Abstract

This study evaluates the financial feasibility of the Remedies Postpartum Care Center, which aims to provide holistic health services for postpartum mothers during the critical period of 0-14 days after delivery. The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility of investment by conducting a financial due diligence analysis, including revenue projections, Return on Investment (ROI), Net Present Value (NPV), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) calculations. The results showed that the average ROI reached 16.93%, with a positive NPV and a payback period of four years. In addition, the IRR was recorded at 44% in the fifth year, indicating that the project was feasible. The findings also showed that Remedies had no short- or long-term debt, with a current ratio of 2.64 times. The Remedies Postpartum Care Center has good prospects based on the financial analysis conducted. With a solid risk management strategy and significant revenue projections, the project is feasible for implementation. This research provides guidance for investors and entrepreneurs in assessing the feasibility of healthcare projects. The results can be used as a reference for policy development to support postpartum care centers in Indonesia.

Abstract

Fulfilling patient rights is one of the important things that is the main key in hospital services. In Indonesia, the fulfillment of these patient rights is legally regulated and the hospital must include these rights in the hospital regulations and explain them to the patient so that they understand their rights and obligations. This is a general consent that must be signed by the patient. However, in its implementation at RSU UKI Jakarta, most of the patients did not understand their rights and obligations. And there are still many nurses who do not understand general consent, and consider general consent to be the same as informed consent. This shows the lack of knowledge and awareness of nurses about the importance of fulfilling patient rights. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of knowledge, attitudes towards fulfilling patient rights, and motivation as intervening variables. This research is a quantitative approach with a saturated sample of 78 inpatient nurses at the hospital. This study uses the SEM-PLS method. The results show that knowledge has a positive and significant effect on motivation, attitude has a positive and significant effect on motivation, motivation has a significant positive effect on the behavior of fulfilling patient rights, knowledge has a positive and significant effect on the behavior of fulfilling patient rights, and attitude has a significant effect on behavior fulfillment of patient rights. Motivation as an intervening variable can mediate between attitudes and behavior in fulfilling patient rights, having a positive and significant influence. However, motivation does not mediate between knowledge and behavior in fulfilling patient rights, because it has been shown to have no significant effect. Keywords: knowledge, attitudes, motivation, fullfiling patient rights

Abstract

Risk management is a critical component of business operations, particularly in the healthcare sector, such as in postpartum care centers. This study aims to design a comprehensive risk management plan for Remedies, a postpartum care center in Indonesia, based on the ISO 31000:2018 standard. The proposed framework encompasses the identification, analysis, evaluation, and treatment of both internal and external risks that could impact service quality, reputation, and financial stability. Short-term, medium-term, and long-term objectives are formulated to ensure alignment with the company’s vision of becoming an innovative and inspirational care center. The methodology employed involves risk analysis based on probability and impact, as well as the implementation of mitigation strategies tailored to Remedies' operational context. The findings reveal that the primary risks faced include clinical, reputational, compliance, operational, and financial risks. Risk treatment strategies focus on enhancing service quality, staff training, revenue diversification, and the adoption of innovative technologies. Additionally, communication and consultation with stakeholders are identified as crucial factors in ensuring the effectiveness of risk management. This study provides practical contributions by offering a risk management framework that can be adapted by other healthcare centers. The recommendations emphasize the importance of regular monitoring, continuous evaluation, and adequate budget allocation for risk management implementation. By adopting these measures, Remedies can mitigate operational challenges, improve service quality, and achieve long-term financial stability.

Abstract

Human capital planning is a crucial aspect of the healthcare service industry, particularly in the postpartum care sector, which requires a workforce with high medical, psychological, and social competencies. Qualified healthcare professionals play a vital role in ensuring maternal recovery after childbirth, preventing health complications, and supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding and infant well-being. However, challenges in human resources management in this sector remain significant, including high turnover rates among medical personnel, heavy workloads, and limited competency-based training systems. To address these challenges, a strategic and adaptive human capital planning approach is necessary to ensure a high-quality and sustainable workforce. This business plan aims to analyze the human capital planning strategy implemented by Remedies, a postpartum healthcare center, using the McKinsey 7S Model. This approach is used to evaluate the alignment of human resources strategies with the organization’s business objectives, which influence the effectiveness of workforce management. Remedies applies a short-term, medium-term, and long-term human capital strategy, focusing on enhancing medical staff competencies, strengthening organizational culture, and adopting digital technology in HR systems. In the short-term strategy, Remedies emphasizes competency-based recruitment and fundamental training for new healthcare staff. The medium-term strategy focuses on workforce skill development, professional certification, and reinforcing an empathy- and innovation-based organizational culture. Meanwhile, the long-term strategy involves the implementation of a knowledge management system, human resources digitalization, and leadership programs to prepare the future workforce. This business plan provides valuable contributions to healthcare service providers, academics, and policymakers in understanding effective human capital planning strategies to improve postpartum healthcare services. The recommendations include strengthening competency-based recruitment policies, developing incentive and employee welfare systems, and optimizing digital technology in human resources management. By implementing these strategies, healthcare organizations are expected to enhance competitiveness, reduce turnover rates, and ensure high-quality services for mothers and infants after childbirth.

Abstract

Aims: Neuropathy is one of the complications that can occur in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, around 21.3% to 34.5%. Untreated neuropathy can lead to diabetic foot ulcers that can lead to amputation. This can be prevented by conducting early detection using a neuropathy screening instrument. The study aimed to identify neuropathy symptoms through early examination of patients with type 2 diabetes using the Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument (MNSI). Method: The descriptive study with a survey was approached in this study.  One hundred respondents with type 2 diabetes mellitus were selected using the purposive sampling technique.   Results: The results showed that out of 100 patients had clinical symptoms of sensory neuropathy, such as pain and sensitivity disorders in the soles of the feet.  In addition, autonomic neuropathy is in the form of cramps in the leg muscles.  The level of neuropathy showed that from 100 patients, there were 59 respondents with low risk of neuropathy, 40 respondents with moderate risk, and 1 respondent with severe risk.   Conclusion: Patients with Diabetes, primarily Type 2, have various neuropathy symptoms such as impaired nerve function: numbness, burning, and hypersensitivity, which can lead to diabetic foot ulcers.  Therefore, early detection of neuropathy prevention is essential.
