Abstract

It is essential to realize that wrong parenting can lead to serious social problems such as promiscuity, sexual violence against girls, early marriage, neglect, dropping out of school, and drug trafficking and use. This study aims to analyze the parenting style of children of families who live in the longhouse of Kampung Atas Air, Margasari Village, West Balikpapan District, Balikpapan City. The sociological perspective used is critical. This research uses the qualitative method of the case study approach. The research informants were five families living in longhouses consisting of mothers or fathers and children, community leaders, and local government. The results of the study show that the social reality of the longhouse family is not in line with the social order of the local community, such as; promiscuity occurs, children dropping out of school, early marriage, neglect of children and wives, and drug trafficking. The parenting style implemented is permissive and uninvolved parenting. Children are ignored so that they are not controlled in the association. Caring for children is the responsibility of the extended family, not the responsibility of the nuclear family, namely the biological parents, so children receive less attention from their parents during the growth period until adulthood. The research concludes that a parenting style not by the social order causes social disorder. Tanggung jawab pengasuhan anak menjadi tanggung jawab keluarga besar bukan tanggung jawab keluarga inti, yaitu orang tua kandungnya sehingga anak-anak kurang mendapat perhatian dari orang tua selama masa pertumbuhan sampai dewasa. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh yang tidak sesuai dengan tatanan sosial  menyebabkan terjadinya ketidakteraturan sosial.

Abstract

Purpose: To achieve the goals and working principles of health centers and health offices, the expertise and capacity of human resources are very important in diagnosing and overcoming problems so that they can achieve solutions to each task and function carried out by health centers. Methodology/approach: This research was conducted at the Metemani Health Center, South Sorong Regency, from April to June 2024. The qualitative method used in this study was designed to produce descriptive data consisting of written and spoken words derived from people and observed behaviors. The primary informants of the study were all employees at the Metemani Health Center, which amounted to 18 health workers, using the purposive sampling technique. Results/findings: Research at the Metemani Health Center shows a shortage of health workers, especially doctors, nutritionists, and pharmaceutical workers. The recruitment of health workers must be based on the analysis of the needs and fulfillment of the Minimum Personnel Standards in the agency. The Metemani Health Center has difficulty getting pharmacy staff, especially pharmacists, so this has an impact on the quality of services provided. The Head of the Health Center suggested the need for non-health workers to support administrative tasks. Limitations: Analyzing the needs of healthcare workers based on workload is essential for optimizing the performance and quality of service. Fatigue and work stress can have an impact on productivity and service quality. Contribution: The theoretical implications of this study underscore the importance of maintaining the recruitment of health workers based on the analysis of needs and fulfilment of the Minimum Standards of Personnel at Health Institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and apply Jacques Derrida's concept of deconstruction in the context of higher education architectural design. The primary focus is on creating learning environments that not only support diversity in learning methods but also foster spaces that stimulate creativity and dynamic interaction among students. The research seeks to explore how deconstructivist principles can be implemented in modern learning space design, distinguishing it from more conventional modern architectural principles. The methodology includes a detailed comparative analysis between modern and deconstructivist architecture, critically assessing aspects such as design philosophy, space utilization, aesthetics, and the socio-cultural impact of both architectural approaches. Furthermore, the study employs experimental design, where various deconstructivist concepts are tested in learning space design, including through 3D modeling and digital simulations, to explore their potential in a real educational setting. The results reveal striking differences between deconstructivist and modern architectural approaches. Deconstructivist architecture tends to use asymmetrical forms, complex structures, and varied interpretations, in contrast to the focus on functionality, symmetry, and efficiency often found in modern architecture. The conclusion is that deconstructivist architecture, with its principles of challenging norms and exploring the potential of form and space, can significantly contribute to creating rich and stimulating learning environments. This approach not only enriches the aesthetic aspects of educational environments but also encourages critical thinking, innovation, and creativity among students.

Abstract

This research discusses the phenomenon of nighlife and the social reality of women's nighlife in Bira Beach, Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. Nightlife in this tourist area is not only an attraction for tourists but also reflects complex socio-economic dynamics. The presence of night women in Bira Beach is often influenced by life pressures, economic limitations, and lack of access to education and formal employment opportunities. For some women, night work becomes a strategy for survival as well as a space to escape social and family pressures. This phenomenon also functions as a new social space where individuals can express freedom and rebuild self-identity. Using a qualitative approach and an interpretive paradigm, this research reveals the motivations, dynamics of social interaction, and impacts of nightlife on the women involved. The findings show that nightlife at Bira Beach functions not only as a space of escapism but also presents social challenges, including stigma and marginalization. This phenomenon is relevant to sociological studies, particularly in understanding the impacts of globalization, modernization, and the conflict between local cultural values and modern economic needs. A multidimensional approach is necessary to create inclusive solutions, such as socio-economic empowerment, changing societal perceptions, and community-based interventions. Through these measures, women in the nightlife industry are expected to break free from cycles of poverty and social stigma and gain opportunities to improve their quality of life. This study makes a significant contribution to understanding the relationship between nightlife, social escapism, and the economic-cultural dynamics in coastal communities.

Abstract

Introduction: The 2023 report from the Tuberculosis Working Group of the Directorate for Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, showed an increase in detected pulmonary TB cases from 724,309 cases in 2022 to 821,200 cases in 2023. This increase aligns with the coverage rate of pulmonary TB rising from 68% in 2022 to 77% in 2023. The estimated detection of pulmonary TB cases in Indonesia from 2023-2024 is around 1,060,000 cases. At the provincial level, the case notification achievements showed that West Papua Province had a notification coverage of 112%, while West Papua Province had only 66%. Objective: The aim of this research is to examine the influence of physical environmental factors at home and the habits of pulmonary TB sufferers on the incidence of pulmonary TB as a factor in the transmission of pulmonary TB in South Sorong Regency. Method: The method used in this research is quantitative analysis with a cross sectional approach by carrying out logistic regression analysis. Result: The results of the study showed that the type of floor, humidity, the habit of opening and closing windows, cough etiquette and the habit of expelling phlegm were related to the incidence of pulmonary TB. There is no relationship between lighting levels, residential density, ventilation area, temperature and smoking habits on the incidence of pulmonary TB. The habit of expelling phlegm is the variable that has the most influence on the incidence of pulmonary TB (aPR 7.630 95%CI 1.991-29.242).. Conclusion: This research recommends promotion of stone ethics and monitoring of the housing conditions of pulmonary TB sufferers. Evaluation of programs and infrastructure improvements by the South Sorong District Health Service.

Abstract

Introduction: . The goal of malaria control in Indonesia is to achieve gradual elimination by 2030, starting from the district/city, provincial, regional, and national levels. The process will begin with elimination assessments for Java and Bali in 2023; Sumatra, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), and Sulawesi in 2025; Kalimantan and Maluku Utara in 2027; Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) and Maluku in 2028; Papua Barat and Papua in 2029; with national elimination certification expected by 2030 Objective: . This study aims to understand the inputs, activities, and outputs conducted by South Sorong District in maintaining malaria elimination Method: The method used is a qualitative approach with interviews conducted with nine informants, including healthcare workers and community members. Result: The results of this study indicate that in South Sorong District, trained healthcare workers and cross-professional collaboration play a crucial role in malaria elimination, despite limited numbers and funding from APBN, APBD, and the Global Fund. The Bela Kampung program raises community awareness, supported by routine monitoring and control activities such as blood surveys and the distribution of insecticide-treated nets. The district has successfully maintained its malaria elimination status despite challenges such as community dishonesty and budget constraints. Optimizing community awareness, cross-sector collaboration, the commitment of the regent, and program innovation help address these challenges. Conclusion: The study recommends increasing the number of healthcare workers and strengthening cross-sector collaboration to maintain malaria elimination in South Sorong District. Additionally, increasing funding and ongoing support from the local government are necessary.

Abstract

TikTok, as a rapidly growing social media platform in Indonesia, has become a primary space for social interaction and the creation of digital identities. This article examines the phenomenon of social media commodification through Jean Baudrillard's theory, focusing on TikTok Indonesia. Based on the concepts of simulation and hyperreality, this article discusses how TikTok creates images that replace reality and produces identities and lifestyles as commodities. Through the practice of curated content creation, TikTok introduces a hyperreal world where users interact more with their digitally constructed self-representations than with physical reality. This commodification introduces a new dynamic in social interactions, where products, images, and experiences become part of an identity that is marketed. This article analyzes the impact of TikTok's commodification on consumer culture, individual identity, and the social structure in Indonesia.
