Amtsilati method in teaching classical Islamic texts to students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Islamiyah Zainul Hasan Genggong and to analyze its effectiveness in improving students’ ability to understand Arabic classical texts, particularly in grammatical and morphological aspects which are fundamental for comprehending traditional Islamic literature. The significance of this study lies in the need to develop effective teaching methods that facilitate the learning of classical texts, as students often encounter difficulties in understanding them due to the complexity of their linguistic structures and limited mastery of Arabic grammar. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation analysis related to the implementation of the method. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Amtsilati method significantly contributed to improving students’ comprehension of classical texts and enhancing their ability to analyze linguistic structures and identify grammatical and morphological rules practically. The results also indicated that this method increased students’ motivation to study classical texts because of its gradual presentation of materials and intensive practical exercises that strengthen understanding. The study concludes that the Amtsilati method is an effective instructional approach for teaching classical Islamic texts due to its systematic framework that integrates theoretical and practical aspects. This method plays an important role in facilitating Arabic language learning and improving students’ understanding of classical texts at the junior secondary Islamic school level. Abstract

This study explores learning strategies employed in Al-Qur'an-Hadith education within Islamic Religious Education (PAI) programs in schools. The research aims to identify instructional approaches used by teachers, examine their implementation in classroom settings, and analyze their contribution to students’ understanding of Qur’anic and Hadith teachings. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of relevant educational documents. The findings reveal that teachers utilize a combination of lecture, discussion, memorization, contextual learning, collaborative learning, and technology-assisted strategies to facilitate students’ comprehension of religious texts. The integration of active learning methods encourages student participation, critical thinking, and the practical application of Islamic values in daily life. Furthermore, the effectiveness of learning strategies is influenced by teacher competence, learning resources, school support, and students’ learning motivation. The study concludes that diverse and student-centered learning strategies enhance the quality of Al-Qur'an-Hadith instruction by promoting both cognitive understanding and character development. These findings contribute to the development of more effective pedagogical practices in Islamic Religious Education and provide recommendations for improving the teaching and learning of Al-Qur'an-Hadith in contemporary school settings.

Abstract

The learning of the Safīnatun Najāh text represents an integration of pesantren-based education within the elementary curriculum of MI Kholafiyah Syafi'iyah Zainul Hasan Genggong. This study aims to describe the implementation of teaching this text in the fifth grade and to identify its impact on student learning outcomes. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the teaching of Safīnatun Najāh is conducted through several stages, namely qirā'ah (textual reading), tarjamah (vocabulary meaning comprehension), and syarḥ al-ma'nā (interpretation and content elaboration). The methods used include lecture, question and answer, discussion, memorization, and practical application. The learning process is not merely theoretical but emphasizes habituation in students' daily religious practices. Its impact can be seen in students' improved understanding of basic jurisprudence, particularly in the chapters on purification, prayer procedures, and Islamic etiquette. Supporting factors include the school's religious environment and teachers' competence in classical Islamic texts. The main challenge is the varying ability of students to read Arab gundul (unvocalized Arabic script), which is addressed through intensive guidance and repeated practice. Overall, this instructional approach effectively fosters religious understanding and character formation among students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe in depth the implementation of the routine of reading Surat Yasin and strengthening the spiritual values of students at SD Negeri 1 Selobanteng. This activity is seen as an important part of character education based on Islamic Religious Education which is carried out regularly every Friday morning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. Data was collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, principals, and students in grades I–VI, as well as documentation in the form of photos of activities, school records, and other supporting data. Data analysis is carried out through the process of reduction, data presentation, and inductive conclusion drawn. The results of the study showed that the reading of Surat Yasin was carried out in a structured manner and received full support from the school. This activity not only accustomed students to reading the Qur'an, but also instilled spiritual values such as sincerity, discipline, togetherness, and appreciation for religious values. The process of internalizing values can be seen through changes in students' attitudes and behaviors on a daily basis, especially in the aspects of discipline and respect for teachers. However, there are several obstacles such as time constraints, variations in students' reading abilities, and lack of involvement of a small number of students. Overall, this activity has proven to be effective in supporting the formation of students' religious character through regular habituation and continuous guidance.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Juz 'Amma extracurricular program as an effort to foster religious character and strengthen the values of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at Zainul Hasan I Genggong Elementary School. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants include the principal, five Juz 'Amma instructors, and 20 fifth-grade students. The findings show that the Juz 'Amma program is carried out twice a week through the stages of tahsin, tahfidz, muroja'ah, and understanding the meanings of Qur'anic verses. Learning is conducted individually and in groups, accompanied by habituation of Islamic behavior. The program has been proven to improve students' reading and memorization of the Qur'an while instilling religious values such as discipline, responsibility, patience, and love for the Qur'an. Positive changes are evident in worship discipline, politeness, social awareness, and the ability of some students to lead prayer dhuha. These findings reinforce Thomas Lickona's character education theory and Al-Ghazali's concept of riyadhah al-nafs, and demonstrate that the Juz 'Amma program is effective as a Qur'an-based character education model in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study investigates the interplay of stylistic patterns, code-switching, and metaphorical pragmatics in shaping cultural identity in contemporary Indonesian poetry, adopting a qualitative empirical approach through the analysis of twenty poems published between 2020 and 2025. Utilizing purposive sampling, the corpus encompasses works from both emerging and established poets, reflecting diverse regional, social, and generational perspectives. Data collection combined textual compilation with contextual metadata, while analysis employed a coding schema integrating stylistic, morphological, and pragmatic features, validated through expert review and inter-coder reliability. Findings reveal that code-switching and code-mixing are strategically deployed to negotiate hybrid identities, signaling local heritage, cosmopolitan sensibilities, and generational positioning, whereas metaphorical devices serve pragmatic functions that embed ethical, social, and historical meanings. Morphological innovations and phonostylistic features enhance semantic density and aesthetic impact, highlighting the deliberate orchestration of linguistic resources. The study demonstrates that contemporary Indonesian poetry functions as a semiotically rich site for cultural expression, providing theoretical and methodological insights into the analysis of hybrid linguistic strategies and the dynamic construction of cultural identity in literary texts.

Abstract

Islamic education is increasingly challenged to remain relevant amid rapid social, technological, and cultural transformations. This article examines Islamic education reform through the integration of traditional Islamic scholarship and modern pedagogical approaches, highlighting its implications for curriculum development, teaching practices, and socio-cultural outcomes. Using a qualitative normative approach based on contemporary literature, this study analyzes how integrative reform models enable Islamic educational institutions to respond to globalization while maintaining their epistemological and ethical foundations. The findings indicate that integrating tradition and modern pedagogy enhances graduate adaptability, ethical competence, and social engagement without undermining religious identity. Furthermore, the reform supports institutional sustainability by aligning educational goals with societal expectations and global educational standards. This study argues that integrated Islamic education reform is not merely a pedagogical adjustment but a comprehensive transformation that redefines the role of Islamic education in modern Muslim societies. The article contributes to the broader discourse on educational reform by positioning Islamic education as a dynamic system capable of balancing continuity and change
