Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of tauhid learning using the Aqidatul Awam book in Grade 3 at SD Cahaya Cendekia Glagah, focusing on lesson planning, learning implementation, and the teaching methods and strategies employed by teachers. A qualitative research approach with a descriptive design was applied to obtain an in-depth understanding of the learning process in its natural context. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers, students, and school administrators, as well as documentation analysis. The data were analyzed using an interactive model involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that tauhid learning was planned systematically and adapted to students’ cognitive and developmental characteristics. The learning implementation was conducted gradually, repetitively, and contextually through the recitation and explanation of nazham, supported by simple examples related to students’ daily lives. The teaching methods and strategies, including simple lectures, memorization, question-and-answer sessions, and habituation, effectively supported both cognitive understanding and the development of religious attitudes. This study concludes that the integration of classical Islamic texts with student-centered instructional approaches can effectively strengthen foundational tauhid understanding at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The digital transformation driven by the Industrial Revolution 5.0 has profoundly influenced educational practices, including Islamic Religious Education (IRE). This shift demands that Islamic education not only integrate digital technologies in an adaptive manner but also ensure that their application remains consistent with Islamic humanistic and spiritual principles. This article seeks to theoretically explore the digitalization of IRE learning in the context of the Industrial Revolution 5.0 by examining various forms of digital-based instructional innovation as well as the ethical and value-based challenges associated with their implementation. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive design through library research, analyzing 11 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2020 and 2025 that address the digital transformation of Islamic education. Content analysis is employed to extract key concepts, empirical findings, and relevant theoretical perspectives related to digital IRE learning. The results demonstrate that the use of digital technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital Qur’an applications, and artificial intelligence based learning tools has a positive impact on student engagement, learning flexibility, and access to diverse Islamic knowledge resources. Nevertheless, the digitalization of IRE learning also encounters several challenges, including insufficient digital literacy among educators, the risk of moral erosion within digital environments, and disparities in educational infrastructure. Consequently, the development of digital-based IRE learning should be firmly anchored in the principles of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, ensuring that technological advancement serves not only functional efficiency but also moral formation, spiritual strengthening, and the promotion of public welfare. These findings provide a conceptual framework for the digitalization of Islamic Religious Education that is human-centered and grounded in Islamic values.

Abstract

Purpose This study aims to develop an Arabic Language Community Program to enhance the Arabic language environment among female students. The program was developed in response to the need for a supportive language environment that enables students to use Arabic actively and consistently in their daily communication. Design/Methodology/Approach This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method to develop an Arabic Language Community Program. The research involved 20 female students, Arabic language teachers, and dormitory supervisors at Nuriddahlani Islamic Boarding School for Girls. The participants were selected using purposive sampling, with one student representing each group participating in the interview to identify learners' needs. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis and were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. Based on the needs analysis, the program was developed through the design of structured language activities, including daily vocabulary habituation, daily Arabic conversations, group discussions, public speaking (khiṭābah), language competitions, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. Findings The findings revealed that students need a structured language program that supports continuous Arabic language practice. The main needs identified include improving speaking skills, expanding opportunities to use Arabic in daily life, providing interactive language activities, and establishing a systematic monitoring and evaluation process. Based on these findings, an Arabic Language Community Program was developed to create a sustainable Arabic language environment that encourages students to use Arabic more confidently and consistently. Research Limitations/Implications This study focused on developing an Arabic Language Community Program based on a needs analysis and did not evaluate its effectiveness through field implementation. The findings suggest that the proposed program can serve as a practical model for strengthening the Arabic language environment and enhancing students’ communicative competence in Islamic educational institutions. Future research should implement the program and evaluate its effectiveness in improving students’ Arabic language proficiency.
