Keprihatinan bangsa yang tengah dilanda krisis dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan membuat peran pendidikan, khususnya di sekolah-sekolah dipertanyakan. Begitu pula peran kegiatan penyuluhan dalam proses pembangunan bangsa masih sering dipertanyakan. Dengan melihat kondisi realitas yang ada, seperti maraknya tawuran pelajar, merebaknya kasus narkoba, dan beberapa perilaku yang menyimpang dari norma-norma agama dan budaya, seperti pergaulan bebas, membuat peran pendidikan dan penyuluhan semakin dipertanyakan. Seolah pendidikan di sekolahlah yang bertanggungjawab terhadap berbagai permasalahan yang menyelimuti generasi penerus bangsa pada khususnya, dan masyarakat pada umumnya. Pendidikan dan penyuluhan sering pula dijadikan sebagai kambing hitam terhadap ketidakberhasilan dalam membentuk moral bangsa.

Salah satu masalah klasik yang harus diatasi oleh Departemen Kehutanan dan perusahaan pemegang konsesi pengusahaan hutan menyangkut keberadaan masyarakat desa hutan adalah upaya untuk mengendalikan aktivitas perladangan berpindah. Dari segi demografis, menurut data FAO populasi masyarakat peladang yang ada di Indonesia berjumlah lebih kurang 12 juta jiwa dengan areal ladang seluas 35 juta hektar. Sementara menurut BPS, jumlah manusia Indonesia yang menggantungkan hidupnya pada sistem pertanian ladang sebanyak 5,6 juta jiwa dengan luas areal sebesar 10,4 juta hektar (Nugraha, 2005).

This research aim was to formulate priority of strategy development the role of agriculture extension agent in Banten. To determine the priority of strategy development the role of agriculture extension agent used SWOT and AHP. Result of research indicated that the priority of development Strategy of role the agriculture extension agent in Banten were: (1) Improving the quality of human resouces of extension agent by diklat from other institution to get the ability, knowledge, and skill; (2) Improving of quality of counselling and cooperation with the relevant institution by the existence of fundamental duty clarity and function; (3) Product marketing competitive agriculture by maximizing role of group of farmer; (4) Optimalization of agriculture development with the guarantee of invitation regulation; and (5) Exploiting technology to support the agriculture extinsion program.Keywords: strategy, role, development, agriculture extension agent

This research aim are: (1) To study perception of agriculture extension agent about their role in agriculture activity in Banten, ( 2) To explain of factors which have correlation with the perception of agriculture extension agents about their roles in agriculture extension activity in Banten, (3) To analysing degree of factors which have correlation with the perception of agriculture extension agents about their roles in agriculture extension activity in Banten. Research was designed with the method survey the deskriptive-korelasional. Analyse the data used the descriptive statistic and statistical analysis inferensial. For the statistic of descriptive use the frequency, percentage, mean score, total mean score and tabulation traverse, analysis of statistic inferensial used to see the relation the dependen variable with the independen variable by rank Spearman. Factors which correlate with the perception are (1) characteristic of extension agent consisted by the age, formal education, and experience; (2) physical Environment consisted by the institute, mean the work, construction and supervise, and career development; (3) social economics environment: Environment of work, partner opportunity, and access to economic resources; and (4) Motivation: achievement motivation, affiliate motivation, and power motivation.Key word: Perception, Role, agriculture extension agent

Deviant behavior and ethic, norm, and moral violations done by the teachers become indicators on how poor is the personalcompetence of the teachers in Indonesia. Training to improve the personal competence of the teachers has got less concern fromthe government. This study offers an alternative in determining the training needs using the Training Needs Assessment (TNA).The study aimed at mapping the actual personality competence of the teachers, establishing training needs and priorities, aswell as providing recommendations for effective training methods. The survey method, interviews and FGDs were conductedto obtain the primary data. Survey was carried on 165 natural science teachers of SMP Negeri Pekanbaru using self evaluationquestionnaire. Result show that actual personality competence of the teachers are below the ideal competence. There are twopriority training programs include the training i.e on ethic code of teachers and training on personality strengthening. The trainingmethods of internal coaching and specific training are effective to improve the personality competence of the teacher.Keywords: personality competence, training needs analysis, teacher

Private forests have economical, social and environmental benefits. Through the private forests, farmers can support the fulfillment of the household needs, included basic and social needs, as well as appreciation for their initiatives and actions in land rehabilitation. Without strong motivation from farmers, the private forests would be rarely found. Thus, the research objective is to analyze factors motivate farmers do the business and therole of the forests extension workers in the development of private forests. Primary data was collected in CingambulVillage, Sub-District Cingambul, Majalengka from July to August 2013. A number of 81 farmers out of 101 private forest farmers were selected as respondents. A Rank Spearman Correlation was used to analyse factors correlate to motivation of the farmers in running private forests. The research results show that: (1) farmersâ€™ motivation has a positive correlation with the farmerâ€™s perception to the benefits of private forests, attitudes of forest people toward their private forest business, availability of plant species, ease of marketing, frequency of forest extension workers visit, suitability of the material, equipment availability, and accuracy methods applied in the extension activity, and (2) the farmers perceived that the dominant roles of forestry extension are as a advisors, facilitators and as a educators. There is a need to improve the role of extension workers as a motivator for farmers in managing the private forests.Keywords: motivation, private forests, the role of forestry extension workers.

Various programs and the results achieved must not be separated from the role of agricultural extension in carrying out their duties and responsibilities in fostering farmer. The purpose of the study to identify the level of performance of agricultural extension in Pidie District in carrying out their duties, and to analyze the factors associated with the performance of agricultural extension. The method used in data collection is the census. The number of respondents in this study were as many as 47 people. The data collection was carried out from February 2014 to April 2014, using questionnaires, interviews, observation and study of literature. The data obtained were tabulated and then analyzed using Spearman Rank. The results showed that the level of performance of agricultural extension in Pidie District in general is still relatively low. Spearman rank correlation results showed: (1) factors related to the internal characteristics of the performance of extension are: length of service and number of target groups (2) factors related to the external characteristics of the performance of extension are: administrative support and working conditions, and (3) Factors competence extension tasks related to the performance of agricultural extension are: the application of adult learning principles, communication skills and ability to cooperate.Keywords: agricultural extension, performance, characteristics, competencies.

Domestic Wasted management program is one of PT Indocement's CSR conducted in Gunung Sari Village. This research aimson the evaluation of wasted management program that has been running since 2009. The evaluation was conducted using CIPPconcept from Stufflebeam by analyzing content, input, process, and final product as an outcome from this program. This researchillustrated both the supporting and inhibiting factors from the domestic wasted management program and also described theproceeding programs for these past 5 years. The population for this research was represented by 120 domestic house wivesas corespondent, addressed in RW 04. Domestic wasted management program in Gunung Sari Village is running well. Thesupporting factors for this program are the subsidy cost from PT. Indocement CSR funds, the awareness of UPK managementto be independent, creativity and the society's awareness for a cleaner environment. Meanwhile the inhibiting factors are themarketing for the final product and the lack of communications between the stakeholders.Keywords: evaluation, CIPP, CSR, domestic wasted management

Cyber extension is one of the modern technology which can be utilized by the farmers, extension workers, and Business actors to obtain informations and develop agricultural business. The purpose of this study was to analyze relationship between characteristics of respondents and environmental with the farmers behavior in utilizing cyber extension (Hp and internet) to support farming activities as well as the utilized on farm orchid plants. This study is descriptive correlational type of survey method. Research conducted at the Ragunan Orchid Park, South Jakarta, Jakarta Province. The sample were all growers of orchids as many as 35 people. The behavior of farmers for using cyber media, especially utilized of mobile phones. It also had a positive utilized in the development of farming, especially in marketing orchids in town and out of town. So, the farmers increase consumer and profit.Keywords: cyber extension, extension workers, utilized, handphone

The study aims to: (1) analyze the level of group dynamics; (2) analyze relation between internal and external characteristics of members and group dynamics. The research uses survey method and was conducted in South Lampung. Numbers of samples are 50 respondents. Descriptive and correlational analysis was used to explain this research. The results of the research show that: (1) the level of group dynamics was low because the group goals are not specific, the structure is not clear, group role and function is not implemented optimally, coaching and development of group is not adequate, and there is no positive pressure; (2) the internal and external characteristics of members that related positively with group dynamics are working motivation, intensity of extension, mentoring, and social interaction of the group.Keywords: coorporate social responsibility, group dynamics, member’s characteritics, frequency of extension
