Abstract

One factor that can interfere with the absorption rate of viewers on television advertisement is advertising avoidance which shows the difference between the number of viewers who watch advertisement programs and the number of viewers who watch television programs. The factors that affect advertising avoidance include the demography of the viewers (gender, age, area of residence, and social economic status, or SES), advertising attributes (the television stations, order of ads, genre of the program, and advertising sector), and competition (DayPart). The study attempted to measure the level of advertising avoidance in Indonesia and its relation to various factors that influence it by using the secondary data generated by Nielsen Audience Measurement Indonesia through Television Audience Measurement (TAM). The methods utilized consisted of the t-test independent sample, one way ANOVA, Tukey, Kruskal Wallis, and Dunn Bonferoni. The result showed that the level of advertising avoidance in Indonesia reached by 23%, with relatively similar results to the other studies in various countries. The hypothesis test results also showed a significant relationship between the advertising avoidance and demographic variables, advertising attributes, and competitions affecting this avoidance. On one hand, the findings of the study are expected to be useful for the advertisers to plan their advertisements on television so that they become more effective and efficient. On the other hand, television stations can utilize these findings as a development strategy to expand their audience segmentation and to accommodate the needs of the advertisers more optimally. Keywords: advertising avoidance, television advertisement, TAM, ANOVA, Tukey

Abstract

Green Nitrogen is one of the nitrogen service brands in Indonesia available at some Pertamina Gas Stations. The purposes of this research were to examine the effect of consumer knowledge, product quality, and consumer trust on customer loyalty, and to formulate strategies to increase consumer loyalty. This research used Structural Equation Model (SEM) analytical tool. The result indicated that factors affecting Green Nitrogen consumer loyalty were sequentially starting from the highest R-Square value with the most significant effect was consumer trust with a weight of 0.371; then, the product quality with a weight of 0.136, and consumer knowledge with a weight of 0.093. The results of t values indicated that consumer knowledge and product quality have no significant effect on consumer loyalty. The process of consumer loyalty is affected by how much trust the consumers have on Green Nitrogen’s reputation and responsibilities in dealing with claims proposed by consumers compared with the elements of product quality and consumer knowledge. Therefore, Green Nitrogen needs to create a platform to accommodate complaints, claims, and suggestions from its consumers so that the consumers feel satisfied with the services provided. Keywords: custoumer knowledge, product quality, customer trust, customer loyalty, Structural Equation Modeling (sem)Abstrak: Green Nitrogen merupakan salah satu merek penyedia jasa pengisian angin nitrogen yang terdapat di beberapa Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar (SPBU) Pertamina di Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aimed to study bamboo biomass renewable energy development cultivated in community forests in Indonesia, especially in those frontiers, outermost, and least developed regions often referred to as 3T regions. Community empowerment refers to the process of enabling communities to increase control over their lives. The study was conducted in three villages of Matotonan, Madobag, and Saliguma in Siberut Island, Mentawai Islands District, West Sumatra Province. This study's design was descriptive by conducting a field survey, using a systematic random sampling method with the interview and questionnaire technique to obtain primary data on electricity demand and demographic factors. The key success indicators were then generated using the Strategic Assumption Surfacing and Testing (SAST) method to analyze the FGD. The biomass energy development without community empowerment and the presence of PLN at subsidized rates would not succeed. The renewable energy of bamboo forest biomass characterizes the need for community participation to be involved in operations. Without community empowerment, the community would not have the ability to pay electricity bills even if subsidized. No income distribution would also result in not achieving the main objectives of this project's development, which is sustainable development for rural communities in the 3T regions. Abstract

Celebrity endorsement on social media has become a trendy way to advertise today. Examining the effectiveness of celebrity endorsers using the familiarity variable is deemed necessary, considering the risks that arise from selecting inappropriate celebrities. It is also important to explore whether different categories lead to different responses. The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of differences in endorser familiarity and product categories on compatibility with products, attitudes towards advertisements and brands and purchase intentions of Y generation consumers in cosmetic advertisements. This research is a 2x2 factorial experimental study using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). There were 2 stages of the research, the first stage was the pre-test with 30 research participants to select celebrities and the second stage was the main test with 156 participants who were divided into 4 experimental groups. The results of the study stated that differences in celebrity familiarity had no effect on compatibility with products and attitudes towards brands, but had an effect on attitudes towards advertisements and purchase intentions. Differences in product categories and interactions between familiarity and categories show insignificant results. Celebrity endorsers with high or low familiarity currently both have the same potential and each endorser has its own market. Companies should increase consumer product involvement by repeating information. Keywords: attitude towards advertising and brand, endorser familiarity, experimental study, purchase intention, product categories

Abstract

Background: Air pollution and climate change are critical global challenges that drive the transition toward sustainable transportation solutions, including electric vehicles (EVs). In Indonesia, EV adoption remains relatively low, making it essential to investigate the key factors influencing consumer intentions. This study focuses on the millennial generation, as they represent a significant share of the productive population, are generally more open to technological innovation, and are expected to become the primary consumers in the future EV market.Purpose: This study aims to analyze the factors influencing EV adoption in Indonesia by applying a modified Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) model, with millennials as the key demographic segment.Design/methodology/approach: An online survey was conducted with 230 respondents, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) through SmartPLS 3.0 software. The study examined nine variables: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, habit, perceived behavioral control, and attitude toward behavior.Findings/Results: The results indicate that habit and hedonic motivation significantly influence consumers’ behavioral intention to adopt EVs. Conversely, performance expectancy and social influence were not found to mediate the relationship between exogenous variables and use behavior. Conclusion: The findings suggest that manufacturers should prioritize creating personalized consumer experiences and enhancing the social status associated with EV ownership. Furthermore, policymakers should strengthen incentives and accelerate infrastructure development to support EV adoption in Indonesia. Marketing strategies also need to integrate consumer habits and emotional drivers to speed up the adoption process.Originality/value (State of the art): This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on EV adoption in developing countries by applying a modified UTAUT2 model with a focus on millennials. The results provide valuable insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders in designing targeted interventions to promote EV adoption. Abstract

Background: Higher education institutions (HEIs) are increasingly expected to maintain meaningful long-term relationships with alumni. Customer Relationship Management (CRM), particularly when integrated with social media, has emerged as a key strategy for fostering alumni engagement, satisfaction, and contribution.Purpose: This study aims to identify the best-fit structural model that explains alumni contributions through CRM and social media interaction, while also investigating the role of social media as a moderator, mediator, or intervening variable in these relationships.Design/methodology/approach: The study employed Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to simulate twelve alternative models using data from 271 alumni of IPB University. These models varied in CRM structure, the inclusion of satisfaction, and the positioning of social media within the pathway.Findings/Result: Twelve structural CRM models were simulated to examine the effect of CRM and social media on alumni outcomes. Among them, Model 12 demonstrated the best fit, with strong explanatory power (R²), predictive relevance (Q²), and low prediction error (RMSE/MAE). The model reveals a sequential pathway: CRM → Customer Satisfaction → Customer Engagement → Customer Loyalty → Alumni Contributions. CRM also influences Social Media, which in turn enhances Satisfaction. All structural paths are statistically significant, indicating that both CRM and social media play a critical role in driving alumni contributions through a satisfaction-based relational process. Conclusion: CRM in higher education is most effective when treated as a socially constructed process mediated by digital interaction. Social media strengthens institutional trust and emotional connection, playing a critical role in converting alumni satisfaction into sustained loyalty and contribution. Universities should implement social CRM strategies by leveraging digital platforms, personalizing alumni communication, and supporting long-term engagement programs.Originality/value: This study contributes to CRM theory by applying social construction theory to alumni engagement and offering an empirically validated model of how social media enhances relational CRM in HEIs. The findings have practical implications for alumni management strategies in the digital era. Keywords: CRM, social media, alumni engagement, higher education, social construction theory
