Abstract

The Sundanese people of West Java, Indonesia, are well known for consuming raw plants, which are part of their food culture and are called lalapan. West Java consists of several traditional villages, one of which is Banceuy Traditional Village, located in Subang Regency. Usually, discourse about food is inseparable from culture since every place has unique dishes and cultures. This study aims to conduct a quantitative analysis of the inventory of food plant data using quantitative ethnobotanical indices. The research method used semi-structured interviews with 32 informants that consisted of two key informants and field-guided observation accompanied by one of the key informants around the village to identify and collect the food plant specimens. A quantitative data analysis was carried out using ethnobotany indices, namely, the Index of Cultural Significance (ICS), Use Values Index (UV), and Relative Frequency Citation (RFC). Banceuy indigenous people utilized 160 local food plant species belonging to 55 families. Fabaceae, Cucurbitaceae, Solanaceae, and Zingiberaceae were the dominant food plant families. These plant species were utilized as sources of carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, spices, seeds, and beverages. The most applied food consumption manner by Banceuy indigenous people consisted of fresh food consumed, sauté, and boiling. Arenga pinnata had the highest ICS value (116) due to its utilization as seasoning and involvement in traditional rituals. Manihot esculenta and Carica papaya had the highest value in UV (1.81 & 1.69) and RFC (0.97) as they were used for daily consumption.

Abstract

This research aimed to study the efficacy of the fungus Purpureocillium lilacinum as a bionematicide to control root-knot nematodes (RKN). Two steps of experiments were carried out in this study. The first experiment involved the application of various levels of bionematicide doses to control RKN on tomato plants. The second experiment tested the application of bionematicide (both as a single application and in combination with bromelain compost) to control RKN on guava cv. Kristal. A carbofuran nematicide was applied following the company’s recommendation in this second experiment for comparison. The results of the first trial showed that the application of P. lilacinum bionematicide at doses ranging from 20–40 g per plant or 7–13 g per kg of soil was effective in reducing the J-2 RKN population in the soil and roots, as well as mitigating damage to plant roots. In the second experiment, it was shown that the application of P. lilacinum bionematicide, either alone or mixed with bromelain compost, was more effective than the application of carbofuran nematicide in reducing the J-2 RKN population in the soil and roots, as well as in minimizing root damage to guava seedlings. Additionally, the application of bionematicides mixed with compost proved more effective than their single application in reducing plant root damage. Furthermore, apart from being able to control nematode populations and plant damage, P. lilacinum bionematicide could stimulate plant growth.

Abstract

Abstract

Prenatal stimulation is an adult's conscious effort to develop all of each person's potential to develop optimally, in sync with the development of each child. Ideally both parent and mother can implement child stimulation within the womb. However, parents have been found to have a roadblock to application of prenatal stimulation, a lack of family social support. Benefits derived, along with parents knowing information related to stimulating children in prenatal times, parents may also become cadres that can eventually cross one another. A common goal in this study is to analyze the behavior of core family members in stimulating the development of children made by both father and mother. The study used a quantitative descriptive method using the survey method using a targeted sample of 150 domestic heads (KK). Research indicates that most parents have prenatal child stimulation behaviors, especially with 100% or total parental physical stimulation. Much of the behavior that has been done is religious and immoral by 97%, mothers' health stimulation by 80%, 61% cognitive stimulation, and a small percentage go through art of 41%. The medical condition of an expectant mother is affected by the emotional social condition of 59% of cravings and stress.
