Abstract

In the culinary and health fields, spices are known to play a significant role. However, differentiating and identifying spices can often be challenging, especially for students or individuals with impaired sense of smell and taste. Our research builds upon our previous study, which involved designing a spice classification model using the pre-trained EfficientNetB0 model, yielding a testing accuracy of 48%. This study designs and develops an application for classifying images of spices from the Zingiberaceae family using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, aimed at addressing the difficulties of manual spice identification. Testing results using a black box technique indicate that the designed application performs well in basic tasks such as opening the interface without significant errors, responding promptly to functional buttons, and displaying user-inputted image results. However, in one of the testing scenarios, the application struggled to accurately classify certain spice images, indicating the need for improvements in the model used for more precise spice image classification.

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the strategic optimization of Indonesia's National Shipyard Industry, focusing on its role in enhancing maritime security in the Indonesian Archipelago II (ALKI II) region. Utilizing a TOWS analysis and drawing on expert opinions in maritime security, the research examines the internal and external factors influencing the industry, as well as potential future threats. The relocation of the National Capital to Penajem Pasir Utara, East Kalimantan, emerged as a pivotal factor, offering a geographically centralized location and favorable environmental conditions, and presenting an opportunity to equalize the development of the Galkapnas Industry. The results indicate that almost 60% of Galkapnas are concentrated in Java and Batam, highlighting the need for aggressive strategic action to redistribute the industry and facilitate maintenance functions in ALKI II. The study underscores the importance of coordinated efforts among various ministries, particularly the Ministry of Defense, in achieving this redistribution, and concludes with recommendations for stakeholders to embrace the challenge of building and optimizing Galkapnas through extensive development in the ALKI II region, thereby enhancing the Navy's operational capabilities.Highlights: The concentration of almost 60% of Galkapnas in Java and Batam necessitates aggressive redistribution for optimizing maritime security. Relocation of the National Capital to Penajem Pasir Utara presents strategic opportunities for balanced development and industrial growth in the maritime sector. Coordination among ministries and stakeholders is crucial for implementing the recommended changes, enhancing the Indonesian Navy's operational capabilities. Abstract

Background. Both miscarriage and stillbirth occur in almost 20% of clinical pregnancies, resulting in pregnancy loss. The incidence has been associated with several risk factors and events of maternal adverse health outcomes. Purpose. This study was conducted to analyze some associated factors of pregnancy loss in Indonesia. Methods. This cross-sectional study used the 2017 Indonesia DHS data involving 18,882 female participants aged 15–49 years who had ever had a gestation. Pregnancy loss was the dependent variable, whereas the independent variables included education, employment, wealth status, advanced maternal age, grand multiparity, and cigarette smokers. Finally, the author used binary logistic regression to calculate the determinants. Results. The adjusted risk of pregnancy loss was significantly higher in respondents with lower education levels (AOR=1.25; 95% CI: 1.11-1.41) and employed (AOR=1.19; 95% CI: 1.10-1.29). The lower the wealth status of women, the higher the chance of pregnancy loss. The adjusted risk of pregnancy loss was higher in women of advanced maternal age (AOR=2.03; 95% CI: 1.37-3.02), those with grand multiparity (AOR=1.91; 95% CI: 1.74-2.09), and those who cigarette smokers (AOR=1.53; 95% CI: 1.25-1.87). Conclusion. The study concluded that six variables i.e., education, employment, wealth status, advanced maternal age, grand multiparity, and cigarette smokers are strong predictors of pregnancy loss in Indonesian women. Therefore, the government should make a policy to address the determinants of the pregnancy issue.

Abstract

The constitution serves as the highest legal norm and foundational framework for the governance of a sovereign state. Within the framework of constitutionalism, the constitution is understood not merely as a collection of written or unwritten rules, but as the embodiment of a normative hierarchy that guides state authority and ensures the protection of citizens’ rights. The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia plays a central role in upholding constitutional supremacy and safeguarding constitutional rights. Its powers include judicial review of legislation, constitutional interpretation, settlement of electoral disputes, adjudication of constitutional complaints, and—through specific legal procedures—issuing decisions on the dismissal of the President and/or Vice President. This article employs a normative juridical method with a qualitative approach, based on secondary data drawn from constitutional texts, legal literature, and decisions of the Constitutional Court. Through doctrinal analysis, the study reveals that the Constitutional Court functions not only as the guardian of the Constitution but also as a protector of democratic values and fundamental human rights. The findings underscore the importance of a theoretically grounded and constitutionally consistent role of the Court in reinforcing the rule of law and preventing the abuse of state power.
