Abstract

Background: Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) is a chronic complication of diabetes mellitus that significantly affects patients’ quality of life. Several wound classification systems are used to assess DFU severity, including the Wagner and SHID classifications. However, evidence comparing the application of these classifications in evaluating quality of life (QoL) among DFU patients has not been comprehensively mapped. Purpose: To map and compare existing evidence regarding the use of SHID and Wagner wound classifications in evaluating quality of life in patients with diabetic foot ulcer. Method: A scoping review was conducted following the Arksey and O’Malley framework. Literature searches were performed in electronic databases (PubMed and Google Scholar) for studies published within the last five years. Eligible articles were analyzed using descriptive and thematic approaches. Results: Most studies applied the Wagner classification as the primary clinical assessment tool, while SHID was reported to provide a more comprehensive depiction of wound conditions. Conclusion: A consistent association between wound severity and decreased quality of life was identified, although direct integration of both classifications with QoL instruments remains limited. Keywords: Diabetic Foot Ulcer; Wagner Classification; SHID; Quality of Life; Scoping Review.

Abstract

The Sabang electricity system is an isolated grid system that relies on diesel power plants with long distribution lines, which can cause high losses and voltage drops. This study aims to find the optimal placement of Distributed Generation (DG) and capacitors using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Method to reduce losses and voltage deviation, with a voltage limit of 5% on a 20 kV system. Simulation results show that without DG and capacitors, losses reach 26 kW at peak load and 24.4 kW at normal load, with low voltages at some buses. After optimization, the combined use of DG and capacitors reduces losses by 50.82% at normal load and 51.15% at peak load. The voltage profile also improves by about 200 - 350 V at each bus, bringing it closer to the nominal value of 20 kV. Compared with Genetic Algorithm (GA), PSO provides better results, with 0.45 - 3.79% lower active power losses and 0 - 7.40% lower reactive power losses. This proves that PSO is effective in improving the efficiency, voltage quality, and reliability of isolated distribution systems. Keywords – Distributed generation (DG), Losses, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Renewable Energy

Abstract

Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease with a continuously increasing prevalence both globally and nationally. Successful management of T2DM is highly dependent on patient self-management behaviors. Assessment tools such as the Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire-Revised (DSMQ-R) and the Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities-Indonesia (SDSCA-I) have been widely used to assess independent diabetes management. However, the integration of these tools with the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (INDS) in establishing nursing diagnoses is still limited. Purpose: To map the existing scientific evidence regarding the use of DSMQ-R and SDSCA-I in assessing diabetes self-management and to explore their potential in supporting nursing diagnosis formulation based on INDS. Method: A scoping review was conducted following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Literature searches were performed in Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect for articles published between 2018 and 2025. Included studies were primary quantitative and mixed-methods research addressing DSMQ-R, SDSCA, self-management in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, and their correlation with clinical outcomes. Results: Most studies demonstrated that DSMQ-R and SDSCA have good validity and reliability and are significantly correlated with glycemic control (HbA1c). DSMQ-R showed a stronger correlation with HbA1c compared to SDSCA. However, no studies were identified that directly integrated these instruments with INDS in establishing nursing diagnoses. Conclusion: DSMQ-R and SDSCA-I have the potential to serve as foundational tools for developing INDS-based assessment models in nursing practice. Keywords: DSMQ-R; INDS; SDSCA-I; Self-Management; Scoping Review; Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies and the growing demand for public accountability have positioned digital human capital and intellectual capital as critical drivers of strengthening local government governance. This study examines the role of digital human capital and intellectual capital in enhancing public governance and sustainable regional financial performance accountability. This study employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review, drawing on peer-reviewed articles, government reports, and case studies published between 2010 and 2023. The findings show that digital human capital improves public service delivery and citizen engagement, while intellectual capital, comprising human, structural, and relational capital, enhances resource management and governance processes. The review also identifies challenges such as the digital divide and resistance to change that hinder the effective integration of these forms of capital. The paper suggests that integrating digital and intellectual capital can significantly improve financial accountability and governance outcomes, particularly in developing countries, where challenges to digital transformation are prevalent. However, further empirical studies are needed to explore the long-term impact and practical application of these resources in local government settings.
