Abstract

This  research  aims  was  to develop  a competency-based  assessment  instruments  in subject  of  Science/Biology.  This research was carried out through the development of the following 4-D design models of Thiagarajan (1974) and then continued the implementation the classroom using One Shot Case Study Design. The data were obtained as follows: the results of the validation instruments decent role in the category; legibility of instruments indicates that the content, appearance, difficulty sentences and interesting pictures and easy to understand students; enforceability of good category; effectiveness of the instrument showed that cognitive assessment to have a reliability tes objective 0.39, the level of difficulty of items were easily as many as 11 items (36.7%), medium as many as 16 items (53.3%), and difficult as many as 3 items (10%), sensitive items as many as 27 items (90%) and less sensitive as many as 3 items (10%), while the essay test has a reliability of 0.45, an easy difficulty level items as many as 2 items (20%), medium as many as 4 items (40%), and difficult as many as 4 items (40%), sensitive items as many as 6 items (60%) and less sensitive as many as 4 items (40%); assessment of the affective domain has a reliability 0.81; assessment of psychomotor domains I has a reliability  of 0.52 and psychomotor  II has a reliability  of 0.62.  Student  field  constraints  are not  accustomed  to using competency-based assessment instrument. Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that a Competency-Based Assessment Instruments in subject of Science/Biology that have been developed are valid, practical, and effective.Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengembangkan  instrumen  asesmen  komprehensif  berbasis  kompetensi  pada  mata pelajaran IPA/Biologi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan melalui pengembangan instrumen mengikuti rancangan 4-D model dari Thiagarajan  (1974)  kemudian  dilanjutkan  implementasi  di  kelas  menggunakan  rancangan  One  Shot  Case  Study.  Data  hasil penelitian yang diperoleh sebagai berikut: hasil validasi instrumen dalam kategori layak; keterbacaan instrumen  menunjukkan bahwa isi, penampilan, kesulitan kalimat dan gambar menarik dan mudah dipahami siswa; keterlaksanaan instrumen berkategori sangat baik; keefektifan instrumen menunjukkan bahwa asesmen ranah kognitif untuk tes objektif memiliki reliabilitas 0,39, tingkat kesukaran butir soal mudah sebanyak 11 butir soal (36,7%), sedang sebanyak 16 butir soal (53,3%), dan sukar sebanyak 3 butir soal (10%), butir soal sensitif sebanyak 27 butir soal (90%) dan kurang sensitif sebanyak 3 butir soal (10%), sedangkan tes uraian memiliki reliabilitas 0,45, tingkat kesukaran butir soal mudah sebanyak 2 butir soal (20%), sedang sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%), dan sukar sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%), butir soal sensitif sebanyak 6 butir soal (60%) dan kurang sensitif sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%); asesmen ranah afektif memiliki reliabilitas 0,81; asesmen ranah psikomotor I memiliki reliabilitas 0,52 dan psikomotor II memiliki reliabilitas  0,62.  Kendala  lapangan  adalah  siswa  belum  terbiasa  menggunakan  instrumen  asesmen  komprehensif  berbasis kompetensi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen asesmen komprehensif berbasis kompetensi pada mata pelajaran IPA/Biologi yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Research has been done to develop the kind of integrated science teaching type webbed (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, Student Work Sheet, Student Book, Student Achievement Test) with guided inquiry model that aims to teach self directed learning and life skills junior high school students. Learning materials developed by four D model there are define, design, develop, and disseminate. Learning materials were validated by the experts to determine the validity of the materials and tested on 35 students of grade VII junior high school odd semester academic year 2015/2016 using the One Group Pre-test and Post Test Design. The data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative-qualitative. The results are: 1) The validity of the materials is very valid category (score 3.63); 2) Readability worksheet shows 100% the content interesting and easy to understand, 82.86% Student Work Sheet attractive appearance and legibility Student Book legible and suitable for use in junior high school students with an average number of sample sentences readings taken by researchers is 5.93 sentence in 100 words with the average number of syllables 145.2; 3) the successful is very good (average score of 3.71); 4) The students responded very positively (97.14%); 5) Student’s activities are student centered type; 6) increased student learning achievement (N-gain 0.74); 7) The self directed learning and improve students' life skills. The conclusions of this research are integrated science teaching materials types based guided inquiry type webbed developed is feasible to use in teaching self directed learning and ability of life skills junior high school students. Telah dilakukan penelitian pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe webbed (Silabus, RPP, LKS, Buku Siswa, Tes Hasil Belajar) dengan model inkuiri terbimbing yang bertujuan untuk melatih kemandirian belajar dan kecakapan hidup siswa SMP. Perangkat pembelajaran dikembangkan menggunakan model 4D (four D model) terdiri dari tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop) dan penyebaran (disseminate). Perangkat pembelajaran divalidasi oleh para pakar untuk mengetahui validitas perangkat dan diujicoba pada 35 siswa kelas VII SMP semester gasal tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dengan rancangan One-Group Pre test and Post test Design. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif-kualitatif dengan hasil: 1) Validitas perangkat kategori sangat valid (skor 3.63); 2) Keterbacaan LKS menunjukkan 100% isi LKS menarik dan mudah dipahami, 82.86% penampilan LKS menarik dan keterbacaan Buku Siswa terbaca dan layak digunakan untuk siswa SMP dengan rata-rata jumlah kalimat sampel bacaan yang diambil peneliti adalah 5,93 kalimat dalam 100 kata dengan rata-rata jumlah suku kata 145,2; 3) Keterlaksanaan sangat baik (skor rata-rata 3.71); 4) siswa merespon sangat positif (97.14%); 5) Aktivitas siswa bersifat student center; 6) Hasil belajar siswa meningkat (N-gain 0.74); 7) Kemandirian belajar dan kecakapan hidup siswa meningkat. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe webbed berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan sudah valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kemandirian belajar dan kemampuan kecakapan hidup siswa SMP.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) mendeskripsikan keefektifan implementasi kurikulum SN-Dikti pada Prodi Pendidikan Biologi, dan 2) mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan implementasi kurikulum SN-Dikti pada Prodi Pendidikan Biologi. Penelitian ini berupa penelitian observasional. Observasi dilakukan pada matakuliah program studi Pendidikan Biologi. Pengumpulan data terkait dokumen dan observasi dilakukan dengan mengacu pada instrumen yang relevan untuk mengukur  mengukur efektivitas dan keterlaksanaan kurikulum Dikti. Analisis data disesuaikan dengan jenis instrumennya, yaitu 1) instrumen pengumpul data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif, 2) nilai hasil belajar dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan uji perbedaan rerata, 3) instrumen observasi proses perkuliahan dianalisis secara deskrptif kuantitatif, 4) angket dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian yaitu 1) Kurikulum SN-Dikti pada Prodi Pendidikan Biologi efektif, dan 2) Keterlaksanaan Kurikulum SN-Dikti pada Prodi Pendidikan Biologi sangat baik.Kata kunci: Efektivitas, Kurikulum, Pendidikan Biologi This aims of this study to: 1) describe the effectiveness of the implementation of the SN-Dikti curriculum in Biology Education Department, and 2) describe the implementation of the SN-Dikti curriculum implementation in Biology Education Department. This research is an observational study. Observations were made on the courses of Biology Education Department. Collecting data related to documents and observations is conducted by referring to relevant instruments to measure the effectiveness and feasibility of the Higher Education curriculum. Data analysis was adjusted to the type of instrument, namely 1) the data collection instruments were analyzed descriptively qualitatively, 2) the value of learning outcomes was analyzed descriptively quantitative and the average difference test, 3) the observation instrument of the lecturing process was analyzed descriptively quantitative, 4) the questionnaire was analyzed descriptively quantitative. The results of the study are: 1) curriculum of SN-Dikti in Biology Education Department is effective, and 2) The implementation of SN-Dikti Curriculum in Biology Education Department is very good.Keywords: Effectiveness, Curriculum, Biology Education

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan dan mengimplementasikan perangkat pembelajaran Biologi berbasis metakognitif. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model 4-D, meliputi tahap pendefinisian (Definition), perancangan (Design), dan pengembangan (Develop), sedangkan tahap penyebaran (Disseminate) tidak dilakukan karena penelitian ini tergolong penelitian pengembangan. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri di Jawa Timur. Observasi, angket, dan tes digunakan untuk mengumpulkan variasi informasi selama implementasi perangkat pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran ini valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir reflektif. Terdapat hambatan yang ditemui selama implementasi perangkat pembelajaran. Beberapa siswa bingung akan tugas dan strategi belajar baru, dan belum terbiasa mengoreksi dan mengakui kesalahan diri sendiri. Alternatif solusi yang diberikan dengan memberikan pengarahan dan informasi kepada siswa tentang pembelajaran menggunakan strategi metakognitif dengan harapan siswa lebih mudah dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, memberikan bimbingan untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir reflektif, dan membuat analogi yang mudah dipahami siswa. ABSTRACTThe aim of this research was to develop and implement biology learning materials based on metacognitive strategy. The learning material was developed by using 4-D model, including the Definition, Design, Develop phase, whereas the Disseminate phase was not conducted because this research is classified as the development research. This research was conducted in one of the senior high schools in East Java. Validating, observing, and giving questionnaire were implemented to collect various information during implementation of the learning materials. The findings from this research showed that the learning materials are valid, practical, and effective in empowering students both in terms of attention and learning outcomes. There were several obstacles occurred during the implementation of the learning materials, i.e. students were confused of new task and learning strategy and were not accostumed in correcting and acknowledged their own mistakes. Alternative solutions were given by providing guidance and information to students about learning using metacognitive strategy, so that students were expected to follow the learning with ease, as well as to train their reflective thinking skill and using an analogy which easier to understand.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning materials based on a guided inquiry-based model and a PhET-assisted learning process which are valid, practical, and effective. The development of learning materials utilized a 4D model without dissemination. The developed learning materials were tested using one group pretest-posttest design at Grade 8, SMPN 3 Airmadidi, North Minahasa in Semester 1 the 2016/2017 Academic Year. Data collection were performed using validation, observation, written test, and questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results show that: (1) the validity of developed learning materials which include lesson plan, worksheet, student book, and assessment instrument is achieved; (2) practicality in terms of adherence to lesson plans categorized practical, student activities in learning have reflecting activities that correspond to the stage of guided inquiry-based learning, the difficulties encountered in learning activities that students have not been accustomed to follow guided inquiry-based learning method and use of PhET; (3) student’s responses are effective with respect to the developed learning materials used in class, indicating that the materials are effective for students in mastery learning in terms of cognitive, attitude, and skill aspects. Based on research findings and the corresponding analyses, the developed learning materials are appropriate in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness for using of science learning in class.

Abstract

AbstrakPendekatan saintifik merupakan salah satu pendekatan yang disarankan dalam Kurikulum 2013. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menguji validitas dan reliabilitas strategi scaffolding pada pendekatan saintifik. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif melalui focus group discussion (FGD). FGD dilakukan dalam rangka memvalidasi strategi scaffolding oleh 3 orang pakar pendidikan (dengan kualifikasi minimal doktor) untuk membahas, memberi masukan, dan memberi penilaian terhadap strategi scaffolding IMWR yang dikembangkan. Proses penilaian menggunakan instrumen validasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan cara menghitung skor dari validator untuk mengetahui validitas dan reliabilitas strategi scaffolding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi scaffolding IMWR sangat valid (dengan skor 3,79) dan reliabel (dengan skor 0,93) sehingga dapat digunakan untuk membantu menerapkan pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran.  AbstractThe scientific approach is one of the approaches suggested in the 2013 Curriculum. The purpose of the research was to test the validity and reliability of scaffolding strategies in the scientific approach. The research method is descriptive through focus group discussions (FGD). The FGD was conducted in order to validate the scaffolding strategy by 3 education experts (with a minimum doctoral qualification) to discuss, provide input, and provide an assessment of the IMWR scaffolding strategy developed. The assessment process used a validation instrument. Data analysis used descriptive analysis by calculating the score of the validator to determine the validity and reliability of the scaffolding strategy. The results showed that the IMWR scaffolding strategy was very valid (with a score of 3.79) and reliable (with a score of 0.93) so that it could be used to help apply a scientific approach to learning.

Abstract

Competencies of nowadays biology pre-service teacher is an important key for the future education quality. This article aimed to discuss the effectiveness of Thinking Working Scaffolding Sharing (TWSS) model implementaton in Departement of Biology UM. This quantitative descriptive study used learning outcomes (professional and pedagogical competencies), attitudes, and group activity of biology pre-service teacher as determinant factors of the TWSS model effectiveness. The instrument to collect the data for those parameters were product assessment and observation sheet. Universitas Negeri Malang assessment guideline was utilized to determine the pre-service teachers’ competencies; meanwhile, the percentage calculation was employed as the data analysis procedure to proceed the data. The results informed: 1) the mean values of learning outcomes for professional and pedagogical competencies were 94 and 74, respectively; 2) 92% of students showed individual responsibility in completing their tasks (in which 46% was categorized as ‘excellent’ and the other 46% was considered as ‘good’); 3) 85% of students performed excellent attitude in their group work. Therefore, the implementation of TWSS model is effective to improve natural science competencies for biology pre-service teacher.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran fisika dengan strategi PBMP yang valid, praktis, dan efektif guna memberdayakan berpikir siswa SMP. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model 4-D dan diujicobakan di kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Yosowilangun semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, tes, dan angket. Temuan hasil penelitian, yaitu: 1) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori valid; 2) Kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori baik dan sesuai dengan tahap-tahap pada strategi PBMP; dan 3) Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari: (a) Peningkatan keterampilan berpikir siswa terlihat dari ketuntasan individual, dan klasikal; dan (c) Respon siswa terhadap perangkat dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran sangat  positif. Berdasarkan hasil temuan dalam penelitian ini, disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA Fisika dengan Strategi PBMP, valid, praktis dan efektif guna memberdayakan kemampuan berpikir siswa SMP.

Abstract

Abstrak. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang keterlaksanaan model SCT untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy mahasiswa calon guru kimia padamateri koloid. Sintaks model SCT adalah 1) Orientasi mahasiswa; 2) Aktivitas ilmiah; 3) Presentasi hasil aktivitas ilmiah; 4) Penyelesaian tugas berpikir kirits; 5) Evaluasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan untuk mengetahui kepraktisan dan keefektifan dari prototipe model SCT dalam pembelajaran materi Koloid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan model SCT menunjukkan kategori sangat baik (85,84,%), aktivitas mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran menunjukkan kategori sangat aktif (85,29%), terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis (rerata N-gain = 0,87/tinggi) dan self efficacy mahasiswa calon guru kimia (rerata N-gain = 0,78/tinggi). Dengan demikian model SCT sudah memenuhi syarat kepraktisan dan keefektifan sebagai prototipe sebuah model.

Abstract

Materi genetika merupakan materi yang sulit dipahami karena memuat konsep yang terdiri atas beberapa tahapan rumit dan kompleks. Namun dalam mempelajarinya, peserta didik menggunakan LKPD berisi ringkasan dan beberapa pertanyaan yang belum melatihkan untuk menemukan konsep secara mandiri. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan LKPD yang dapat membantu peserta didik untuk menemukan konsep secara mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan LKPD berbasis guided discovery pada materi genetika untuk SMA kelas XII yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate) tanpa tahap Disseminate. Validitas LKPD ditinjau berdasarkan validasi pakar pendidikan dan pakar materi genetika. Kemudian, LKPD diujicobakan secara terbatas pada 20 peserta didik kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Sidayu pada bulan Februari 2018 untuk diketahui kepraktisannya. Kepraktisan LKPD ditinjau dari aktivitas peserta didik oleh pengamat yang merupakan mahasiswa S1 pendidikan Biologi. Hasil validasi LKPD diperoleh modus sebesar 3,5 yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Hasil pengamatan aktivitas peserta didik diperoleh persentase kemunculan sebesar 100%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis guided discovery pada materi substansi genetika yang dikembangkan dinyatakan sangat valid dan sangat praktis.
