Abstract

This study aims to analyze campaign message strategies and the effectiveness of political rhetoric employed by incumbent legislative candidates from the Golkar Party in Mukomuko Regency during the 2014 Legislative Election. A qualitative approach with a case study design was applied, utilizing in-depth interviews, field observation, and campaign material documentation. The findings reveal that candidates structured their campaign messages contextually, emphasizing personal credibility (ethos), emotional closeness (pathos), and programmatic argumentation (logos). Message delivery was conducted interpersonally through social gatherings and informal meetings, reflecting the local community’s communication culture. Candidates consciously avoided negative campaigning and prioritized narratives of achievement and performance records. These findings suggest that effective political communication in local contexts requires a combination of message substance and sensitivity to prevailing social norms.

Abstract

Intersections are locations of traffic conflicts. The absence of traffic lights or traffic lights at the intersection of Jalan Dolokgede - Purwosari and Jalan Raya Purwosari - Padangan means that vehicles often experience traffic jams and are also prone to traffic accidents. There needs to be traffic management implemented, especially traffic lights or traffic lights, to regulate these unsignaled intersections. The research limits the problem by discussing intersection conditions, traffic volume, saturation flow, effective green time, capacity, degree of saturation, queue length and delays. Traffic light calculations were carried out using the PKJI 2023 method. The results of two-phase intersection planning calculations resulted in a western approach DJ of 0.535, an eastern approach of 0.456, a southern approach of 0.507, an average intersection delay of 9 seconds/SMP with an intersection cycle time of 29 seconds. Meanwhile, the results of the three-phase fire intersection planning produced a western approach DJ of 0.65, an eastern approach of 0.654, a southern approach of 0.643, an average intersection delay of 21.2 seconds/SMP with an intersection cycle time of 46 seconds. The regulation of the unsignaled intersection of Jalan Dolokgede - Purwosari and Jalan Raya Purwosari - Dolokgede can be carried out using either two phases or three phases in accordance with the PKJI 2023 guidelines with DJ ≤0.85.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of the role of new university students in community engagement and how solidarity can be strengthened to support their social character development. New students often face difficulties in adjusting to the university environment, which can lead to social alienation and a lack of understanding of their roles as agents of change. Through a designed community service program, known as "Malam Keakraban" (Makrab), new students are invited to participate in activities that emphasize social interaction and value reflection. This program involves thematic discussions, collaborative games, and participatory learning aimed at building social awareness and solidarity among students. The results of this activity indicate an increase in active participation, initiatives to engage in social activities, and positive changes in communication patterns among students. Thus, this article emphasizes that strengthening solidarity among new students is a strategic step in shaping their character and enhancing their contributions to society.

Abstract

BUMDes, atau Badan Usaha Milik Desa, adalah lembaga usaha yang dibentuk oleh pemerintah desa bersama masyarakat desa, dengan tujuan untuk mengelola potensi ekonomi desa dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, hal ini membuat ketertarikan untuk melakukkan penelitian yang berjudul Analisis Pengelolaan Badan Usaha Milik Desa (Bumdes) Pada Desa Kalukubula. Dengan tujuan menganalisis pengelolaan BUMDes. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa pengelolaan BUMDes Mutianggaluku Mandiri ini berdasarkan pengelolaan sudah menggambarkan pengelolaan BUMDes dengan baik, dilihat dari segi perencanaan, dan pelaksanaan. BUMDes Mutianggaluku Mandiri juga berperan dalam menyediakan fasilitas untuk bisa memberikan peluang terhadap masyarakat untuk bisa meningkatkan pendapatan. Serta BUMDes Mutianggaluku Mandiri sudah termasuk kategori baik dimana sitem pelaporan yang dilakukan dalam setiap bulan dan tahun dengan menyajikan laporan arus kas dan laba rugi. Abstract

Soybean Mosaic Virus (SMV) is a species in the Potyvirus genus, which is a plant RNA virus known to attack important agricultural crops. Infection by SMV during early growth can reduce productivity by 25.48% to 93.84% in soybean plants. Trichoderma plays a role through the contact of spores on root surfaces, leading to the production of plant defenses such as peptides and proteins, and assisting in nutrient absorption, thereby allowing Trichoderma to control pathogen growth and enhance plant growth and yield. This research aims to determine the effect of Trichoderma asperellum doses on the growth and yield of soybean plants infected with Soybean Mosaic Virus. The study was conducted from June to September 2024 using an experimental method with a randomized block design consisting of 4 replications and 6 treatment levels: T0 = 0 ml (control), T1 = 10 ml, T2 = 20 ml, T3 = 30 ml, T4 = 40 ml, T5 = 50 ml per plant with each 1 ml containing spore count of T. asperellum = 46.5 x 102 spores). The results showed that the dose of Trichoderma asperellum had a real effect on the growth and yield of soybean plants infected with Soybean Mosaic Virus. The application of Trichoderma asperellum was able to increase plant height by 36.33%, the number of leaves by 42.36%, the wet weight of the plant by 48.97%, the dry weight of the plant by 48.03%, the dry weight of the roots by 64.43%, and the number of pods by 34.26% in soybean plants compared to no application of Trichoderma asperellum. Administration of Trichoderma asperellum 50 ml dose obtained the best growth and results.

Abstract

The background of this activity focuses on the low interest of students in continuing to higher education, particularly in the field of accounting. This is due to a lack of understanding regarding the diverse and promising career prospects in accounting, such as job stability, competitive salaries, and opportunities for growth. In addition, limited outreach about accounting careers has led students to overlook this field as a potential future career choice. This activity aims to increase students’ understanding and interest in accounting careers. The community service program at SMK Negeri 1 Sungailiat aims to enhance accounting students’ understanding and interest in pursuing higher education in accounting. Using the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) approach, this program provides career guidance through workshops, interactive discussions, and SCCT-based questionnaires that measure students' self-efficacy, outcome expectations, and career goals. The results of this activity show a significant increase in students’ understanding of the importance of higher education in expanding career opportunities in accounting. Additionally, there is an increase in students’ confidence in accounting career prospects, as reflected in the questionnaire results. Students now better understand various career benefits, such as job stability and opportunities for growth. Positive feedback from students also indicates that the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) approach is effective in helping them make better career decisions. Therefore, this activity successfully motivates students to consider accounting as a career choice. In conclusion, SCCT-based career guidance helps students confidently choose accounting as their major. Recommendations are made to extend the duration of interaction and strengthen career guidance programs so that students receive continuous support in planning their education and future careers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur secara kuantitatif penurunan daya output dan peningkatan efisiensi mekanis pada mesin diesel Caterpillar C32 setelah pergantian nozzle injector. Mesin tersebut menggerakkan generator pompa kebakaran berkapasitas seribu kVA di PT Pertamina Gas ONSA, Medan. Data daya output dikumpulkan menggunakan dynamometer Schenck pada beban penuh sebelum dan sesudah pergantian injector genuine, masing-masing diukur tiga kali untuk memperoleh nilai rata-rata. Karakteristik pola semprot dan laju kebocoran injector lama diuji sesuai prosedur ISO 4008-1:1980 dan ISO 2974:2018 melalui spray-pattern test dan leakage test. Injector lama yang telah beroperasi selama sepuluh ribu delapan ratus jam menunjukkan penyempitan orifice akibat akumulasi deposit karbon sehingga daya output berkurang sebesar 129,81 HP (96,8 kW). Setelah penggantian injector, daya output meningkat dari 1765,95 HP menjadi 1895,76 HP dan efisiensi mekanis mencapai 93,15 persen. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji t-berpasangan menunjukkan perbedaan daya yang signifikan pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Rekomendasi meliputi pengujian pola semprot dan flow-rate secara berkala setiap enam hingga delapan ribu jam operasi serta penggunaan solar ultra-low-sulfur dan aditif cetane improver.

Abstract

Nonverbal communication is a way of communication commonly used in various activities. There are many ways to communicate something by using symbols, codes, and images. In the volleyball game conducted by the Rimbo Kedui team, communication occurred between the coach and the players. The usual communication method used is through finger codes and body movements. These finger codes have specific meanings that can only be understood by fellow players. The symbolic interaction theory used in this research is Herbert Mead.Nonverbal communication is also used in a volleyball game, one form of nonverbal communication widely used by setter Rimbo Kedui is hand signals to inform the pass that will be given to the smasher, in addition to hand signals, another nonverbal form is eye contact, but its intensity is not as much as using hand signals, such as clenching hands, thumb and index finger, five fingers, and many more. By using the attack codes arranged by the setter, it becomes more secretive because only their teammates understand those codes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of utilizing plastic waste from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as a creative collage medium to increase environmental awareness among early childhood students. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design, this research involved 8 children aged 5–12 years from two early childhood education institutions in Bengkulu. The experimental group received environmental education using creative collages made from MSME plastic waste, while the control group used conventional media. Data were collected using an environmental awareness scale and analyzed using paired and independent t-tests. The results showed a significant increase in the environmental awareness scores of the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). This study concludes that integrating recycled materials from MSME plastic waste into creative learning activities significantly enhances environmental consciousness among young children.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the communication barriers experienced by Community Counselors (PK) in their interactions with child clients at the Class I Correctional Center Office in Bengkulu. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving six informants (three key informants and three supporting informants). The study adopts Fajar’s (2009) theory, which categorizes communication barriers into four types: sender-related, encoding and symbols, media, and receiver-related obstacles. The findings reveal that sender-related barriers are still prevalent, particularly influenced by the psychological and emotional conditions of the child clients. Despite efforts to simplify messages, one counselor reported difficulties due to the complex backgrounds of some children. However, encoding and symbolic barriers were not found, as all counselors used simple and clear language, supported by concrete examples to ensure comprehension. Media-related barriers were also minimal since all communication was conducted face-to-face without reliance on electronic media. From the client’s perspective, most child clients demonstrated an adequate understanding of the messages delivered, citing the clarity of language and a comfortable counseling atmosphere as key factors. Nevertheless, some clients expressed confusion due to the use of unfamiliar terms or fast-paced explanations. This research emphasizes the importance of adaptive communication strategies in child rehabilitation settings and suggests training interventions to enhance the interpersonal communication skills of PK staff when dealing with diverse child client profiles.
