Abstract

Nurses in carrying out their role as care givers have the task of caring for patients, making decisions, communicating and collaborating with other health teams. The Emergency Room is part of the hospital that provides initial treatment for patients. The implementation of patient safety carried out by nurses is a form of compliance in every action or interaction with patients in accordance with a compliance theory or known as the "Compliance Model" (Charles et al, 2003). The design in this study was analytical observation using a cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted in the Emergency Room of Dr. Soedomo Trenggalek Hospital in March - April 2019. The population in this study were all nurses in the Emergency Room of Dr. Soedomo Trenggalek Hospital as many as 30 people with the sample being nurses in the Emergency Room of Dr. Soedomo Trenggalek Hospital. The sampling procedure was carried out using total sampling. The researcher used an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The factor that most influences the role of nurses as care givers in implementing patient safety through the compliance model approach in the Emergency Room is the nurse's attitude. Hospitals are required to provide continuous education and training, periodic socialization of training results to improve the knowledge and skills of officers in implementing patient safety so that it has an impact on optimal nurse performance. Patient safety as a global issue must be included in the education curriculum and become a target for student competency achievement so that new nurses can implement patient safety.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the meaning of the repetition of phrases (tikrār) found in QS.  an-Naml [27]: 60-64. These verses briefly discuss faith in Allah as a very important teaching and a core aspect of human life. Therefore, it is interesting to explore the meaning of the repetition of phrases implied in the verses that discuss this creed. Some research questions to be answered are: first, what is the meaning of the repetition of phrases in QS. an-Naml [27]: 60-64?; second, what wisdom is contained in this repetition of phrases? The research method used in this study is descriptive-analytical method. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that the meaning of the repetition of phrases in QS. an-Naml [27]: 60-64 is a "confirmation" that is present in the phrase "amman" at the beginning of each verse and signifies a "denial" in the phrase "a‘ilāhun ma'a Allāh" in the middle of the verse, with each repeated five times. The repetition serves as an affirmation of the evidence of Allah's oneness in the face of so many creations in the world, all of which are under Allah's power without the interference of anyone else. The meaning of denial is to negate that anything deserves to be worshiped except Allah alone. Furthermore, the wisdom of the repetition of phrases in Surah an-Naml [27]: 60-64 is aimed at establishing true faith, avoiding acts of polytheism, and as a form of contemplation. Because by repeatedly emphasizing a subject matter, faith becomes firmly entrenched in the minds of every individual.

Abstract

Poverty has always been closely associated with farming and fishing communities, due to their inability to meet daily basic needs for survival and their lack of income. Compared to farmers, the poorest group in Sutera District is the fishermen, numbering 2,140 individuals (Padang Ekspres, April 21, 2012). Most residents of Pesisir Selatan depend on food crop agriculture, fisheries, and trade, while other potential resources include plantations and tourism. The majority of residents live along the coastline stretching from north to south. Their primary livelihoods are farming and fishing. Administratively, Pesisir Selatan Regency consists of 12 districts, 76 nagari (villages), and 364 kampung (hamlets). One of the poorer districts is Sutera, which consists of four nagari: Surantih, Taratak, Ampiang Parak, and Amping Parak Timur, with a population of 49,019. This study aims to describe the impact of empowerment programs on the socio-economic life of poor fishing households in Nagari Taratak, Sutera District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The research method used is qualitative, with data collected through observation and in-depth interviews with informants selected using snowball sampling. Data validity was tested using triangulation, and analysis was carried out using the interactive model developed by Mathew Miles and Huberman. The program’s social impact included closer social interactions after the establishment of KUBE, stronger cooperation, and reduced competition. Its economic impacts can be seen in new employment opportunities for fishermen’s wives and children, increased income, and improved educational attainment among fishermen’s children. The KUBE program has therefore contributed positively to the economic life of fishermen who made use of it.

Abstract

Surface mining, including tin mining, is the most common mining practice in Indonesia. The existence of mining ore or minerals close to the surface soil is the reason for carrying out this mining method. The process of mining surface resulted in the change of land landscape, which may cause soil erosion and even flood. It has caused various ecological and environmental problems, including soil degradation. This study describes soil physio-chemical properties impacted by surface tin mining in Bangka, Indonesia. Soils were collected from three different land use in natural forest, agroforestry, and post tin mining area in Bangka Regency, Province of Bangka Belitung Island. Five-spot soils were sampled from each site. Each site had three replication of the sampling area. The plot size for each site is about 200-500 m2. Soil texture, pH, total N, available P, exchangeable K, organic carbon, C/N ratio, CEC, Al3+, and H+ were analyzed. The results showed that mining decreased organic carbon, total N, available P, exchangeable K, and CEC. Mining changed the soil texture to be dominated by quartz sand. These results indicate that mining significantly deleterious soil fertility, therefore, potential as a limiting factor for plant growth, which could be a hamper for restoration efforts of post tin mining areas. Keywords: tin mining, restoration, soil physiochemical properties, soil degradation
