Abstract

This research examines power relations in Kamila Andini's Gadis Kretek series using a Critical Discourse Analysis approach grounded in Michel Foucault's theory. Set in the kretek industry in Indonesia, the series explores themes of family conflict, business competition, and the search for identity through a cultural lens. This study investigates how power operates through discourse, discipline, and social control as reflected in the relationships between characters, which aligns with Foucault's theory. Discourses on tradition, gender, and national identity are analyzed as tools for normalizing and reinforcing dominance, particularly in maintaining hierarchies within the family business. The analysis focuses on specific scenes that highlight the stigmatization of thought, control of the body, and resistance to existing power structures. The findings reveal that the series portrays power not only as physical domination but also as control over the mind and body, deeply embedded in cultural practices and family relationships. This study offers a deeper understanding of how media represents power relations within Indonesia's social structure while emphasizing the symbolic significance of kretek as a representation of national identity.

Abstract

The Future Agile Leader Program (FALP) at IPB University aims to cultivate leadership skills among students and young leaders through adaptive group communication patterns. This study seeks to analyze the communication strategies employed by the Best Young Leaders in maintaining the program's existence and to explore the dynamics between organizers and participants in ensuring its sustainability. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, in-depth interviews were conducted with GYP (20 years old), one of FALP's distinguished young leaders. The findings reveal that adaptive communication patterns, grounded in responsiveness to the challenges of the digital era, leverage a hybrid approach of online and offline interactions (O2). Central to this framework are two-way communication and transparency, which foster collaboration and synergy among group members. Robust internal communication enhances each member's regarding their roles, significantly contributing to the group's success. Moreover, harmonious relationships between organizers and participants emerge as a pivotal factor in sustaining the program. This study concludes that adaptive and collaborative communication frameworks serve as a foundational pillar in ensuring FALP's longevity. Future recommendations include further exploration of the interplay between technology and self-awareness in elevating communication quality within leadership development initiatives.

Abstract

Development of digital technology has significantly changed how young generations, especially generation Z, access political information. This study aims to analyze utilization of the Instagram account @whatisupindonesia as a means to enhance political awareness among generation Z. Methods used in this research include content analysis and interviews with relevant informants. Results indicate that content posted by this account successfully captures attention of young audiences and encourages them to participate more actively in political discussions. Use of visual elements and a casual language style in presenting political information makes complex issues easier to understand. Research concludes that social media, particularly Instagram, can serve as an effective tool for building political awareness among generation Z. Involvement of generation Z in broader political processes can be improved through engaging and relevant content strategies. It is essential for social media account managers to continuously develop innovative approaches to convey political information to generation Z in the future.

Abstract

This study analyzes the communication strategies of the Ciomas Rahayu Village Public Relations in utilizing Instagram as a public communication medium. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews and documentation. The findings indicate that Instagram effectively enhances public interaction with the village government. The implemented strategies include consistent posting, two-way communication through comments and messages, and collaboration with local organizations. The application of the 4C theory (Context, Communication, Collaboration, Connection) highlights that active collaboration and connection are key to the successful use of social media.

Abstract

This study analyzes the public relations strategy implemented by PT Tempat Berkarya Indonesia in building an educational brand image through Instagram social media content. The research focuses on the public relations strategy for creating educational content and identifying factors that influence content development. A qualitative case study approach is used, with data collected through in-depth interviews with the public relations team and social media managers, as well as direct observation of Instagram content, including reels, feeds, and stories. The findings reveal that PT Tempat Berkarya Indonesia effectively utilizes an educational content strategy through informative and visually engaging posts that resonate with the audience's needs. Additionally, factors such as social media trends, audience preferences, and the company’s educational objectives significantly influence the planning and execution of content. This study demonstrates that Instagram serves as a vital tool for the company in building a cohesive and impactful educational brand image that consistently attracts audience attention.

Abstract

The epidemiological transition has occurred significantly over the last two decades, with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) becoming the main burden. In context of health communication, health campaign activities are expected to reduce these problems. The objective of the research is to analyze health communication channels and the relationship between health communication channels and health behavior. Data were collected by applying a survey method using a self-administered questionnaire. The survey was conducted in Depok City, West Java, Indonesia. Respondents were residents of aged fifteen years and over, who had been exposed to health promotion campaigns or activities from the various communication channels used. Total sample size was 120 respondents. Univariate analysis was applied to get frequency distribution tables, while bivariate analysis was applied using Pearson correlation analysis. The research results indicate that majority of the residents are still in moderate category with regard to implementing health behaviors. There are still many people, who implement unhealthy behaviors, particularly with regard to regular health checks. Secondly, the frequency of use of health promotion communication channels remains low. New media channels, interpersonal media and community media are three channels that are perceived as trustworthy, attractive and credible. Thirdly, this study found that the frequency of using communication channels, channel trustworthiness, attractiveness and credibility have a significant relationship with health behavior. The findings of this study have implications for health campaign program designers, who should consider including campaign messages that can lead to improve public health behavior and prevent the occurrence of NCDs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengelolaan konten media sosial sebagai sarana informasi di PT Graha Andrasentra Propertindo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan partisipasi aktif, observasi, dan wawancara mendalam kepada tim Marketing Komunikasi perusahaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan konten dilakukan secara strategis dengan memanfaatkan data analitik audiens untuk menyesuaikan konten yang relevan dan menarik, serta menggunakan fitur interaktif media sosial untuk membangun komunikasi dua arah dengan pelanggan. Tim juga menghadapi berbagai tantangan seperti keterbatasan sumber daya dan perubahan algoritma platform, yang diatasi dengan inovasi konten dan manajemen krisis yang responsif. Kesimpulannya, pengelolaan konten media sosial di PT Graha Andrasentra Propertindo efektif dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan audiens, membangun kepercayaan publik, dan memperkuat citra perusahaan sebagai sarana informasi dan pemasaran yang strategis di era digital.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas strategi perencanaan kreatif dan pengembangan pesan komunikasi pemasaran pada program gameshow Family 100 MNCTV. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari kebutuhan akan strategi komunikasi yang terencana dan inovatif agar program televisi mampu bersaing dan mempertahankan perhatian audiens. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengidentifikasi strategi promosi serta pengembangan pesan yang dilakukan tim Marketing Development MNCTV sesuai dengan identitas program. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi lapangan selama masa magang, melalui observasi langsung, wawancara internal, dan dokumentasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi dilakukan secara terintegrasi (IMC), meliputi pemanfaatan media sosial, promosi lintas program, dan penguatan identitas visual. Seluruh strategi disesuaikan dengan target audiens dan citra program, sehingga mampu menciptakan daya tarik yang konsisten. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya perencanaan kreatif dan pengembangan pesan yang tepat dalam mendukung efektivitas komunikasi pemasaran program televisi serta dapat menjadi referensi bagi praktik serupa di industri media.

Abstract

The study was conducted in Batang Regency, Central Java. Still high levels of family poverty in this area, especially the condition of the family head women and tend to have non-permanent work, make the authors interested in doing this in-property research. Research methods using quantitative mixed methods are strengthened by qualitative analysis. The sampling technique uses stratified random sampling, using the Slovin formula to determine the magnitude of the number of respondents. The study population numbered 535, with a total sample of research were 229 female heads of households. The results showed that indicators of group roles and companion roles had a very large contribution in encouraging the characteristics of women's household heads to be more empowered. Through a companion role, making a family of female heads more actively communicating. Through the development of public speaking, establishing a critical culture in the group, thus growing self-confidence, forming a empowered, independent, and potential self. Important research is conducted to see the extent to which the women's head program has walked the trunk, creating many tough women. Research novelty was obtained based on a combination of group communication attributed to economic empowerment.

Abstract

In the contemporary business landscape, CSR programs are essential for fostering a favorable public image. This research highlights the significance of public relations communication in aligning corporate and community interests through CSR messaging. The study aims to evaluate the public relations strategies used by PT Ricky Putra Globalindo Tbk in its CSR initiatives. A mixed-methods approach is employed, including in-depth stakeholder interviews, employee questionnaires, and relevant documentation. The analysis is framed by Berlo's SMCR model to evaluate CSR message efficacy. Findings indicate that message source credibility, clarity, relevance to social values, and appropriate communication channels are critical to successful CSR communication. A well-structured communication strategy has been shown to improve community comprehension of CSR efforts. In summary, effective public relations communication enhances CSR program implementation and fortifies the company-public relationship, serving as a crucial element for future corporate communication policy.
