Abstract

Background: The effectiveness of healthcare services at RSUD Provinsi NTB heavily relies on team synergy, which is often fragmented by bureaucratic complexity and work pressure. Reintegrating team performance is crucial to ensuring patient safety and organizational sustainability. Objective: This study aims to analyze how organizational communication models, trust, and commitment influence the reintegration of team performance through the lens of managerial epidemiology and social determinants. Methods: This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Literature searches were conducted on Scopus and Google Scholar databases covering the period 2014–2024. Article selection followed the PRISMA protocol, resulting in a set of selected articles analyzed qualitatively. Results: Findings indicate that transparent organizational communication is a primary predictor of inter-professional trust. This trust acts as a mediator that strengthens staff's affective commitment. From a managerial epidemiology perspective, these factors are social determinants capable of reintegrating declining team performance. Conclusion: The success of RSUD Provinsi NTB in enhancing team performance depends on management's ability to manage organizational social determinants by strengthening the communication climate and a culture of mutual trust.

Abstract

Improving the performance of referral hospitals in the health transformation era highly depends on the integration of managerial epidemiology and an understanding of social determinants of health. This study aims to formulate a strategic model for improving employee performance at RSUD Provinsi NTB by analyzing the roles of leadership and job promotion systems. The research method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), examining scientific articles from Scopus and Google Scholar databases within the 2014-2024 period. The literature review results indicate that transformational leadership is a determinant factor capable of mitigating workload pressure in referral hospitals, while a merit-based job promotion system acts as the primary catalyst for employee motivation and loyalty. The synthesis of the literature confirms that an effective performance model integrates epidemiological data for resource allocation with transparent human resource development policies. The implications of this study suggest that the management of RSUD Provinsi NTB should strengthen the managerial competence of middle-level leaders and standardize promotion mechanisms to respond to complex public health challenges in the West Nusa Tenggara region

Abstract

Background: Nurses at the NTB Provincial General Hospital face significant psychosocial challenges due to high work demands in a primary referral facility. Objective: This study aims to analyze the social determination of the work environment, specifically the impact of work shifts and workload on nursing performance through the mediation of burnout from a psychosocial epidemiology perspective. Methods: This study employed a Narrative Literature Review method. Literature searches were conducted through Scopus and Google Scholar databases covering the period 2015-2025. Articles the inclusion criteria were synthesized to provide a comprehensive overview of the phenomenon. Results: Findings indicate that non-ergonomic work shifts and excessive workload are primary predictors of burnout among nurses. Burnout consistently mediates the relationship between work environment pressures and the decline in clinical performance and work motivation. Conclusion: The decline in nursing performance at the NTB Provincial General Hospital is a manifestation of unmanaged psychosocial stressors. Hospital management needs to intervene in work schedule systems and workload distribution to reduce burnout rates and maintain the quality of healthcare services

Abstract

Background: The implementation of the National Health Insurance (JKN) by BPJS Kesehatan requires RSUD Provinsi NTB to balance social functions with financial sustainability. Dynamics in claim policies and social determinant pressures often hinder optimal performance. Objective: This study aims to analyze the integration of managerial epidemiology and social determinants into regional hospital performance evaluation models using the Resource-Based View (RBV) theoretical framework. Method: This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The literature search was conducted via Scopus and Google Scholar databases covering the period 2014-2024. Inclusion criteria focused on articles discussing public hospital management, RBV theory in healthcare, and BPJS policies in Indonesia. Results: Findings indicate that hospital performance amidst BPJS dynamics is significantly determined by internal capabilities (strategic assets) such as claim management information systems and medical coder competencies, aligned with RBV theory. Managerial epidemiology plays a crucial role as a resource allocation predictive tool, while social determinants act as external variables influencing claim risk profiles. Integrating these aspects into performance evaluation is proven to enhance hospital operational resilience. Conclusion: An effective performance evaluation model for regional hospitals must shift from mere financial indicators toward a strategic approach based on internal resource strengths and a deep understanding of local population epidemiological conditions.

Abstract

Background: Nurse performance at RSUD Provinsi NTB is a fundamental pillar of public healthcare quality. However, this performance is influenced by complex factors involving social determinants of the work environment and leadership patterns. Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership and motivation on nurse performance through the mediation of job satisfaction within a managerial epidemiology perspective. Methods: This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The literature search was conducted via Scopus and Google Scholar databases covering the period 2014-2024. Article selection followed strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 10 relevant real-world articles. Results: Findings indicate that transformational leadership and motivation have a significant positive impact on performance. Job satisfaction was identified as a crucial mediating variable; without adequate job satisfaction, the impetus from leadership and motivation fails to achieve optimal performance outcomes. Managerially, the work environment acts as a primary determinant that must be managed to prevent an "epidemic" of productivity decline. Conclusion: Strengthening transformational leadership at the ward head level and enhancing intrinsic motivation are highly recommended to improve nurse performance at RSUD Provinsi NTB by fostering stable job satisfaction

Abstract

Background: Nurse job satisfaction is a crucial indicator of healthcare service effectiveness at RSUD Provinsi NTB. However, managerial dysfunction often acts as a systemic barrier that diminishes medical staff performance. Objective: This study aims to analyze the social determinants of the work environment through the impact of internal communication and participation on nurse job satisfaction, with work motivation as a mediating variable within a managerial epidemiology framework. Method: This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Literature searches were conducted via Scopus and Google Scholar databases spanning 2016-2026. Selected articles were analyzed using qualitative synthesis techniques to identify relationship patterns between variables. Results: Findings indicate that transparent internal communication and active participation in decision-making significantly enhance job satisfaction. Work motivation is proven to be a key mediator that strengthens the positive influence of the social environment on nurses' psychological well-being. From a managerial epidemiology perspective, communication failure is identified as a “risk determinant” that can trigger a collective decline in service quality. Conclusion: The integration of effective communication and broad participatory spaces is essential for RSUD Provinsi NTB management to create a healthy and motivating work environment

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a manifestation of chronic malnutrition that impacts the quality of human resources, especially in regions with island geographical characteristics such as West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Although interventions have been implemented, stunting prevalence in this region still requires in-depth analysis regarding social determinants and the effectiveness of cross-sectoral coordination. Objective: This study aims to map the epidemiological profile, identify dominant social determinants, and evaluate the effectiveness of multisectoral interventions in NTB Province through a literature review. Methods: This research employed the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Article searches were conducted on Scopus and Google Scholar databases within the 2014-2024 timeframe. Article selection followed strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 10 primary articles analyzed qualitatively. Results: Findings indicate that social determinants such as access to sanitation (WASH), maternal education level, and family economic status are the primary risk factors in NTB. The island region's characteristics cause significant disparities in food access and health services. Specific interventions (medical) proved effective when supported by sensitive interventions (non-medical) through multisectoral collaboration and local volunteer empowerment. Conclusion: Stunting management in NTB requires a region-based approach that is adaptive to the geographical constraints of the islands. Policy synchronization between central and local governments, along with the strengthening of basic infrastructure, is key to accelerating stunting reduction.

Abstract

Background: Employee work motivation in the health sector, particularly at RSUD NTB Province, is a crucial determinant in ensuring service quality and patient safety. However, fluctuations in motivation are often managerial challenges influenced by human resource development policies. Objective: This study aims to analyze and synthesize literature regarding the influence of training and career development on work motivation and to examine the mediating role of job satisfaction in this relationship through a managerial epidemiology perspective. Methods: This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar and Scopus databases with a publication timeframe of 2014-2024. Inclusion criteria focused on original research discussing the variables of training, career, satisfaction, and motivation in health organizations or public services. Results: The review results show that training and career development have a significant positive impact on work motivation. The main findings confirm that job satisfaction functions as an essential mediator; meaning that training programs and career path clarity will only optimally increase motivation if they can meet expectations and provide psychological satisfaction for employees. Conclusion: Epidemiologically, job satisfaction acts as an intermediate factor that determines organizational health. The management of RSUD NTB Province is advised to integrate competency development programs with transparent career systems to mitigate the risk of declining work motivation.
