Abstract

Covid-19 is an infectious disease that will become a global pandemic in 2020. To reduce the transmission rate, WHO has issued various recommendations for the community, such as the use of masks, regular hand washing, coughing and sneezing etiquette, keeping a distance between people, avoiding crowded places, and others. The existence of public restrictions creates new problems for patients because of difficulties in seeking treatment. Telemedicine is a form of telehealth, which is a health service that is carried out remotely. This technology makes it easier for patients to interact with doctors without having to meet face to face. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of satisfaction of users of telemedicine services at RSIA Stella Maris Medan. The type of research used is non-experimental quantitative with a quantitative analytical study design. The population and samples used were 186 users of telemedicine services at RSIA Stella Maris. The results showed that users considered the features of the availability of options to be able to choose the treating doctor, the confidentiality of medical records, the stability of the internet network, the friendly and ready to help the attitude of the nurses, and the long waiting time for the drug delivery process as the most important features of each service dimension. To improve the quality of RSIA Stella Maris telemedicine services, many features are a priority to be improved, as well as features are maintained.

Abstract

Many health workers in the world have been exposed and some have even died from COVID-19, which is currently a global pandemic. This is thought to be influenced by the personal protective equipment used by health workers, the implementation of health protocols carried out by health workers, and the honesty of patients in conveying their complaints, contact, and travel history. This study aims to determine the effect of the supply of personal protective equipment, implementation of health protocols, and patient honesty on the safety of health workers in the emergency department and inpatient rooms at Murni Teguh Hospital. This type of research is quantitative. The research sample was 100 health workers working in the emergency room and the inpatient room at Murni Teguh Hospital. The results of the chi-square test showed that there was a significant relationship between PPE supply (p=0.000), implementation of health protocols (p=0.003), and patient honesty (p=0.000) on the safety of emergency room health workers and inpatient rooms at Murni Teguh Hospital. The most influential variable is the supply of personal protective equipment (Sig.0.000). It is recommended that hospitals continue to maintain a supply of personal protective equipment to support the safety of health workers in hospitals. Health workers are expected to increase awareness of the use of personal protective equipment and the implementation of health protocols.

The incidence of needle sticks at Royal Prima Medan during 2020-2021 is known that the risk of infection due to needlestick wounds and sharp objects reaches 1.8%, with varying rates of HIV 2.5%, Hepatitis B and C by 40%. This study aims to analyze how the strategy is to reduce needlestick injuries for medical personnel in the emergency department and the central surgical installation of the Royal Prima Hospital. This type of research is qualitative research. The location of this research was carried out in the ER and the Central Surgical Installation of the Royal Prima Hospital. The research informants were the head of the emergency room and the head of the central surgical installation, medical personnel in the emergency room and the central surgical installation, cleaning staff. Data were collected using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and activity documentation. The results showed that the strategy to reduce injury was to prepare a needle holder or safety box, needles or sharp objects must be put in the safety box that has been provided, what was done so that officers were not stabbed by needles was that every briefing was always reminded so that the officers did the injection according to the procedure. and so that used needles are immediately put into the safety box so that officers do not experience needle sticks, the cause of needle sticks in the room is that the nurse in the room is tired of her work, so there is negligence in doing the injection so that there is an incident of being stabbed with used needles. This study suggests that the results of this study be used as a reference in making policies to prevent work accidents, add officers to reduce workloads, and disseminate information to all employees about the importance of implementing occupational safety and health.

Abstract

The performance of nurses in hospitals is closely related to reliable, skilled, and professional human resources. Many factors are thought to influence the performance of nurses, namely age, education, length of work, training, motivation, incentives, work environment, and supervision. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the performance of nurses. This research is an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at Raden Mattaher Hospital, Jambi Province. The study population was 406 people and a sample of 261 people. Sampling by purposive sampling. Data analysis was univariate, bivariate with a chi-square test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression at a 95% confidence level (=0.05). The results showed that the factors that influenced the performance of nurses at the Raden Mattaher Regional General Hospital Jambi Province were education and training (p=0.000), motivation (p=0.000), incentives (p=0.020), and supervision (p=0.002 ). Variables that had no effect were age (p=0.584), education (p=0.786), length of work (p=0.421), and work environment (p=0.166). The most dominant variable affecting the performance of nurses is motivation with a value of Exp(B)/OR = 5.626, meaning that nurses who have high motivation have a 5.6 times higher chance of good performance than nurses with low motivation. This study concludes that education and training, motivation, incentives, and supervision affect the performance of nurses. The leadership of the Raden Mattaher Hospital in Jambi Province needs to hold regular education and training, provide incentives according to the nurse's responsibilities, the head of the room supervises properly so that it can improve the performance of implementing nurses.

Abstract

As of 2018, a new standard was applied, namely the National Standard for Hospital Accreditation (SNARS) Edition I. IPC is included in the group of Hospital management standards so that a good IPC organizing system can improve the quality of hospital services. The purpose of this study was to assess the IPC of SNARS Edition I. This study used qualitative analysis methods. Specifically, it is comparative descriptive research with a case study design. The object of this research is the implementation of the IPC program which is assessed through surveys and direct observations using the reference of SNARS Edition I. Respondents in this study amounted to 12 people. The search results obtained a PC score of 39.8%. The IPC Team Organization has not been socialized and has not established the IPC program so that surveillance records only run as in the previous year without a report being made to the leadership. The trend of incident cases knowing the management and implementation of the Program with SSI infection tends to increase. Of all the members of the IPC Team, only two members (18.18%) received official IPC education and training from outside the hospital. Existing IPC regulations need to be revised and completed, especially related to infection risk management which will have an impact on improving facilities and infrastructure. The implementation of the IPC program at the Royal Prima Hospital in Medan has not yet reached the graduation rate based on SNARS Edition I.
