Abstract

The pandemic conditions since two years ago have left people vigilant about economic security, especially food security. Another problem is that the reduction of agricultural land and the density of residential housing has encouraged the emergence of a new concept of gardening on limited land. Agriculture in urban areas with minimal land is called Urban Farming by the agricultural community. This service aims to provide knowledge to partners about alternative strategies to strengthen family food security through microgreen cultivation. The method used in this service is the Community Based Research (CBR) approach, which prioritizes the utilization of assets and potentials that are around and owned by the community or society.  This activity was carried out in 3 stages; training, cultivation preparation and implementation of microgreen cultivation. Many people got the benefits and virtues of microgreen cultivation.  The partners of this service are community groups who are members of the WES (Women and Environmental Studies) Payungi community which focuses on women and environmental issues and actively participates in spreading knowledge about the environment to the surrounding community. By conducting this training to the partner group, the partners can practice growing microgreens for themselves and participate in introducing it to a wider community environment. The retrieval of these informants is done by interviews, observation and documentation. The data used research directly accommodated by Mataram Udik and taken from several articles from the scientific publication database Publish or Perish. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are great children who have mastered the competition materials. Abstract

Ecological awareness is increasingly recognized as a critical component of education, particularly in the context of Islamic boarding schools, which play a significant role in shaping the values and behaviors of young Muslims in Indonesia. The method used ABCD (Asset Based Community) to maximize the potential assets, which includes individual assets, communities, infrastructure, community, et al. The result showed that the mentoring activity at the Mambaul Huda Islamic boarding school was attended enthusiastically by dozens of male and female students and carried out according to schedule. Planting the value of ecological awareness should be done through daily habituation in the boarding school environment, as well as transformative education that solves environmental problems. One of the key benefits of mentorship in this context is the opportunity for experiential learning. Mentors can facilitate hands-on activities, such as tree planting, waste management projects, and community clean-up initiatives, which not only educate students about ecological principles but also encourage them to take an active role in their communities

Abstract

Writing argumentative essay poses a significant challenge for English students, who often struggle with expressing opinions, organizing ideas logically, and using appropriate language structures. Despite the importance of assessing writing skills at early stages, few reliable instruments exist that are specifically designed to evaluate argumentative essay. This study aims to develop a valid and reliable analytic rubric to assess students’ argumentative essay skills, focusing on six key components: clarity of thesis, organization and coherence, supporting evidence, argument development, language use, and vocabulary range. The research employed a design-based development approach, incorporating literature review, expert validation, and empirical testing. Content validity was established through expert judgment (S-CVI = 0.95), and the instrument was pilot-tested with 85 English students. Statistical analyses demonstrated high inter-rater reliability (ICC = 0.87) and strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.89). Descriptive data revealed that while English students showed emerging abilities in thesis clarity and grammar, they struggled with supporting arguments and maintaining logical flow. The resulting rubric serves both as an assessment and instructional tool, helping educators diagnose English student needs and promote writing development. Unlike general-purpose rubrics or those designed for advanced English students, this rubric is specifically aligned with the challenges of early-stage academic writers. The study contributes to closing a gap in writing assessment tools and provides a practical resource for use in EFL classrooms

Abstract

This research explores community-based economic transformation through case studies of Pasar Yosomulyo Pelangi (Payungi) in Metro, Pasar Papringan in Temanggung, and Pasar Kamu in Deli Serdang. These three markets exemplify an alternative model of people-centered economic development grounded in the Pancadaya principles knowledge, sacrifice, movement, culture, and welfare—within a collective empowerment framework. The findings reveal that this approach not only enhances financial well-being but also fosters social solidarity, cultural revitalization, and ecological sustainability. Empowerment emerges through a praxis-based mechanism that integrates critical reflection and collective action, inspired by the emancipatory philosophies of Paulo Freire and Tan Malaka. In these market spaces, citizens act not only as economic agents but also as active learners and educators, cultivating agency, awareness, and alternative economic practices. Each site demonstrates localized strengths: Payungi excels in critical consciousness, transformative education, and multidimensional welfare; Papringan stands out for ecological awareness and innovative local currency systems; while Pasar Kamu contributes significantly to MSME empowerment and digital adaptation. This study contributes a novel theoretical framework Pancadaya Transformation for understanding community empowerment as an integrative process of economic, cultural, educational, and ecological development. It advances the discourse on alternative development by demonstrating how grassroots market spaces can function as educational arenas, cultural incubators, and engines of equitable growth. As such, Pancadaya offers a replicable, value-driven model for sustainable economic transformation rooted in local wisdom and participatory action, particularly relevant for the Indonesian context and other Global South settings.

Abstract

The lack of skills in utilizing environmentally friendly waste materials effectively and efficiently remains a challenge among early childhood educators. Many teachers in Raudlatul Athfal (RA) and Kindergarten have not yet received consistent and in-depth training on the optimization of interactive learning media. This study aims to identify concrete steps in the development of educational game tools (Alat Permainan Edukatif/APE) and to evaluate the impact of mentoring programs on the creation and implementation of APE in enhancing scientific literacy among early childhood learners in Metro, Lampung City. The mentoring program adopts the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which focuses on leveraging available assets—individual skills, natural resources, and existing infrastructure—to empower the community. The results show that the creation and use of APE by RA teachers play a strategic role in fostering children’s scientific literacy. These tools allow children to explore scientific concepts in an engaging, hands-on, and age-appropriate manner. Furthermore, the mentoring process significantly enhances teacher creativity and supports the implementation of interactive, child-centered learning strategies. This study contributes to early childhood education practices by demonstrating how locally available resources and structured mentoring can empower teachers to develop sustainable learning tools. It highlights the importance of contextualized, asset-based interventions in improving both teaching quality and children’s scientific literacy in under-resourced settings.
