Abstract

The demand for geospatial information of a region grows in numerous sectors, as does the method of mapping operations. Various advanced technology has been utilized to support survey and mapping activities, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). This study aims to develop a method to digitize building documentation by integrating the UAV in the Building Information Modelling (BIM) by considering a lodging property in Bengkalis regency as the case study. Orthophoto data obtained from processing aerial photos taken using three flight paths, namely Nadir, Oblique, and Circular, was used to develop the BIM 3D model. The accuracy of the developed BIM model was evaluated using the orthophoto data as the horizontal accuracy using the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) metrics. The accuracy calculation of Point Cloud 3D resulted from the integration of BIM and UAV, resulting in RMSExy of 0.0834 m, a height ratio of 0.05, and Circular Error (CE) accuracy of 0.1265 m included in the Level of Detail (LOD) 3, confirming the high accuracy of BIM-UAV integration.

Abstract

Understanding and accurately representing the Earth's surface is crucial in various scientific and practical fields. Over the past decades, measurement technology has seen remarkable advancements, offering an array of methods for recording and analyzing Earth's surface with increasing precision and efficiency. Two primary approaches have risen to the forefront of this field: the Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and terrestrial measurements using a Total Station. Although both technologies offer unique advantages and constraints, a comprehensive direct comparison between these two methods often remains an underexplored area. The Digital Elevation Model (DEM) represents the height of the ground surface resulting from acquisition using drones. Ground Control Points (GCPs) are evenly distributed in the study’s Area of Interest (AoI) to enhance accuracy and precision. The DEM data is then converted into contour maps and corrected for horizontal and vertical accuracy using the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) method following the Geospatial Information Agency's standards (Regulation No. 15 of 2014). Terrestrial measurement is a method used to create contour maps using a Total Station to obtain field coordinate data. Terrestrial measurements create contour maps using a Total Station, with field coordinate data corrected by GPS Geodetic methods and compared with aerial photo DEM data. RMSE calculations reveal that DEM data has RMSExy of 0.319 meter (m) and RMSEz of 0.197 m, whereas terrestrial data using the Total Station shows RMSExy of 0.062 m and RMSEz of 0.039 m. Accuracy comparisons indicate that the DEM from aerial photographs has a Circular Error (CE) of 0.485 m and Linear Error (LE) of 0.325 m, while terrestrial data accuracy using a Total Station shows CE of 0.094 m and LE of 0.064 m.

Abstract

The increase in population and motorized vehicles in Bengkalis City has led to greater demand for public transportation, which remains insufficient in meeting accessibility needs. This study aims to develop a model for planning public transportation routes using Geographic Information System (GIS) tools to improve accessibility in Bengkalis City. The study employs primary data from field surveys and secondary data from relevant agencies. GIS-based spatial analysis methods, such as service area analysis and the Origin-Destination (OD) matrix, are applied to evaluate accessibility and passenger movement patterns. The analysis results in two route alternatives assessed based on stop point density, community accessibility, and passenger distribution. The first alternative is identified as more effective in serving population centers and minimizing service gaps. The findings provide a spatially grounded approach to transportation planning and may support local efforts to improve public transport coverage.

Abstract

Abstract

The brick-making industry is an industry with rough work that relies on the physical strength of its workers. The posture of workers when carrying out the work process is often not ergonomic, so workers are at risk of experiencing musculoskeletal disorders and discomfort due to posture when doing work that is not ergonomic and heavy physical workload because it is done manually relying on strength. This study was conducted to determine the description of MSDs complaints experienced by brickmakers and the factors influencing them. This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. Conducted from March to September 2024, with the research location in Sarilamak Village, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra. The study population was all workers, totaling 76 people in 35 brick production sites; the number of samples was 66 workers. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and weight and height measuring instruments. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The study shows that 80.3% of brick workers experience high-risk MSDs complaints. The body parts most complained about by workers during and after work are the waist, back, and calves. There is no relationship between age (p-value = 0.512), work period (p-value = 0.799), BMI (p-value = 0.191), work posture (p-value = 0.713), and workload (p-value = 0.517) with MSDs complaints in brick workers. There is no relationship between age, length of service, BMI, work posture, and workload with MSD complaints in brick workers. Business owners are expected to provide workers with ergonomic work equipment and help them improve their body position while working.
